5:24 The hardest O kratos ever spammed
It makes me emotional everytime I play this part. It hurts
Harder than the ending of GOWIII, because he really wanted to do it then.
That "Its all I have, Atlas!" made me feel sorry as fuck for Kratos, the fight he was always forced to go through just to find peace one way or another. Now we have Ragnarök on its way, and still nothing has changed. The poor man was always cursed by his fate, never to be given the humanity he had long sought...yet he desperately keeps fighting for it.
Well ... at least now he has BOI
Not quite... I think he has been cursed to be some kind of cosmic wrecking ball since before his birth, taking down 'the gods' on behalf of someone or something.
Loki going to get tortured to hell and we will kill all the gods
That's a staple of most greek tragedies. The inevitability of fate, and the constant (futile) struggle of man and god to overcome it.
@@christopherkidwell9817 ¿Might be the Christian God? Kratos's axe does happen to be named "Leviathan" like the creature from the Bible after all meaning there might be a God even higher than either the Greek or Norse gods responsible for Kratos's existence.

Before Persephone died, she said: Your suffering will never end. So she basically cursed him for eternal life where all he will know is only pain. This game is located before the events of GoW1 and as we know, he died in GoW1, GOW2 and GoW3. Yet he always came back. No one else in those games ever died and came back to life, only Kratos. So we might assume, that the curse actually works and he really is in some way immortal and if that is true, that one day he'll see BOI die too.

Ironically enough, Hades and Persephone have perhaps the most functional and genuinely loving relationships amongst all of the gods in actual Greek mythology. Though parts of there relationship become more or less wholesome depending on which version of any particular myth involving them you choose.
True, while Hades did indeed steal her from Demeter, he proved himself to be a kind and loving husband and she eventually reciprocated his feelings.
@@DerpASherpa117 in fact, depending on the myth, she might have even gone with him willingly.
Even in God of War 3, Hades refers to her with genuine love, trying to kill Kratos specifically because he "butchered my beautiful queen", and having a whole altar dedicated to her memory.
Hades is consistently one of the only sane gods, perhaps because he's merely supposed to be the king of the dead - and not death itself.
They're portrayed so differently in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, really a disservice...

I'll never understand how people can just label Kratos as being a one dimensional character that was just a male power fantasy. Dude has had it rough, and it's moments like this scattered throughout the series that shows his human side. That isn't to say he's excused of the awful things he's done, but that just makes him a character with more than surface level depth.

Yo, i guess you finally realized something after 2 years?
Persephone had actually a better fight and end worthy of a deitie than many of the gods Kratos faced.
I can understand well that hades was the actually only god that had reasons to kill kratos.
Poseidon only wanted to be worshipped and since Atlantis was destroyed, the people didn't honor him anymore. Hermes and helios just wanted to have fun. But hades lost everyone he loved to kratos (his best friends thanatos and charon, the furys and most importantly persephone and most of his dogs). He is the least like the other gods, not just in look and personality but also in his proritys.
To be fair though some of his best "friends" deserved their fates. The furies were plotting with Ares to overthrow Zeus and take over Olympus, not to mention that they became more violent and corrupt due to Ares' influence, while Thanatos was responsible of torturing and eventually killing Deimos who was innocent. For Poseidon, i don't have a single sympathy for him at all, considering he was one of the cruelest Olympians

@@darkemperortheobscureone694 i suppose gods and devils are not so different after all
Kinda stupid of Persephone to tell Kratos that his daughter would die if her plans come to fruition. Of course then he's gonna wanna stop her.
While it is true Persephone and Hades didn't initially love each other when they married, Persephone did fall in love with him after getting to know him (plot twist, Hades is a pretty chill dude in the original Greek stories,) and the whole curse with the pomegranate seeds was because Persephone wanted to go back to the surface, and Hades, unable to leave his realm, agreed, but he became worried she would leave him forever, meaning the curse was done out of anxiety. It's also not as restrictive as later tales make people think, she can freely roam Earth for a time during certain times of the year. I think it's from the first day of Spring to the first day of autumn, since the plants wilt while she's not on Earth, and bloom while she is, but after that time is up, she is forced back to her home by the curse. Hades is ashamed of himself for placing the curse, but Persephone, who loves him, did forgive him after spending a short time resenting him for not trusting her. It's weird that for a series that really tries to stay faithful to the original stories, it got this one wrong.
Gow is it own universe in the mythology non of the gods died
