I don't think so. In scene after final fight with Baldur it was made clear, that he doesn't want Atreus to kill him. Not that he's scared, but because he wants to end vicious cycle of gods enslaving/killing their own parents. He wants to have normal, human relationship with his son, like one he had with his greek family, before gods got involved.

the genius writing of the first scene with Baldur is that he’s not actually talking about anything Greek, he thinks Kratos is the Giant he’s looking for. “Your kind being more enlightened” and “long way from home” are referring to Giants being intelligent and the realm of Jotunheim
but at the beginning we think he means gods and Olympus

However Sparta did still treat its women alot better than the neighbouring city states of Greece, Women where trained to fight being expected to help defend the city should it ever be attacked, they where educated as the Spartan men would spend most of their time in the Barracks meaning it was up to the woman to oversee any family business, the running of the home, and anything else one would need an education for. Its also for these reasons property rights went matrlinealy (AK the woman would be the legal property owner and would inherit over her brothers as she would actually do shit with it instead of fucking off to train on harvest day)

think about it, the reason atreus is so dangerous (or atleast can become so dangerous), is the fact that not only is he part Giant, one of the most intelligent races (not to mention big and strong), but he is also the son of A) a spartan (which means fighting is in his blood), B) the grandson of Zues (so magical power is a given), C) the son of Kratos (so physical strength and i want to say wisdom, is going to be passed on) but he is also being mentored by Kratos, being taught how to fight, how to lead, how to think.

@@Sheccy_Shabaz Although we are unsure of exactly what happened to Greece after GoW 3 we do have some hints. The biggest of-course being the very vase we see in this video depicting Kratos on a pile of dead Gods because on the very back we see a partially ruined building being reconstructed with a man with a hammer working on one of the pillars and another using horses to bring another pillar/marble to assist in the rebuilding. In fact the phase overall shows that Greece is still in a situation where it can make art, they also know what happened on Olympus with Kratos killing all the Gods, and shows Greece rebuilding. The vase is also shows little dust and cobwebs meaning it must have be acquired recently. Plus with the Greek gods dead that would allow very similar gods to take their place... for example the Roman conquest of Greece resulting in Greece adopting the near identical Roman Pantheon (though on the surface Greek and Roman gods are the same, there are numerous major differences both in the roles of the gods and most importantly in the personality of the gods. For example Rome views Aphrodite or as Rome calls her Venus as the patron god of Rome and is a far more powerful and more important god, while in Greece she was just the goddess of love).

I know it’s an amazing thing from both an artistic choice and from a story perspective Artistic because we don’t need to see the man getting his head cut off we know he needs it and now he has it, but from a story perspective we don’t need to see it because Kratos is trying to be more restrained sure he’s cutting a mans head off but he’s not ripping it off his shoulders with extreme aggression and fury he’s restraining himself not only of his past as a god but of his past actions as well, Also can we really top Kratos Ripping a mans head off his shoulder that shits too Brutal to be beaten

Not to mention from a storytelling perspective, in the previous GOW most of the people he kills are his enemies. We as an auidience and a player, aren't suppose to get satisfaction from Mimir being decapitated, it's your ally who has been suffering for a hundred years, who has made amends for past mistakes, it's suppose to be a moment of release for Mimir, in terms of his suffering and his literal freedom.

Discipline and self control are things Kratos learned as a Spartan, but he's always been a beast of rage as well. It's interesting to see the dichotomy, because in this game you're most powerful when you enter Spartan Rage. Now, that could be a way of saying it's a controlled, practiced rage, but more likely it's using Spartan to draw from Kratos's past and saying "time to go nuts like you used to, dad".

"That's a mother's promise" that line right there I believe speaks volumes about Freya and her fate. She may be a God, but like alot of mothers- She is a mother before anything else, yes she was selfish and desperate when she made sure nothing could hurt/kill Baldur but then again a lot of mothers would go to great lengths to ensure that no harm befalls their children.
I think her motherness (Is that the proper term?) will be the reason for another pivot in her Character in GoW:Ragnarok, despite her motherness already being the change in her role from ally to enemy. A lot of people in the fandom already hate her for turning against Kratos and Boi but I on the other hand and extremely stoked to see how her story line progresses or ends in the Norse sector of GoW!

    • @AdventVFX

I see a redemption arc for her, she's getting lost in her grief after kratos killing her son which is entirely understandable at least from her perspective. I think at some point kratos might do something that'll make her realize that there wasn't any other way to deal with baulder and in the end he ended up that way cause of her while also being given many chances to still make the wrong choice that mad him too dangerous.

To be fair, she let her emotions cloud her judgment.
Rationally, she should be thanking Kratos for saving her life from the spawn that was trying to kill her for an honest mistake on her part. In her desire to protect her son, Freya ended up dooming him to misery and death. Hence the phrase, "People often encounter their fate on the road they take to avoid it." and how prophecies are nearly always self-fulfilling. Still, I can understand her desire to protect her child however she could.
Emotionally, she damned him to the deepest pits of Tartarus. Baldur was her boy, her child, and in protecting Freya, Kratos killed him. Yes, Baldur earned his death, but that doesn't matter to Freya. All she cared about was her son.
Baldur, however, didn't care. It wasn't that he couldn't understand his mom's desire to protect him, he did, but the fact of the matter is that he was far too consumed with self-loathing, self-hatred, and a single-minded determination for revenge at being robbed of feeling/sensation to care. He had a mother complex, in the worst possible way, and unlike Kratos, who didn't let his analytical mind go in exchange for pure, blind vengeance (most of the time, at least), Baldur had long ago tossed that aside, since he was invulnerable and could not be hurt/killed.

at first it was seemingly a very innocent question from a child to his idol dad. Later at the ending it is revealed that it is a piece of important information of his identity. a foreshadowing in form of childish interaction without exposition. Brilliant. Simply a briliant writing.

Some where in the books or something Loki turns into a female horse then a male horse comes along and... Well you know.
Then Loki gets pregnant and has a eight legged newborn horse.
He has some other children I think but I don't know since I was told all this in another video.
