3 steps closer to the Grim Scenarions Stategy Script (TM)! Gotta be honest that I wasn’t really expecting how this list turned out, but I really enjoyed it! Lunatic is kinda a weird one for me, since I think it’s kinda unclear what the purpose of the outsider it is, but maybe that’s just me. Excluding scripts designed around it, the Lunatic almost always figures it out, and then they’re just chillin’. The point about the deaths is interesting, though. Like the Butler tracking votes, if the Demon follows the Lunatic kills, the Lunatic can get a lot of information about who the demon doesn’t want to kill, which is very interesting.
@@milkmanofdeath Minion: Boomdandy, which admittedly has a bit less depth to it since you have to rely on being executed for it to go off, but I much prefer it to Goblin personally as I like the fact it doesn't need to claim publicly, and I think its ability is just much more fun. Outsider: Golem, which I think does have a decent bit of strategy to it, since you can choose to either punch someone to kill them (if you think they're a minion for instance), or to go for a demon candidate - it's also more fun to pull than a lot of other outsiders since it has an active ability rather than a passive or on death one.
Love to hear that Golem take. I have been killed multiple times on 6 as a confirmed good player: I have tried and failed to convince the other players that we're almost definitely going to get two more executions regardless so we should use them on demon candidates. I would have rated Moonchild and Golem a little higher, as I think there is strategy to their selections. Particularly for Moonchild who can make a decision on whether they want to hunt evil, confirm information, or minimise damage.
I recently encountered a situation where a player was stuck on the idea that the demon should be following his kills as the Lunatic and couldn't let go of that idea. I rarely follow the Lunatic's kills and largely put forth almost no effort to trick a Lunatic. It's better for evil to play their game rather than get wrapped up in what an outsider is doing.
@milkmanofdeath yeah, but if your kills don't matter to the demon, it helps further prove you are a Lunatic. If they do, you lead the Demon astray. And when it finally comes to killing you for being the Demon, you have plenty of info to hand the town. If you come out as the Lunatic, the strategic advantage you might provide goes away.
@@milkmanofdeathWhether the Demon is following the Lunatic's kills is useful information for when the Lunatic is on the block, but you as a Lunatic lose your value if you come out as being a Lunatic.
Howdy! You received the viewer token! Each time you watch a video you can like and subscribe! And doggos are always cute never stinky faces! (Ignore I am the ogre who scritched Artemis. That’s irrelevant.)
Yeah, I had a chambermaid bluff that didn’t work anymore so I claimed evil goon. Goon is a great fallback bluff. I love coming out midgame as goon or as a bluff :)
Interesting takes, I might have missed it in the introduction but it was a bit unclear to me exactly how you were rating outsiders - assuming it was purely strategic depth like the minions? Had an interesting moonchild game lately (the game was more interesting than the moonchild), it's definitely a character that needs careful script building I feel. I got widow pinged day 1, outed it, had a gambler confirm me that night as I was the execution and picked someone asking to be picked for either Saint/farmer shenanigans. Seemed way too townsfolky in that situation, but also not an opportunity to pass up.
Controversial ? Definitely butler and atheist that high yea... drunk i think is auto-s tier. It defines BotC in so many ways. Games feel WEIRD if no drunk on script. Just being on script changes sooo much. It's s tier all day
If we were looking at character power or importance I agree with you fully. Strategically it’s a bit awkward because you don’t know you are the Drunk. I agree with you that it’s absolutely the defining role in BotC, but that doesn’t mean it’s strategically interesting on its own.

We're now 2/2 for my favourite character in the category being in D tier, you love to see it
Which are they? I'd love to hear where you think they belong!
D tier doesn’t mean it’s a bad character or unfun just that we don’t think it has the same level of strategic depth as other characters
@@emmacone-roddy762 Oh yeah of course, just a funny observation I'm making

I for one, would definitely listen to an hour and a half of clocktower rambling 😊

I agree we should have ranked moonchild higher ... (spoilers????)
If you are a Lunatic, think of yourself like a Demon. Then feed the Demon who you don't want to eat. Wait for your minions to come to you.

I’ve never seen a lunatic being properly deceived in a game

Yeah it’s strategic depth
Edit: I almost said something dumb re: golem in final 3 lol
Love this stuff as always!!

@milkmanofdeath true, different criteria
@@EzFlyers10 That's not to say I don't agree with you. Drunk is the role that drew me into BotC in the first place! :)
