I'm so glad to know my "All YSK learn 3 pings instead of 2" wish was enjoyed! It was touched on a bit in the podcast, but one reason I like subtle simple wishes like that is they can have surprising complexity!
In my case, the game was based on TB, so there were potentially up to 3 players that would be impacted. If the washerwoman was impacted, it might cause enough confusion to not get a potential virgin nomination on d1, leaving more time for a virgin to be killed/poisoned/accidentally nominated by an outsider or evil. I also trusted that the ST might provide a role that may not be immediately confirmed by the player, such as monk or ravenkeeper. If the librarian was impacted, then there was the potential to see 3 people as drunk or recluse, which could impact how people processed information in the game, or that maybe one of the pings of a saint could be on the demon who could bluff saint to avoid execution for a day. If the investigator was impacted, there's more suspicion flying around and a demon could potentially look like a minion.
It also meant that I could know who was telling the truth about their YSK info, which was important because I knew it was a poppygrower game and I had to be damsel hunting. This did turn out somewhat useful when Etreides the damsel claimed to be an investigator with 2 pings, but unfortunately they died in the night before I could decide if they were more likely evil on my team, or if I should damsel guess them. It also meant that when Christine came out knowing that there were 3 mutants, I could be pretty certain that the +1 character that game was a mutant and I shouldn't be looking for any new demon/minion abilities to find my team.
And also messing with Christine is just a fun time. Added bonus! :D

Always great to hear my favorite host and my favorite other host! I'm glad y'all talked about the social aspect of this character as well as the functional aspects as well. While can't ever make someone have fun, it's often too easy to make people not have fun if you're not taking conscious steps to avoid it. Giving game-breaking power into the control of the players, it's a big thing for players to consider as well as ST's: what can I do that helps my team win that doesn't make the game unfun for the rest of the players. Also, the point you made on how Clocktower has a different social standard than other social deduction games is one of the main reasons that it is one of my favorite games of all time, and by far and away my favorite social deduction game. Kindness is a rule, and it really takes away the stress out of trying to lie and bluff in the game, because even if I'm caught out in a lie or outed as evil or falsely accused, people aren't just gonna ignore me or make me feel ostracized, especially in this community. No one's gonna believe a word I say, sure, but to paraphrase a very smart man, they won't be dicks about it.

I love the rule "Don't be a dick!" It is also my internal summary of the ruleset i'm usually presented with whenever i join a new Discord server.

I don’t think it should be the players’ responsibility to hold back and ensure a fun and fair game. It’s the storytellers’ responsibility. There should be some kind of wording that prevents the wizard from wishing they could just win.

I think it’s something of a community responsibility. Players should try to make the game fun for everyone because otherwise people aren’t having fun which sucks.
There is wording in the wizard! It’s the “if granted” part. If the st doesn’t think they can cost and balance the wish to make a fun and fair game, they can say no (ideally while explaining why and offering to workshop the wish to something more fun and fair)

Public announcement: “X wins the game! Congratulations, X. Also, we will be continuing play in an alternate universe with the same set-up and game state, except that X has no ability.”
