The original price of the EK9 was around $17k, when adjusted for inflation that's about $33k today. Yes, $47k is too expensive for an FL5 IMHO. I drove my friends FK8 and while it's a nice car, there are many other cars out there that give you more bang for your buck, especially since a lot of the aero on the FK8 were fake! Now, Honda thinks they can increase the price by nearly $5k because the aero on the FL5 are now functional? Power wise, it's nearly identical to the FK8, just tuned differently from about 30-70mph. The Type R name as well as many others were simply ruined by clout. I'm glad I didn't pick up an FL5, especially seeing how much they've depreciated in the past few months! Used here in Cali is on average about $47k, but keep in mind that dealerships had $15-25k markups on these Type R's. Also, our taxes are outrageous at 10.25% where I live...
I own a Camaro SS 1LE, and I'm with you until you talk about the Type R. Go look up the Nurburgring times for that car. It's an amazing handling car. It's worth every penny if you live near twisties.
