It's not about the whiskey, it's the people you share it with!

I saw the bottle change a week or two ago on the shelf and got really excited. Proof shot up and an age statement?! Love it Jim Beam!
SLB channel just put it up against the WT 101, and they preferred the Jim Beam.
I had Jim Beam Black tonight NEAT.... OMG It is really really impressive... I will buy again...
These just hit my local Total Wine and we’re selling up pretty quick. I Actually have the eight year age stated black Jim Beam and hope to do the comparison soon. The label looks really good on the Jim beams seven year.
It was $20 at my newly opened Total Wine. A great price for a 7-year!
Saw this for $22.99 in my market. Gonna go grab one this weekend!
I actually really liked the Jim Beam Black. So you saying the 7 year Black is better makes me really want to get one 😅
Kurt @SLB loves it and he isn't a Jim Bean fan!
I like that there's another budget pour with good value to put on the shelf. Another one to put out for my not-to-discriminating bandmates. Great review, thanks Jason!
Exactly correct! Beam's response to Heaven Hill's 1793 raising the age and proof from 86 to 90 proof.
I’d rather have EW BiB over 1783. I need to try Beam dark.
Early Times bib is pretty good too & Ezra Brooks 99 … I also like the EW bib & WT 101 , all winners for the price point.
I brought this video up right now, because I'm having Jim Beam Black Aged 7 year at this moment. And It is really good. And I'm going to buy a back up bottle tomorrow. It is that good !!!
I had the same exact reaction. I was super surprised at how good JB Black 7 was. Better on the nose, better taste, and an okay finish. Would love if it was 100 proof but it gets an "A" from me. Great video!
Just saw one of these today...may have to go back and grab one. Nice review...thanks Jason.
I passed on it the other day thinking it was the same with a new label, I will have to pick one up, back in the day I used to drink white label Beam when it was 90 proof
Cheers 🍻
Great review! I am becoming to appreciate the Beam profile. Cheers!
Awesome review! I’ll definitely be on the look out for this! Need that triple base ASAP 🙌🏻
Thank you for adding the details of what you are tasting, in print, at the bottom of the screen. Many bourbon channels skip over the name real fast and you have to go back and view it several times.
Appreciate the review. So close to 90k. I’m not the biggest Beam fan but definitely want to try this
Another great review. I will be on the lookout for this bottle.
Always good to see some high value budget bourbons! I’ll keep an eye out for this one.
Enjoined the content. Great to see you tasting budget bourbons.
There are a lot of great bourbons under $100.00
Well done!
My sentiments exactly. 30-80 range has some great quality 🥃👌🏼
Just bought some today. Here in Texas it is $33 for a 1.75L bottle which works out to be just over $14 for a 750ml size. Can't beat that bargain for an easy sipper!
This vs their Single Barrel?
I really appreciate your time in bringing the different kinds of bourbons that repackage the product….. okay I’m going to try it… again thanks
Great video and review Jason! I’ll need to check this one out. Cheers🥃
Your review motivated me to find a bottle of this. Low and behold I found the last one today and it didn’t disappoint. This is a fantastic value and a great summer sipper.
It was a no-brainer to pick this up in my area yesterday for $20. After the first taste, I wasn't terribly impressed. But after letting it sit a few minutes, it opened up and I was getting the sweetness and back end Beam peanuty blast. Solid pour for the price.
Looking forward to seeing this on the shelf. I like the Jim Beam Black. Looking forward to seeing it go back to an age statement and a little extra proof. I wonder how this will compare to Baker’s with both being 7 years.
Great review Jason…. Big fan of all things Jim Beam. That nutty note hits my palate just right. Would love a head to head versus the Knob Creek 9 year.
Saw this on the shelf for 18.99 back home. Definitely going to have to give it a try!
Sounds like a great warm up or daily drinker
Thank you sir ... This one is on my radar, now ... 😉
Jim Beam Black had an 8 year age-statement on it ~2009. I used to get it all the time. Then it went away. I still have a few of those bottles.
Yep. Mentioned that on the beginning of the video
Ha. My bad. On the couch next to the Mrs. Was reading the CC at first.
I’ll have to get a bottle and try it. I tried knob creek 9 again the other day. It’s been a while since the last time. I was surprised at how sweet it was as well.
I appreciate reviews on bottles at all price points
This is an interesting surprise. I’ve always been a fan of Jim Beam Black. The bourbons it could compare to are all my favorites. Thanks for the notice, I see they have it at my local store. I’ll have to try it 👍
Looking forward to you tasting it against others!
Looking forward to trying it. JB was my first bourbon over 40 years ago…
I just started seeing this in the last week or two, about 22 for a 750ml and about 35 for a 1.75L. I've never tried the "extra aged" because it's only 86 proof. Between the age statement and the fact that it's a respectable 90 proof I had to try the JB 7YR and I'm happy with it.
Picked one up today. Pretty good.
They added a 7year statement to their rye last year. All positive steps forward.
Used to be an 8 year and it was the first bottle I ever bought
I just commented the same. Missed this one. I still have a few. Good value
Great review as always Jason. This sounds great for the price.
I still hunt for the old 8 year old ones that I rarely find out in the middle of nowhere liquor stores.
im more intrigued by the jim beam single barrels at 108 proof
I would like to see a blind comparison!
I love the single barrels
The SiB is a hidden gem to me, and I like it more then Knob Creek 9. At $38 by me, it's on the higher end of the price range, but I love it and keep them stocked. If you like the Beam profile, give it a shot!
@@AlexDraut I agree!
@@AlexDraut I don't even bother with the regular KC 9 when the KC SiB is always available. Best value on the shelf.
Knowing now that it’s a 7 year is even better. Gonna have to give this a try.
I'm intrigued to try this. The new bookers Springfield batch is my favorite bookers in the past few years. Hardins creek last year was pretty awesome. Jim beam is really greatly improving and still has very fair pricing compared to wild turkey , willet; high west etc...
I will be looking for it. SLB did a review of it too. They also liked it. Cheers
I've always enjoyed JB Black!
I also picked up a bottle over the weekend. Without doing the side-by-side, I can tell it's better and more developed than the previous iteration. I actually got a bit of fruitiness on it.
Thanks for the review. I just purchased a bottle (South Florida) for $21.99 + tax = $23.53. Great budget bourbon and I'll be purchasing another one very soon.
Just read Fred Beams book, and really like Knob Creek stuff. Will have to look for this one.
Jim Beam just killing it!
Just bought a backup bottle at Sam's for $18.00 And I'm enjoying some tonight NEAT..... Good Stuff...
Great review, Jason! Light Booker vibes sounds great! If this is as enjoyable as OGD Bonded or OF 100, I’m in! 😊🥃🥃
Can't wait I'll this is released in my market. Would love to put it up against some of my favorite budget bottles; 1783, David Nicholson 1843, EW single barrel, buffalo trace and I'll throw in old tub
I just picked this up for 19 bucks at the Sams Club liquor store. At that price I'm very satisfied with what Jim Beam has done here. Great for a beginner and good for a summer dram. Don't feel guilty about pouring it over ice or using in cocktails. Not amazing neat but pretty darn good. I appreciate the age statement in this price point. I think it'll be successful for them.
Love the beam love
I can’t find this anywhere in the UK! Hopefully given time it will start to appear on shelves, thanks for the review! 🔥
Sounds like you just set up a good comparison video. Cheers!
I will def be snagging; this if I see it. Maybe it’s the label change but I’m such a huge JB fan lately.
I bought a couple at Sam's Club for $20 each and it's great. I've always liked JB Black and recommend it to new drinkers. This one is really good.
Will give it a shot.
Sounds like a great budget bourbon. I’ll pick one up next time I go to the liquor store.
I love Jim Beam Black at 86 good easy sipper that was way better than white label. I went hunting for it this past weekend here in Colorado and I still have yet to see it. Glad for bump in proof and age statement. 😀🥃I say a fair com comparison would be against Elijah Craig small batch at 94 proof and Evan Williams 1783
To be honest the only Bean profile I like is KC. Went to the distillery last weekend and did buy a Bookers LE (according to the distillery) and it is really good!!
Never crossed my mind to buy Jim Beam while perusing store . May have to do it.
More murdered out char 5s..that one is so 🔥 sad I missed it...cheers I enjoy the hell out of your videos.
I'll buy. Love Knob Creek lil better
I can't wait to compare it to Jim Beam Single Barrel. I enjoy JB SiB and at around $32 here. The new Black could be a really good daily drinker at $24
Not gonna lie, this one has me intrigued! I do love Beam products, but have yet to fall in love with any of their eponymous releases.
I like the JB black on the rocks. I have not tried it neat. I also like the SiB and double oaked as well as the knob creek I have had. I think the only product of theirs I have tried and did not like is their white label. I agree that it would be interesting to test this against OF 100, WT101, ECSB. I would even like to see it compared to JD bonded. It is a similar price for the liter bottle.
they did right by that label, new drinkers will take it seriously and not think its some cheap bottom shelf. now did it have a cork?
This was a great bottle just wish it had a longer finish and possibly higher proof but i will definitely get it again
1783 is Evan is better in my opinion but it's a nice beam product
I went into the liquor store thinking about tequila and margaritas, but then I saw the new black! Got it for $27. It's definitely a value bourbon that competes with the usual suspects around $30. It's velvety, and hits with lots of caramel and spice. Props to Beam for reaching out to the daily drinkers 😅
Side note, I picked up Fever Tree distillers cola at the same time and the combination of the two for a whiskey and coke is phenomenal
I’m back for another comment. I just picked up a bottle. Thanks for highlighting this! Only the 1.75 was available at my store so that’s what I got.
It’s wild to me that this is on shelves but it’s not even on the Jim Beam website. Why not have a little fanfare to highlight the improvements? They’re doing a sneaky release.
I paid $21 at TW in Florida it's a top 10 for under $25...thanks Jason
Glad to see a new release that’s actually customer-friendly. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’d gladly pay $26 for this, instead of $70 for my bottle of Baker’s 7 (which I typically add water to anyway). I’d prefer a cork to screw-cap, but I’ll settle:).
I would love to see how this compares to Jim Beam single barrel as they are similar prices but different proofs.
Looks like a very good value
The JB Black made it pretty far into my blind tastings so I'm curious to taste this one
I've never been a fan of low proof Beam products while I love most Knob Creek, Bookers, etc. Might have to give them a try again although I would prefer if it was a 100 proof.
I did not realize you were from ohio! Now I like you even better😊 I grew up there and graduated from Ohio State but have been gone for many decades
Just purchased a 1.75 bottle of this today at Total Wine in Allen Tx for 39.99. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is for the price. Def a buy for those who like other Beam bourbons.
Thanks for that review. I do think it's pretty damn good. I'm going to put it against some other beam bourbons to see how much it holds up
jim beam extra aged neat is good im looking forward to the seven year
You should do a match up between this and the heaven Hill 7-year bottled in bond
Still one of my favorites, use to be the only bourbon I would ever buy.
Still $19.99 in my area! Great mixer bourbon
When I saw your review, I was a little stunned. "Jason is reviewing a basic bottle like Jim Beam Black? What's going on here?" I've put JB Black so far back in my rear-view mirror, I forgot I ever drank it. Now you got me curious. Just when I thought I was done with Jim Beam, you pulled me back in...🤔
Some people are easily manipulated. There's no reason to be embarrassed by purchasing a JB product. Except for maybe the white label stuff.
I've had my eyes out for it after see a couple good praises, SLB in piticular. Im not that much of a Beam fan aside from KC, the nuttiness of Beam products just isn't my cup of tea. Just found the 7yr yesterday and I gotta say, its pretty dang good especially for the money. Definitely something I'd keep in my cabinet for daily sipper duty at least. For what it costs, ill back it up, why not!
Can you stack it up against the benchmark series? I think that would be formidable competition from a price point.
Beam had a couple great budget limited releases with the Repeal Batch and the Distiller's Cut.. Curious how this one compares to either of those.
Hope we see this in the UK market for less than £40.
Got one today for $22!
I wish the proof were a tad higher, but at least it’s higher than before and 7 years and $27 MSRP, I definitely need to pick this up. I’ll be curious to blind this vs Benchmark Single Barrel (which is also 95 proof)!
they came out with a jim beam single barrel all at 108 proof.
Thanks - now I am spending more money. Funny how we've chatted about how underrated 1783 is!
Need to check out the new version! And are you rocking Jordan 1 lows? So underrated.
So close. Lol
I want to see how this goers vrs Bakers 7 which is my Fav Beam!
In one comparison I saw this week Jim Beam Black Aged 7years won over Knob Creek 9 yr, Early times and Bakers's 7 yr...
I saw a comment that someone who works at a liquor store said this new 7 Year is replacing the Beam Extra-Aged.
So it's a proofed down Bookers for only 26 bucks sounds like a pretty good deal.
Just picked up a bottle of this in SoCal for $20.99 and a bottle of Buffalo Trace for $21.99.
Hemingway Signature Edition or Stellum Black Rye... what's the pick?
I just saw a great review by Kurt! Why can’t I think of the channel name! He was pleased and isn’t usually a Beam fan! As time goes on I’m almost solely into good quality peated single malts! Yikes alcohol has a lot of carbs! Maybe cut back a bit if you are getting healthier!
It's slbdrinks.Great channel!
@@madhatter5331Yes!! Thank you so much! The channel is awesome - agreed!! Cheers! 🙂
