Thank you for the great review! Seems like even 5 years ago Marlondo was a much better deal that saddleback. Have you seen the Polare Original bags. They are under $200 and have some great quality at that price point.
"Potential negative space false impression"... That is like a genius version of something a stoner would make up. It may be the first time in the English language those words were used together in a sentence. I bet with extreme training and perseverance, one could learn to put things in the front pocket even with it's perceived, but not actual, lack of negative potential space.
I can certainly see why you think that to be the case given how much I love their bags. I actually received the saddleback as a christmas gift and paid full price for the marlondo.
Why does Marlondo have so many flaps. There is no reason to have a second thing to open after the first thing you open. In other words why is there a flap within a flap. You only need pockets in a flap. Both look nice though.
I found it useful because I used the inside pockets for small knick knacks and they would fall out into the main compartment when the bag tipped over in any way. The internal pocket keeps that from happening.

Could you please let us know which bag has the thickest leather? Marlondo or Saddleback? what is the mm or oz?
I will only buy the black bag if the center strap is removed. Brass on black is not going to work for me.
they do allow customization where for a minimal fee you can change anything on the bag
you can customize the bags if you contact them. I believe it is a flat 50 dollar fee plus any additional if you choose more expensive materials.
