"Potential negative space false impression"... That is like a genius version of something a stoner would make up. It may be the first time in the English language those words were used together in a sentence. I bet with extreme training and perseverance, one could learn to put things in the front pocket even with it's perceived, but not actual, lack of negative potential space.

I expect it’s pretty clear some one copied a design.

Veg tan is usually stiffer than chrome tan. Does it take long for this bag to loosen and soften up?

You claim that bag is +/- 8 years old but I sure don't see the age I would expect to see from a SB product of that age. I own several SB products and when you actually use them, they show signs of use.

I've been briefcase shopping and the Marlando looks very impressive in this review but I personally can't get past them being made in China.

Thank you for the great review! Seems like even 5 years ago Marlondo was a much better deal that saddleback. Have you seen the Polare Original bags. They are under $200 and have some great quality at that price point.

Which one can carry 40 lb. of paperwork, computer and tools. Then survive when I throw it in the back of a work truck to make room for my guys and not worry about getting beat around??

Sounds like you paid too much for that bag, mate. I’d ask for a refund and get something that’s not so overpriced.

So I'v had my SBL bag for over 10 years now - be interesting to see a similar comparsion of both bags after a considerable time.I'm wondering if the brass in the Marlondo would tarnish?

I appreciate this review, but it feels a little bit one sided. I think the marlondo will be on my radar because of your video, but it felt a bit salesy and started to feel this was lacking a true unbiased eye toward the end. Hmm... Now to go look for a bunch of other videos to see if they all felt the same way as you did, before I purchase this SBL in my cart right now...

There is no comparison! Saddleback is so much superior. Marlondo uses cheap brass plated hardware where Saddleback uses superior surgical quality stainless steel. Marlondo is simply cheap looking on all fronts!

U dont say about leather quality, it’s not a detail.. SBL looks better in any case..

Just looking at the sewing on the corners there is obviously a difference. One is smooth and rounded, the Marlando is not. If something as small as that is so obvious, what else is there that is not seen?

Beautiful but impractical.

Looks lie a pretty amazing bag too bad they don´t ship to Europe since they make the bags in China if I got it right.

316 stainless is a FAR superior choice for materials in place of brass. And the 3 part bottom is just another area where the put cost savings over durability... this is not an impartial review

I have the coffee brown SBL bag. It is amazing. The Marlondo isn't bad looking but I prefer the looks of the SBL. I completely disagree with you about the Barlondo being made in China. I absolutely will not buy anything made in China. Not going to happen. The SBL has a warranty that can't be beat. My bag has held up great and looks better every year. Don't know if I could say the same about the Marlondo. Great review.

I have both. In terms of leather cutting and uniform stitching SBL wins. I love Marlondo veg tan but I prefer it unlined.

Not sure if someone else has said this, but Saddleback's tobacco leather is vegetable dyed. It's my color of choice for SBL products.

Would it leave stain on my white clothes since there is no lining inside?

I also have this bag, in fact it's one of three I have bought from Floto because I was so impressed with their quality. The lining is actually cotton. A great looking leather weekend bag.

Useful videos. I’ve been thinking about Texbo. Do you own a Polare bag? I’ve also been looking into this brand as well.

I’m a bit skeptical with the authenticity of the amazon link in your decision since saddleback leather only sells products via their website, however the company who is selling on amazon has like 97/100 ratings so for $50 I’ll bite. Looking forward to receiving to confirm it’s the real deal, seems like this model is a few years old hence the price.

I have a messenger from this time period and the hardware is starting to rust. The buckle, lobster claps, d rings and O ring.
