Hey !!! I love you so much this really makes me so happy ! I watched the whole video ! It really truly means so much to me to have you break it down and really understand the decisions I made in singing this song ! Hope to get to pick your brain one day!
Agree, such a bunch of nice people who love music. Have a lovely day :) Also, screw you, screw everyone, I hope you all slip on a banana peel, bumping your head on the floor and stubbing your toe on the underside of your kitchen table at the same time >:(
Beautiful! I am an avid Bonnie Raitt fan and I doubted he could do this one justice, but his rendition is absolutely exquisite. So easy and effortless! I am amazed.
It is enlightening and impressive to hear someone so knowledgable about something that they can break a performance of it down so that even someone like me can not only understand everything that makes it wonderful but also enjoy it in much deeper ways that I never experienced, nor did I even know exist. Thank you.
Literally stole the thought out of my head. I was a band kid, but I always loved singing. I dont know all of the technical terms or proper techniques, but I know when I hear something special and she doesnt make people feel low brow when she explains things. I think its because she just loves music and really wants to help people understand the intricacies that she loves.
I am not really one to comment - and I adore Teddy but honestly, I found myself watching her more! Her reactions, her taking in his voice and watching her be surprised by his greatness was just plain fun! :)
Elizabeth Zharoff sets a new standard for programming, whether it’s musical appreciation and breaking down the vocal mechanics, or explaining the substantive artistry of the classic theatre/opera and modern studio performances. Thank you “The Charismatic Voice” for sharing your genuine knowledge and stimulating energy as you set the bar higher on all fronts.
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time listening to Teddy Swims and I loved this performance. When he's singing this song, you get the feeling that his heart is hanging from his sleeve w/ his unique and incredible voice. Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
Ms. Zharoff? Thank you for enlightening us on Teddy Swims! 🤜🤛 You're correct...He most definitely has a comforting sound. Thank you again. I'm a ridiculously huge fan of yours. 🤦😁 Thank you for everything that you do. Great Great Content and Education. 🙏🙂
Wow. I've never heard a vocal coach analyse such a beautiful song/cover, it's so illuminating as to why it sounds so good. You articulate all the things and details i hear, without realising it, that all get added together and explain that amazing listening experience. Thank you, this was an education.
why are you so amazing honestly you have made my night better you are a true ray a light just your smile and the way you look and everything about you is amazing keep it up
Teddy Swims is awesome it would definitely be worthwhile diving more into his music. He covers a wide range of styles with his unique voice. I look forward to more reaction videos of him from you!
19:10 That is totally an 'onions in the room' kind of moment there; notice how it ends with a sniff :'~) Beautiful R & A of a beautiful, authentic singer.
I'm sitting at work crying because of this song and the timing. I'm currently starting the process of divorce and. This hurts. This hurts so much. Thank you. Until now I haven't had the opportunity to actually cry about this process. Sorry for the long post. And Thank You.
Male or female, if we live long enough we all eventually feel loss. The best that we can hope for is for it to be at the end of a long fulfilling life. Eventually there will come another day when you can smile, and eventually one where you can laugh and love again as you once did. Every woman makes you a different person, and it is the same for them. No one in a relationship is unchanged, and that is the thing to remember and look forward to.
I've been there, brother. It's good that you're letting the pain happen. I avoided it for a long time, and it made me bitter. It wasn't until I let it pass through me that I could begin to think about the future.
This is a first listen for me as well. I love the emotion caught in the song. It's so authentic. It has longing, heartbreak, disgust, and hopelessness in it. All emotions you feel when you have loved someone who lead you on because they didn't want to see what the truth would do to you. I can feel it because I've been there.
came across your channel today.... omg ... what a voice this guy has... loved this song performed by George Michael (RIP) but OMG this guy is so amazing
I'm relatively new to Teddy Swims music, what a voice and the guy sings with pure heart! His song (I believe he wrote it) Bed on Fire is really really great!
I have known of Teddy for a very long spell... this is on my Staylist... but your "I just love the way he is riding the air"... that might be the BEST thing I've ever heard. Hvala vam, Dear. You and yours keep Kicking this channel so well with the choices and production... all the Loves. Proverbial Pom Poms shaking. =)
I've actually never listened to him so this is a new one for me - and I think he's fantastic. The emotions and the fragility he conveys really tug at my heat strings. The end with the crying/sweat reminds me of a friend who complains that his "eyes are sweating!". It also reminds me of one of my favourite Alice Cooper ballads, I Never Cry. "It's just a heartache that got caught in my eye/And you know I never cry, I never cry"
I'm sure glad he got signed... Your statement that "Perfect singing should have all kinds of imperfections to show expression" is the quote of the century. So many producers really kill the whole vibe of a song by using all the toys (technology) at their disposal. You go girl........
I happened across Teddy three years ago and was floored by his, his….. damn everything about the way he sings! He has epic masterful control of his voice! The first time I heard him singing I wasn’t even looking at my phone and couldn’t believe that sound was emanating from him!! I just have no idea why this star isn’t being blasted on the air waves? When you want to sit on a comfy couch with a glass of (?) and mellow out? You play some Teddy! When you sing a song like you wrote it…..magic happens!!
Man alive, I'm sat here in tears. what an amazing cover of a tragic song. You can hear the hurt, aren't we so lucky to be able to listen. That was beautiful, thank you.
Teddy Swims singing is so effortless it conceals an amazing level of precision and depth. Seems like there is something new to enjoy and appreciate every time I hear him sing this song. Thank you for such a delightful and specific commentary on style and technique.
@TheCharismaticVoice I loved your review and your laughs and giggles and "ooh I got the chills" are exactly how I respond to his talent. He has a SIGH built into his sound that just sends me. I am so glad you gave him a listen. (But you KILLED ME every time you hit the pause button. aagghh! LOL) Love Teddy so much.
I first heard him on an ad between videos & was hooked. I went down the Teddy rabbit hole & completely forgot who i was listening to when i heard his voice the very first time. Thank you for your reaction to this, it was Great😊❤️
Greetings young lady! I absolutely loved your reaction to this wonderful rendition of this song by Teddy Swims!! Not only are u 100% right in your praise of him and his abilities....I'm also astonished by the things that u teach your audience!! I learn so much and are compelled to contemplate on the voluminous info and knowledge regarding music and singing that u pass down to us with every reaction vid that u do!! Wow I did not expect to be tearing up. You’re totally right about the perfectly imperfect emotional singing. Hit some heartstrings and old feelings lol
I have a kind of a left field request, Loreena Mckennitt, All Souls Night? Thank you for introducing me to some great new music and revisiting other marvelous favorites
Yes, Teddy Swims is his stage name. Swims is an acronym that stands for "Somebody Who Isn't Me Sometimes". It goes with his love for a variety of music genres. And I can attest that this guy is a class act, as I have had the opportunity to exchange personal text messages with him. This is one rabbit hole you have to swim through. 😜 May I suggest his cover of "Use Me" by Bill Withers?
He is apparently the sweetest and kindest man you'll ever meet - so happy to see your channel expose people to him and other relatively lesser known artist :)
I think on some level, we all can relate to the lyrics, & the way Teddy delivers those lyrics, touches your very soul 💗💗💗 Really loved your great reaction!!!
This song has always been a favorite of mine, so not going to lie, I started bawling my eyes out because of the rawness and comforting coming from the singer. I love your reactions and I so wish I had a music/choral teacher like you when I was in school. Thank you for sharing your reaction, your explanations and I just love your channel.
I have been in love with his voice since I first saw this video. I was instantly hooked! And I love watching others fall in love with it too. Thank you SO much for sharing this! And, bonus, it premiered on my birthday. 😁
Teddy makes sound feel it's it's just coming out naturally and he's just channeling it, soo naturally. Great analysis - pointed out things I didn't notice before! REQUEST: Please, please, please do a review of Jack Savoretti, either "Breaking the Rules (Live Acoustic)" or "Things I Thought I'd Never Do (Live from Annabel's), please please lol. He's not new but is new to most people. Went from sneaking up on us to selling out Wembley just before Covid!! He's unique but sort of a mix between David Dramin(sp?) and Andrea Bocelli !!)
Love the images you conjure when describing when/how tones are created. It really points out the temporal existence of a vocal line or phrase. Another reason to appreciate technology.
I am surprised that you hadn't heard him before. I really enjoy his cover of this song and he has an excellent sound for this one and he obviously planned it out in detail. He has a very deep selection of covers and some hit it out of the park while others are okay but not great. I will be waiting to hear your reaction. Love your channel. Another song to check out is Haley Reinhart, "Lay it down". It's just her and an organist. Impressive.
So glad you did this!! He does a funny one where everyone is showcasing their talent and being silly. Sucker for you by Jonas Brothers is the song they cover!
You might consider listening to Shinedown doing their cover of Lynard Skynard's song "Simple Man". The original is one of my favorite songs of all time and Shinedown did a great job of making it their own while honoring the original. I appreciate your open mind and the way that you find things to love across diverse genera and styles. Keep up the good work.
Please react to something by Rachel Price, either with Lake Street Dive, her collaboration with Vilray or her solo work. Especially her cover of 'White Rabbit' on 'Live From Here'
Speaking of Bonnie Raitt, I'm going to recommend her version of "Feels Like Home" (one of Randy Newman's loveliest songs in what feels like the definitive version).
Teddy Swims does so many covers well - I really like his cover of Billie Eilish's "idontwannabeyouanymore" - a Teddy Bear is one of the Merch options on his website - he is an endearing person, warm and gentle; as someone below suggested, his cover of Chris Stapleton's Tennessee Whiskey is pretty awesome. Do you ever listen to pieces that don't feature a vocalist? I was thinking of Tina S - her guitar version of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or Steve Vai's "For the Love of God". Even if you didn't react to them, I think you would love seeing her in action at around 16 yrs of age - for your own viewing and listening pleasure.
Hello Кирилл Першин, you can leave your request/recommendations here as Elizabeth and her staff read through all the comments for suggestions. FYI, there is a very long list of requests/recommendations and that list continues to grow as we speak; look at all the requests being made on this one video alone. (side note: continue to request your song/performer and the more likes/upvotes it receives, the more likely it will happen). Thanks!
Hey !!! I love you so much this really makes me so happy ! I watched the whole video ! It really truly means so much to me to have you break it down and really understand the decisions I made in singing this song ! Hope to get to pick your brain one day!
Bump this comment people!
I mean, we totally should have tea time together! I'll send you a message back on IG soon. ;-)

She is by far the best one doing reactions on here. I love her honesty, but love of music. Her comments are so real.
And she's the real deal. An opera singer on a entirely different level.
Man, Teddy has so much gritty soul that gives new dimension to this song that pierces my heart! Beautiful man!

Love the way you broke this down!! Teddy definitely has a gorgeous voice ❤. ✌️💛🙂
Elizabeth, how do you suggest a song for vocal analysis? Can only paid subscribers do this?
Hello Кирилл Першин, you can leave your request/recommendations here as Elizabeth and her staff read through all the comments for suggestions. FYI, there is a very long list of requests/recommendations and that list continues to grow as we speak; look at all the requests being made on this one video alone. (side note: continue to request your song/performer and the more likes/upvotes it receives, the more likely it will happen). Thanks!
@@kirbys1370 thanks for the info
Your hair looks absolutely fabulous! Don't know why it stood out to me in this video, but it did.
