      Hi charismatic voice,love yr videos,I've been watching since u started on here,
      I like how genuine yr reactions are, sometimes others react for the camera which spoils the experience in my little humble opinion.
      I know you like Chris Stapleton... Wud u do a react to a track of his called "whiskey and you" please.
      Now I know it's not crazy vocals in this one unlike in some of his music which is liquid gold,
      To me it's the story (words) of "whiskey and you" that not per say shines more than Chris but heightens the experience even more,
      Much respect and love

    My Grandpa passed when I was 8 years old, he was my hero. I was sitting in the kitchen with just my Grandma and myself listening to the radio( this was a rare time the house was empty) this song came on and she started to tear up. I asked her what was wrong and she said “ this is the song me and your grandpa danced to for the first time together, what I would t do for one more dance with him. “ I took her by the hand and walked in the living room and said “ I know grandpas not here, but I’d love to dance with you.” That was our last dance together. Love you Grandma ❤

    The back story behind this performance is absolutely amazing. He was a nervous wreck, as he had a strong fear of performing in front of others, and further more, his parents were in the audience that night watching him perform for the first time to others. He said himself that he nearly fainted right before he started the song. Most of the start of his career was performing at small rented halls and venues to African American Marines on leave or being provided entertainment for in southern California, where the band got their name from. He used to perform on a completely empty stomach, because he said he would throw up if he ate before singing in front of others! One of the greatest vocal talents of all time, yet deathly afraid to sing to others! He didn't take lessons, either, just naturally started to sing and Ad-lib his vocals. Amazing!

    • @zanhar7688
      @zanhar7688 3 ปีที่แล้ว +114

      Apparently his stage fright was a big part of the ‘brothers’ splitting up. As their fame rapidly grew, they were booked into bigger venues and became the headliners instead of just one act in a show. Bill wanted to ride the wave but Bobby couldn’t handle it. As Bill said “Bobby never signed up to be a rock star”

      @waynejohnson1304 So true, theres a lot of songs Dame Shirley has sung that she owns! Big Spender, and i have Peggy Lees original, but Dame Shirley owns it. There are very few artists or songs that get truly owned, Bobby singing this is one, anything Judith Durham sang she absolutely owned. Sinatra and My Way, actually Gerry Marsden, You'll Never Walk Alone, he just owned it. John Farnham You're The Voice, even Celine Dion bowed to him on that! But i think everyone comes back to Bobby Hadfield, for Unchained Melody. We are so lucky to have been around in the Golden Era of music, From the 40's through to mid 80's.

    Last night I watched 25 - 30 Reaction videos of Bobby's performance. 5 or 6 were done by vocalists. All the women, vocalists included, just melted in their own ways, and the guys were equally awed by the potential of love that could evoke what this song by Bobby does. This is the only comment I wrote, though nearly every single video deserved it, but I have to admit, the Charismatic Voice woman does such a professional musical analysis, while melting like all the other ladies, that her stops and comments only add not take away anything from Bobby's performance. Oh, I should add that of all the videos I watched, I had streaming tears at times during most of them. This song, sung by Bobby hits the emotion of love like nothing I have ever heard. @@MrHorimiya I have never known any woman, no matter what her taste in music, or her apparent "hardness" in attitude, who could listen to this particular rendition of this song, without either tearing up from a pent-up longing to hear these words and feelings from a man, or who wasn't in love, and vulnerable, with Bobby Hatfield as an artist, a story teller, and an honest, loving, good man, by that last note - and the following sweet, shy, unassuming smile.
      As a man, I have felt what this song describes many times in my life - that aching longing to receive the love of a woman you so desire that you would give anything for her to notice you - to love you.
      It was brilliant song-writing, with universal appeal, sung by a master vocal stylist who (like so many of the late 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s singers, instrumentalists, and drummers) had NO FORMAL TRAINING, and was just blessed with an ability and a strong desire to become what he did: one of the best, smoothest, extended-range male vocalists of all time. I believe this is a large part of what sets music of that era from everthing before or after it.
      R.I.P., Bobby. You will be remembered for a long time.

    I LOVE Your response. I was 24 when Bobby sang this live in 1965. It was written for a 1955 film about a man in prison who yearns for his wife. Bobby turned it into a love song for the ages. This was Bobby’s interpretation. He also had a head cold and his mom was in the audience for the first time. He was very nervous but one would never know. Beautiful singing and gorgeous man! 😍 I think the lip bite meant he knew he nailed it!

    I’m back after watching this for the 7th ,8th or 10th time ! The way Bobby uses his runs and draws out his phrasing , draws the listeners emotions into the songs longing , hope etc… This IS a song that , as it progresses one says , WOW , then it’s OH MY , and by the end YOUR SPEECHLESS ! This is the first of your videos I’ve watched, if you haven’t analyzed one of The Carpenters songs I would really enjoy and appreciate it!! Your passion and exuberance of great music is appreciated! Headed to your other videos!
