You guys have been asking for Tug of War-style battles with lots of infantry and no set attacker or defender, so here we go! I will be making infantry-only battles set in more urban environments, but I thought some static weapons and armor would spice things up. This is a meeting engagement with each faction deploying in waves. Enjoy!
Note: All my maps and battles are modified/not part of the original game and does not represent the finished product. Everything you see is yours to experience if you so wish to create it. My version of the game contains no third-party content. Some videos/battles may contain footage of edited damage models and gun ranges. Everything is created in the GEM game engine's editor, allowing me to make fully custom battle simulations.

The zoom out in this game is incredible. This is exactly the kind of game I have wanted my whole life. A bird’s eye view of the entire battlefield. Strange that MOWAS 2 didn’t have this feature.
Yes, but that's so easy to edit in the AS2 map file, surely?
Ruse had that idea, however it's somewhat outdated now and I think wargame does execute it pretty well too.

Don't know if it's possible to make or what goes into making these maps and scenarios but would love to see some cqb like a "special forces" bunker assault scenario for an example.

Soviet hand grenade had different settings that were controlled with sleeves. During an attack mode would have no fragmentation sleeve on it so it was mostly a concussion device to protect friendly soldiers from friendly fire.

Love how the german panzer commander spent 10 minutes looking for his glasses on the floor of the tank and then proceeded to absolutely shred the opposition.

Wait .. you can setup a mission like this and watch the AI to fight it out in this game? I'm not sure if it was possible in previous Men of War games, but holy moly i can imagine spending "some" time doing this. Do you know if there will be a way to bound missions into a campaigns? And what about dynamic campaigns? That would be awesome. And my last question - can you take control of one or athe other side at any point of the mission, or is it only possible to choose side ahead of the game? Btw. i love the video, keep them coming. Men of war could do this and that's what most of his videos are. This isn't men of war however. This is Gates of Hell. Basically a better version of Men of War
Also the Stalin order to shoot all who try to retreat was rescinded early on so really it was a matter of weeks to a couple of months that the Stalin order lasted. Hollywood movies would have you believing it was every battle soviets either died by the Germans or the Soviet officers when that is not historically accurate. The Soviet Maxim MG went on to support the attack after that.
This is what I love! Small slavic village, maybe in Ukraine, two colossal armies meeting in the town for a bloody battle! Do svidanyia tovarishch!
When watching this video, i remembered that in ww1 they only have fire support and men in trenches but when the tanks come it changed everything.

There were many encirclements on the eastern front pretty much through the war it'd be cool to see it on the small scale.

I wish small arms fired tracers every time they fired like in MOWAS2. I know it’s not realistic but it’s kinda hard to tell who is fighting who and what is happening without them

There is a few battle ideas.. The seige of leingrad. The USSR vs the Finnish would be a good one. The Japanese vs Chinese Marco pollo Bridge incident (July 7, 1937).

What if you did a tug-a-war, any setting/forces, but the direction the reinforcements came from alternated? Coming from one side then the other, then back again. Realistic? No. It could make for some interesting scenarios.

What do you find better in a general sense Men of War 2 or Call to Arms: WW2?
A lot of battles inside Stalingrad were fought in really cqc, like, a factory could occupy easily an entire map, and they fought for every single room, at that is not an exageration. Is there a map where it is just about clearing rooms and take them and loosing them and retaking them?
Battle Idea: Do a tug of war battle similar to this, but instead both sides have limited ammunition/other supplies and limited armor support. There are supply stations scattered throughout the map and the two sides have to capture these supply stations/be in their radius to gain ammo and medical supplies. Whichever team is destroyed first by the increased fighting capability of the other side loses. I’m not sure wether you can achieve this in the editor that you have, but I’d greatly appreciate it and thought it could be a cool engagement to see.

I'm not up to date on what the big brands currently offer, but my 4-5 year old system (except from GPU) can run CM just fine on the higher settings. $1000 PC will do the trick, most likely a $2-300 cheaper one too. CM games are mostly RAM and CPU heavy.

How to play GoH Beta? It said it needed Call to Arms.
Well I installed both CtA & GoH Beta, but get error message when I clicked Play button for GoH.
Does it require the full (paid) version of Call to Arms?

The 75mm main gun on the Panzer IV did not have the penetration power to destroy the front sloping armor of a T34 unless it was on top of it. The Panzer IV armor could not withstand a direct hit by the 76mm long gun on the T34 so this engagement again is inaccurate and distressing from this OCD suffering historian. Haha.
2:24 kinda inaccurate considering most of the wehrmacht was non-motorized, despite the common perception otherwise

So..again anyone else feel like the game gives the Germans an intelligence advantage in artillery and tanks? Everytime I watch one of the videos, the other faction's tanks or artillery either are super inaccurate or don´t fire at all, so what gives?
