    Anybody can buy two tone.
Anybody can buy a two tone second hand and paint or change the parts.
You are totally right about justcos i used it with fire support after they told me its ok. I used it just to get the havoc grenade launcher after i paid for two tone but the shops said use that. I got it and they took the number and refunded my paint charge and sent me the havoc in black. I use airsoft stuff for my airguns

Two questions if I can, if someone were to buy an arcade lightgun, which is therefore not a replica of a real gun, if it is in black, could that cause issue if importing to the UK, this is for replacing a lightgun on an arcade cabinet, usually they are in blue or pink but can get them in black, on aliexpress would a light gun be considered a RIF??
Also if you had ukara license and bought an airsoft rif, but still have the rid and haven't been to an airsoft game in years, does that mean anything bad?

I think the law was introduced to allow the police to be able to identify a replica from a real gun. But like a lot of laws in this country it is knee jerk and not thought out. If you want a hand gun that looks real then buy a co2 air pistol . They are extremely realistic copies of real fire arms and not subject to any RIF laws. I just don’t understand the logic of painting airsoft guns bright colours when anyone can buy a co2 air pistol with no restrictions.

The laws on deacts is getting stupid, I think the bolt and trigger now need to be welded shut on machine guns, and you need to notify the police, might be wrong. Its bolloxes tho you're right about that.

    • @Mondainai
      @Mondainai 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@scotsman7626 General TL;DR for 2021 deacs. No Dryfire on all types (excluding launchers), bolt actions are not fully welded yet but they took a hit with the last spec change, for 'assault rifles' and more modern military rifles, thankfully, oddly is seemingly better now than it was. You will encounter the 2014-2018~ era rifles with welded bolts and triggers still, but if you pony up a little more cash there are now moving bolt, trigger examples - AKM's, AUG's, M4's, UZI all that. Using new machined dummy bolt carriers or modified originals depending. The police notification is done at point of sale from the deac retailer, notification of sale to XYZ address. The fuss about it prior was them notifying people to notify them (the police) of their 2018+ spec deacs, for whatever reason - pre-2018, old specs .etc needed no notifcation. But I doubt many did anyway as it just seems to be lip service, implemented with the spec change in response specificly to the charle hebdo attacks.
I kinda lucked out as a collector, as I got all my old spec dry firing bolt actions and WW2 weapons, stayed away from modern stuff as it was all welded shut.
But now ive been on a buying spree while moving parts assault rifles are available again! (Still not old spec but deffiantly the best spec since!)
Otherwise in England the best RIF are the 4.5mm BB counterparts as air weapons instead of airsoft, as they require no license or silly colours (RIP Scotland :/ ).
But the whole VCR/FIR laws have been a thorn in my side as some unobtanium gun examples id love for my collection are only available as airsoft - and no two-tone options either....

So I’ve just looked into this. This defence is not listed as a viable defence on the violent crime reduction act.
So cosplay is not a valid defence which means that if you were to be caught with an imitation firearm and you argued the fact you have a cosplay membership you would still be prosecuted for the possession of a firearm which I believe is a minimum term if 2 years in prison.
You can argue if you wish but the fact is it’s not listed as a viable defence under the VCRA.

@@fred3965Yes, there is, Airsoft are considered toys and therefore ones that look like real guns are harder to get.
Airguns on the other hand are considered firearms, just not restricted firearms (as long as they are under 12ft/lbs), for this reason in the eye of the law it is normal and ok for them to look like firearms because they are firearms, just unrestricted ones.

UKARA isn't a license. It isn't illegal to buy a RIF, but it is illegal to manufacture and sell them to someone without good cause. Therefore the liability is on the manufacturer if an incident occurs, and UKARA provides the manufacturers with a defence on your behalf, and therefore the manufacturers and distributors will sell it to you.

Just to clarify a few points. You have to be 18 yo to own an imitation firearm or a RIF, there is no law prohibiting you from owning one. The law prohibits the import or sale of RIFs without a valid defence, that defense being for the benefit of the seller, making it legal for them to sell it to you. Imitation firearms are supposed to be at least 51% a prescribed bright color - Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Pink or Purple, any other color is not lawful. Most retailers bend the rules selling pistols with only the slides painted, for instance. Once you have purchased a brightly colored gun, it is VERY MUCH illegal to change them into a RIF by altering the color in any way & could, theoretically land you inside for a couple of years, unless of course you have a valid defense by then. I don't know about gifting RIFs, as there is no law against owning them, I would think it's ok. You most definitely cannot sell them to anyone without a valid defense though. Importing RIFs is no problem, if you have a defense, there is no reason why customs would seize them. Most foreign retailers won't sell to the UK without a UKARA number & this will be marked on the customs paperwork, they will most likely check them, to make sure they are imitations though, which may slow things down a little
