It is slowly getting better. You should see NOA 2 by December if USCIS California service center completes 1000 cases or more per week. They are mainly working cases from late August and September of 2022.
It took almost exactly one year for USCIS to approve my petition. I filed I-129F on 7/29/22 and it was approved on 8/10/23. This was thanks to the assistance from my local congressman - I wrote a letter to him asking for help after waiting one year and his office came back with the response from USCIS that my petition was just approved. She's been living in Italy her whole life. If we get married here in Italy, can she get me a Visa? perhaps even a green card? so that I can visit the US with or without her, perhaps in case I get a green card, I could then do other plans, otherwise, I'd just be happy to visit the US for several weeks each time.

How would you approach this situation? What can our expectations be? It's been 2 mo and things seemed to be at a stand still. A retired immigration attorney has said my new attorney is a "top dog" to handle this matter.

Yes i think there is, a friend of mine got it cause her now husband works for the military, im not an expert but there are articles for you to research, im not sure how much time you have to wait but its defenitely a lot less than the 16-20 months they give to normal petitions.

There is absolutely a chance for denial. I would have a copy of their criminal record and schedule a consultation with an immigration attorney in your state before you file anything.

The US citizen does not have to attend the interview if that would not be possible. It is assumed in most cases that won't be possible. Regarding language barriers, a consulate conducting the interview will usually be able to speak English and the hosting country's national language or regional dialect. For example if your partner lives in China, the consulate would most likely be able to do the interview in English or in Mandarin. The consulate would likely ask if their partner (that is you, Lukakos) speaks the same language and if you two DON'T that would be a red flag. If you also speak the same language as your fiancee, then that would be considered normal.

Visit as much as you can and have a plan B made up for if you are denied. That helps.

Scheduling the interview itself is a nightmare. You need to log into the embassy website every 2 hours until an appointment comes available.
But USCIS said that the situation will improve. They will speed up the processing processes and the processing time will be between 8 and 12 months.😢
