Let's not forget he's one of the reasons Naruto learned the rasenshuriken. He may not be the best teacher, but he's certainly not a bad teacher. Same with Jiraiya who taught Yahiko, Nagato and Konan to survive( from three random kids to powerful fighters). Plus they taught them valuable lessons of life and being a ninja with did proof useful in many occasions.
Insane take. I accidently cleared my previous comment, but Kakashi took 14 days to teach Sasuke the chidori (a complex high level jutsu) and had him at atleast weightless Lee stats if not above. Sasuke was continously pressing Gaara until his curse mark started taking over. He was also able to help Naruto master the shadow clone technique and create a new S rank jutsu, all in a very short period of time with efficiency and also improving other ninja skills. Theres a lot of offscreen stuff we dont know about, but Kakashi is good at ninjutsu training and also quite resourceful, assigning special jonin for Naruto when he was unavailable, brought Yamato to suppress the Kyuubi chakra to both stop him from taking over and allowing Naruto have access to more of his chakra pool.

Jiraiya helped Naruto learn sage mode, Rasengan, and control up to 3 tails of the 9 tails. Plus he still uses sage mode in Boruto. You could say that Jiraiya didn’t teach him sage node and that it was the toads, but even then it was Jiraiya who got him there, and if not for him getting Naruto there he never would have learned toad sage mode.

Also I think jiraiya just had a different type of teaching style it made him seem lazy but he made Naruto learn rasengan and shit on his own because he knows naruto has the work ethic to accomplish anything and that he has minato genes so he gonna succeed
