[MKWii TAS] DS Yoshi Falls Flap (No Ultra Shortcut) - 12.440

Not long after posting my previous video, I managed to hit my new shortcut without shrooming before the second waterfall. While this shroom does not change much speed-wise, it allows me to gain more EV before the cut without just flying off the track, as well as helping with the approach to the wall bonk. Initial attempts went terribly without this extra shroom, which is why I didn't bother trying much without it the first time I pulled it off. However, the cut proved just as possible without without using this shroom, with the only downsides being that it was much more awkward to perform and that I had to take the supergrind slightly wider. By skipping this mushroom, I can instead save it for the recovery, which saves a little over 1 second since I don't have to wait for my SSMT to finish charging. Additionally, I managed to get a really OP landing, where I slowed down fully and was able to start turning around almost immediately after touching the ground, which saved another 0.1-0.2 seconds.
While this shortcut technically still requires two mushrooms (since the supergrind is required and can't be done properly shroomless), the first shroom is the typical shroomspot used in No Ultra Shortcut TASes, so it's not nearly as detrimental as having to dedicate two full shrooms to the shortcut itself. This means that it's highly likely that this shortcut is now viable for a full run, as only one lap would have to be done shroomless instead of two to allow for the shortcut to be performed. Additionally, with the help of something that Jellopuff discovered (it's a secret!), the NU flap is going to go down even further in the coming weeks/months, so keep an eye out for both of those!
Also, for clarity, while everything after the first waterfall was done solo, the lap entry in this video and the last is the same as it was in the 16.243, and was done by Marth, Monster, and Ejay.

Not sure, the speed is used here in a very specific way that doesn’t really translate to just “going really fast on 200” but if you can just face the egg and reach it for a normal clip i don’t see why you wouldn’t have the speed for that
