About my van: My van is a 2003 Toyota Hiace LWB.
I got the van in March and since then have been converting it into a camper with my dad.
I will be posting a video all about the costs of the conversion soon for those who are curious or looking to research converting a van themselves.

Nice homey build. Hope you're still having fun with it. The hidden jars storage shelf over your kitchen drawer is a great idea I might just copy! Kudos to your dad for helping out and pay no attention to Karen Tango.

How many km’s had your van done when you bought it? Any mechanical issues you had to fork out for after purchasing and if so how much?

Hi, it had around 310000 I’m pretty sure. Had to do a major service (just over 1000 up front). Was able to factor in that into the price I got it for as we knew beforehand and were able to negotiate. The Hiace is a great van and serviced me well. Had no issues since it’s service over a year ago.

thanks! Yeah it is an older van so not the best especially with the added weight but we tried to keep the weight down so it hasn't changed it much that I have noticed yet.
How much did it cost you to convert this van to this liveable condition?
How have you found the rear kitchen?
It has been a really good set up, only issues I had were not having enough room for prep when I have the burner out, so I got a little table I set up to sort that out

That gas bottle needs to be vented to outside or you could die in your sleep. It's actually a legal requirement in all states of Australia. A minor leak and you might not wake up or worse still... KABOOOOM

Just clicked to see as this vid came up as a recommended video. Damn! Seeing this sets off alarm bells in my head and scares me! Look at those loosely secured projectiles in the back all over the place and no cargo barrier to protect the occupants in to front in case of an accident.... Pictures attached with double sided tape??? This isn't your stationary bedroom in your house. I'm surprised your Dad didn't see all these hazards and know better. Also having that huge wooden cabinet right behind the drivers head. So many things wrong with this build it's scary. This is what happenes when amateurs 'do their build'. All that flammable crap in there and no fire extinguisher.....🙄 Please at least put in a cargo barrier of some sort, a fire extinguisher and be safe.
Hi thank you for your concern. The pictures are attached with double sided mounting tape designed to secure heavy items, I’m telling you those babies don’t budge. The fake vase on the back bench is only there when I am parked and put in the draw when I drive anywhere. What other loosely secured projectiles are you talking about? I also do have a fire extinguisher, it is behind the drivers seat and just not clearly visible in this video.
