  • Hi! Watch us convert our 2004 Toyota Hiace Commuter Van into a Campervan. It took us about 2 months to complete. This video is not meant to be an in depth tutorial by any means, just a glimpse into our ideas and how we made the space work for our needs. Leave any questions below and I will try my best to answer. Subscribe to keep up with our travels as we drive around Australia!

Just wondering guys, how did the floor go? Was there any heat soak etc coming through from driveline etc?
Also noticed I think by the Bunnings footage that you were maybe at maroochydore, I noticed office works etc, I’m in Mooloolaba, are you still on the coast?

Hi! It’s a 2004 Toyota Hiace Japanese Import full time 4WD Superlong wheelbase. I don’t remember all the dimensions off the top of my head but it fits the width of a queen bed and it’s 1.6m high and 3.5m long

is this the normal commuter version or is this a high roof one? you guys can stand on it! such good head space!

It’s a normal commuter one, we can stand fully but close enough! I think the headspace we managed was like 5’3

Nice conversion but at the end, the jerky camera action nearly gave me a headache as I couldn't even enjoy the reveal.

Thank you! Sorry I am still working on my video skills. I have a better camera now and will be filming another more in depth van tour soon if you are interested in seeing it. Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it 🙏🏼

We mostly saved up before we left but we did stop and do some farm work, caravan park cleaning and resort housekeeping here and there. Not much though!
