This is exactly why I don't participate in game jams because I am SO competitive haha. But I love that you come back each year to try and beat your last score, I think that's a really wholesome mindset!! And the game's art looks really cute.
@@MeniMenoHello it's not even kind if it's just the truth 😅 I've been doing pixel art for over 30 years and you're already better than me 😂 Watching your timelapse of painting the girl presenting the tentacle sushi, I was like........... what am I even doing, bro 😂😂😂 I'm sure you've heard both of these before but just in case you haven't: in software we have two pieces of advice. The first one applies in a lot of places in life but especially here: it's a marathon, not a sprint. When you talked about the tedium of converting all those RGBA values to hex codes... sometimes, it can be a real slog through those moments to get back to the fun stuff. But always remember if you just keep putting one foot in front of the other, you'll get there. The other piece of advice is a joke: in software, when you're done with the first 90%, you just have the second 90% to go and then you're finished! When you're making something brand new, no one has ever made that thing before. Who knows how long it should take? You can't force nine women to make a baby in one month, sometimes things just take the time they take. Just trust yourself and trust the process, and for you the limit is literally the sky. 🕊➕❤ good luck!
"Calm Before the Storm" My thoughts: Art Style - 12/10 Game Mechanics - 8/10 Brianstorming / Implementation - 9/10 Theme - 3/10 If you had of absoulety nailed the brief "Calm Before the Storm" I think your rating could have been as high as 2nd. Don't feel discuraged you made a brilliant game as always and your learning journey and experience is growing everytime you make one of these! GOD YOUR ART STYLE IS SOOO GOOD!!! Im a hobby pixel artist and im ultra jealous!
that is so sweet thank you!!! and I so completely agreeee my take on the theme was abstract to say the least haha! but thankyou so much for the feedback and the kind words!
RGBA and HEX are the same thing. The only difference is that RGBA is in decimal form, so its from 0 - 255. Hex is also from 0 - 255 but is in hexadecimal form. So 255 is FF (15 * 16 + 15) F = 15. You could just create a function to convert them to rgba doing the math. so for instance HEX #AA01FF would be equal to RGBA (170, 1, 255, 255)
You can also make a custom resource that contains an array of colors and just set the colors in the inspector using hexcodes, then use this resource in your code.
kayaknya seru kalo one day bisa liat kak meni bikin game ttg holoID trs masuk holoindie jd dimainin deh sama member holoID game nya, just a wishful thinking..
As some others have mentioned @ 6:49 Godot's Color class accepts Hex codes as inputs, eg. Color("#9e4539"). I'm sorry you had yo go through converting all that oof...
oh! I wasnt planning on it cus it was a prototype for my game Hollowhearth but now I might do a little update since it seems people are still interested! hehe

u are a HERO literally saving this for future projects!!!
@@MeniMenoHello but also Godot does support hexcodes. Color("AA01FF") works

Cool looking game!
Randomly came across this. The game concept is cooking for sure.
I am curious about how long your experience is with art and coding.
Buen video👍😸😊
