Great game! It might take a bit of learning up front but I think using Aseprite for your pixel would be beneficial for you down the line. You can draw, animate, and export sprite sheets all in the same place

As some others have mentioned @ 6:49 Godot's Color class accepts Hex codes as inputs, eg. Color("#9e4539"). I'm sorry you had yo go through converting all that oof...

RGBA and HEX are the same thing. The only difference is that RGBA is in decimal form, so its from 0 - 255. Hex is also from 0 - 255 but is in hexadecimal form. So 255 is FF (15 * 16 + 15) F = 15. You could just create a function to convert them to rgba doing the math. so for instance HEX #AA01FF would be equal to RGBA (170, 1, 255, 255)

I’ve got a fun hack for your problem at 6:39 !! Instead of doing Color(R, G, B, A) you can do Color.html(“#acolour”) and it works with hex codes!! Another great vid btw :) Edit: There may be another way to do it tbf but that’s the workaround I found that works for me 👍

You could’ve used chatGPT or any other AI to convert your hex codes into rgba!

I think your game is cool! One suggestion would be moles. My mole is my most defining feature and I can never feel represented by games . I think it would be cool do have different mole sizes you can move around the face. Awesome game though :)

Self-labeled writer here! Just played the game, loved it! I liked the story and the plot twist was awesome! I didn't see it coming, and im happy that nobody here spoiled it :) Do i have any feedback? Maybe the story went too fast for that plot twist, i think if the game was a bit longer and the story went slightly slower, the impact of the last revelation would be greater. Also, maybe you could add more spice to the dialogues when she has her breakdowns, so they feel more emotional and impact more on the player. Regardless of that, I think it was great! If you keep learning, i´m sure your storywriting will be the best <3

Played your game, great mechanic demo and a fun twist at the very end. However, it was not scary in the slightest which is fine for me, but if you want feedback on that here it is: I think you missed a major opportunity when you skipped out on music. Horror often relies heavily on sound and I think it could've given your game a boost in the creep factor if you had used it.

This is going to sound really lazy I believe that it could be creepier if you used AI generated images for scary parts of the game Because your game is about an AI AI is really good at generating uncanny and scary imagery Obviously don't replace all of the art with AI generated slop I did something like that in a game where you were in this simulation that's observing you and I would put AI images of natural landscapes but it was shaped into an eye

I just played the game. That was pretty good. The jumpscares weren't scary, but I think that's okay. I've heard that in order for a jumpscare to be effective it has to either be completely unexpected or built up with a sense of dread. In your game I could tell it was coming but there was no build up of dread, so felt more like a narrative reveal than a jumpscare. I think the writing was pretty engaging and I did not expect the ending at all. I had fun playing it. I also really like that you had a picture of your other game on the wall. Very cute. The only thing I'd say I didn't like in the game was that if I used the mouse to choose the dialogue options, the top option still stayed highlighted, so for the first half of the game I thought the top option was supposed to be like the preferred option or something until I realized I could scroll with the keyboard. It didn't really impact my experience, though. Everything else was really cool.
