I still use this,bought new in early 2016. Here are my impressions: Mine has the 2gb nvidia 920m so light gaming (indie games and anything heavy made before 2015) is fine Mine has a dual core pentium processor which means that performance isn't great but is acceptable Battery life was pretty bad when new, it lasts around 2 hours now The speaker is horrible Replaced the old hard drive with a Samsung 870 qvo ssd,performance definetely improved greatly
I'd say that is a pretty fair assessment of this laptop. My impression was a little "meh," for this version, but if it had that NVIDIA GPU and an i5 I would be interested in trying it out :)
Is there an ultrabay option for this? Probably not, I tried to look it up but couldn't confirm. Says there is one for the IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 though. Just another incredible feature of thinkpads is turning those old optical drives into more storage 👍
I don't think there is an option for this one that is OEM, but I'm sure there is some kind of third party solution that would fit. This laptop is more streamlined for general consumer use, but it's not bad at all. I always think I might want an optical drive, but never end up using it hah.

@@hightech-lowlife I use an optical drive for these videos ;) I use my video editing software CD for the occasional install. But, that's honestly about it.
@@hightech-lowlife I actually have a VHS+DVD player in my basement setup, but I only ever use the PC I built for the space. I watched 10min of an old Golden Boy DVD.
That CPU is on the weaker end and only having 4GB of RAM installed is part of the problem. Do you still have the open RAM slot? Are you just running off of the 4GB that is soldered on the board? Also, do you have an SSD or HDD installed?
