I really enjoyed sailing this ship. Being able to stow supplies in enclosed storage areas is unique to this ship! Watch all the way to the end for a bit of extra fun...
Fun to see that every item you placed on youre ship ( stove/ table / items/ clock etc), even the use of the front ships hatch for storage hooks and fire supply, is exactly the same what i did with my junk,
Bought the junk just for collection purpose, took it for a test sail and started to love it instantly.. Very comfortable to sail because so many control are inside the wheelhouse.
Under the floor you can fit 4 middle sized crates. If you can't, use T (throw). Throwing ignores collisions. It will allow you to save a lot of space in storage area. Also, you could fit your food and water in storage area at the sides, in these weird narrow spaces. Nice episode, have fun sailing
Awww, I'm actually quite sad you didn't include any coloured lanterns or windchimes from the Emerald Archipelago... They go so well on the Junk! The junk is definitely a mood. It's absolutely beautiful, thought I am not a fan of its cramped space and lack of things to do on long voyages compared to the Brig ;p
I have successfully completed 5 missions with the Sanbuq, from Aestrin to Dragon Cliffs. Then bought me the junk. Acquired 5 assignments to Gold Rock. Cargo and rations loaded in junk. Miscellaneous items loaded onto the Junk from the Sanbuq. Was just ready to depart, set sail and untied. There was a strong side wind and the junk sank while still in the harbour.
you either left the sails up while tied up, or you crossed up your mooring lines and caused it to flip. the junk is probably the fastest ship in the game, but it takes on water much more easily than some of the other large ships.
Theoretically this journey can be done with just the quadrant and/or sun compass, you just need to know your latitude, you won't know how far you are but still
What are you going to do after the next 2 episodes? You could try to make a cross-ocean voyage using the starter ships? I think that could be a nice challenge
A question about sun compass. Is the junk really that stable or do you have some special technique for making the sun compass stable? I watched your navigation tutorial videos, and applied what I learned from them, I am currently using sanbuq, only very often I find that my boat keeps rocking in the waves, especially on blue waters. This makes the shadow on the sun compass swing wildly back and forth and it is very difficult to pinpoint the exact moment when it crosses the noon line, especially with overcast sky. Could you share a tip on how you handle it?
I was holding the sun compass in my hand and the waves weren't too aggressive at the time. Taking observations on a cloudy or stormy day when the water is high is always going to be a bit tricky. Thankfully on a long journey you have several days to take readings. In my Sanbuq maiden voyage you can see me take a noon-reading with Sun Compass at this timestamp: th-cam.com/video/de8vg_lN63g/w-d-xo.html Note the waves are quite calm.
@@SimGamerTV Aw, I thought maybe there is some trick to it. On my journey from Estrin to GRC, I actually got lost and was going round in circles for almost a full week because I couldn't take the readings reliably due to really horrible weather conditions. I think I had like 5 storms during that time... I resorted to taking readings off Milnead for longitude and I had wildly varying results every single time, anywhere from +1 to -5. Thanks for the reply!
this would be such a chill co-op game

The Star Wars clips are on point 😂
I literally couldn't resist.
Yes, all the winches, at least on the emerald and Al'Ankh ships are shaped different depending on whether they are halyards or sheets.

That's one of the best things about the Junk is how flexible the storage, and enclosed bins are.

Is it possible to refuel lanterns or you just always have to purchase new ones?
Really good content!!! Keep it up :) I'm quite excited for the Brig episode!!
Nice videos. The music was a good touch
the way I remember LAtitude is the parrales on the chart are like the runs on a LAdder.
Outstanding videos, sir. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻

At first I was not interested by the Junk. But since I tried this ship, I made it my home on water. I a real fan ot the Junk :)
Where can I buy water barrels in dragon cliffs?
can u experiment with sail speeds of the boats? like whats the difference in junk with only 1 sail open vs all 3.
I like your junk

That's a good suggestion. I have a few guides I want to make first.

How long does every trip take under avg weather? (Real time)
A local trip, island to island takes about 30 mins to an hour depending. Ocean voyages take six to eight hours.
if you reel in too fast you'll lose your hook, and the fish of course
I wish they'd hurry up and add multiplayer. I know its early access, but I really wanna play this with my friends that used to play Atlas.
why you call that beautiful ship Junk? :P
