This is what drag racing looked like when I was a kid reading Hot Rod behind my elementary school textbook. I grew up in the same city as Ohio George Montgomery and Billy 'The Kid' Stepp; all one needed to do to meet them was go to the races at Kil Kare and Edgewater. Thanks so much for this!
Looking forward to seeing the Southeast Gassers for the first time at Kil-Kare Dragway on 5/4. Will be making the trip from WI & I already know it's going to be worth the trip.
my brother ran an injected C/Gas '55 chevy in '61 -'62 ran it at indy both years.. I ran a Modern fiberglass front end tube axle Hilborne injected 4 speed 427 big block ladder bar ' 57 chevy in '68-'69 out of Blair's Speed a shop in Pasadena Ca was runner up at the winternationals.
Thank you so much for sharing. I grew up in SE Texas and thanks to my father and local track builders I was able to experience that era of Drag racing. 👍👍🏁
