What a sick set up. Reminds me the scene on "maveric", with full house vs poker vs straight flush . Still waiting to see that set up, just a matter of time🤣🤣
Here's the deal. After Dario got felted, he borrowed $40k from Mariano (who graciously offered). Then, Mariano asked the concierge for $50k (presumably to replace the 40k) so that he had a bigger stack. This is why, even in this clip, you hear Mariano say "I have 50k behind" because he wanted MM to know he had more chips than what was showing. (MM says "well, you still cover me anyway") What I assume, is that Nik Airball loaned Mariano the 50K in chips (off camera) and when the concierge shows up with the 50k, he tells him to put it on Nik's stack (for immediate payback).
I can’t help but think about the Coleman/Seiver AA vs 99 hand when looking at this one. Different here cause there are three players involved, but I always think about how you said in the Coleman hand how it is nearly impossible to be balanced this deep in 5/6-bet pots. I have to say I am really not a fan of Yang’s 5-bet or DM’s 6-bet for this reason. They are playing their hands face up as even some of the best players will not construct 5/6-bet pots with enough bluffs to balance their range. It is impossible to play well when your range contains 2, maybe 3 hands, as it does when Yang decides to 5-bet. Amazing analysis as always, just thought I’d drop my two cents.
@@suchabadbeat2617 or maybe because Mariano asked for $50k (as he said "I have 50K behind") and he was signing for the 50k.... but then asked them to place on Nik's stack, presumably because Nik loaned Mariano the 50k in the interim.
@@MelodyMaker Yeah I thought the same thing, I wouldn't want that out there if I was them, especially not long after the J4 sh1t too lol. They were lucky this hand probably played out how it was supposed to, but it very nearly didn't. Even then, if they intended to tell Yang what Mario said, they messed up due to the dealer's misquote, and imo they messed up in the decisions to tell him in the first place. It's only by shear luck the dealer didn't hear Mariano fully and misquoted him that the hand played out normally. Also a ton of people are gonna think it was intentionally ignored too. What a mess! We'll know if this one goes down too, although I doubt Doug would pull it even if they tried.
@@DaftFader Kuhn's video returned for a period of time yesterday but now I see it's been taken down again after I and another deliberated on the topic yet again in a thread. Your commentary touches exactly on the sensitive nature of the hand. If the dealer was compelled to share with Yang what was said between Mariano and Double M in confidence but messed up the quote.... one would presume that she did so because house rules or general poker rules prevent communication between players in confidence at the exclusion of another player in the hand. The obvious material representation made in confidence was that Mariano exclaimed that he had aces. I suspect that the dealer omitted the part about the aces in relaying what was said between Mariano and Double M because she did not hear that part but her action by relaying some of what was said would indicate that rules required her to do so. Now this omission about the aces obviously proves relevant given Yang's call. Hustler should have taken pause with the hand prior to Yang's action in calling off his stack given that Yang showed some concern along with the reaction of Mariano which seemed to show a rush to get to showdown.
@@MelodyMaker Yeah, I agree, this seemed like a rushed decision and they should of taken a pause, spoke to both mariano, MM and then Yang one by one indavidualy off camera to find out what happened and then proceeded. However, that's bad stream footage, so I think their desire to have a smooth stream actually detracted from what could of been a better resolution to what was essentually a misunderstanding.
What would you do Doug if you were Yang?? Part of me feels like the language barrier was a issue but I don't think so. If anything it would've made me want to fold.
I'm genuinely wondering if Yang knew Mariano must of told his hand to MM, and was trying to get the house to tell him as a reverse angle. You're probably right tho, just a language barrier and no one could explain that it was irrelevant that Mariano spoke to MM, and that MM didn't reply so Mariano had no extra info himself being still to act, and MM was already all in so had no decisions left to make thus nothing that happened should effect anyone's decisions.
The highlight of this clip is Nik Airball translating for Yang. And the dealer should've really clarified that Mariano said he had aces, instead of just saying "something crazy"
one thing about cash games I've learned to think about is how it's all dependent on ONE run out, if the money goes in and you just happen to lose that one time, it's done, with all the bets preflop and you're sitting there with Ks, just one guy with an A and it flops essentially kills your hand, nevermind the possibility of someone just having aces preflop against you. That deep in chips there's an argument that it's never worth it with Ks against 2 possible opponents that keep reraising the pot multiple times.
I like this video n how u digest it Yes Mariano try being nice to tell MM he got AA , but like u said , with this type of action preflop , MM probably know he might up against Aces too , no need Mariano to mention , playing 700k pot , MM cannot wait 10m plus to find out , with this much money in the middle , Yang look 😵💫, like wtf r they talking , Mariano been playing so long and this is a huge pot , he really should of wait for his turn to act. Also , they been running it twice most of the night anyway , that not because he try to be nice or what , he run a 10k pot twice with Dario too , I hope Mariano at least apologize to yang Cuz Yang don’t know he got aces, he might think if he call MM all in , Mariano might fold too ( cuz Mariano can have QQ or AK suited with the preflop action ) Beside MM was down all night , Yang might think his KK is good head up vs MM
I would be of the mindset, UTG 3 way with pocket aces is necessary to simply flat. Any more I think might change the math, any less you have to raise, but 3 way it’s necessary to flat for EV preflop.
Hey Doug, ignore the nay-sayers. Bill Perkins is an interesting first match. One) 100K is cocktail money to him. He can shove on marginal hands without a thought for the money. Two) Unlike top pros, he has no reputation to protect. He doesn't have to worry about being mocked by other pros if he makes a daft move. Three) Pros deal in a world of variables. If you add up the first two points, Bill is a radical. Unpredictability can confound a GTO player. We've all seen an amateur wreck a pros head. While the greatest likelihood is an easy win against a guy who is inclined to punt it off, you will have to think about patterns of play that set up the trap, walking him into a false security. A lot of flatting might be best where you would otherwise raise and/or vary your bet-size. I'm not suggesting how you should play but I am suggesting that Bill Perkins does present a different kind of challenge.

Sorry that I can't What'sApp you but I don't have a pocket-computer-phone. I'm not a technophobe as some people are inclined to call me. Quite the opposite but it's a different set of technologies that interest me. I have a huge reveal for the first episode. While it hasn't been played out on mainstream media, we are in the early stages of a paradigm shift as a result of a radical evolution in nanotechnology - too much to explain in this format. NOW, for a laugh, I have been playing tournament poker as one possible route to gaining the funds for the channel. In a few days, I'll be playing a satellite to try to get into The Irish Open - I live in Ireland - but this is how I came to be a subscriber of yours. I tune in for the strategy talk. Anyway, poker brother, it's pretty much this or email. Wishing you nothing but good health and good hunting - to you and yours - and thanks again for sharing with me some of your time. I'm genuinely humbled.
It’s common fuxking sense. You don’t talk about the hand when players are left to act. I don’t care if he doesn’t speak English, it’s not right. Who fuxking cares that a player has to sit another 2 minutes not knowing if kings would win. Awful play by Mariano. That being said I don’t believe it was malicious.
Listen to the dealer. She says he’s playing 50k behind. So Nik slides him 50 in chips to highlight the point. Later in the hand when the floor brings Mariano his 50k, he tells them to put it on Niks stack
Most places (cash) it's if you speak to a person in a hand about your hand or reveal a card whilst they are still to make a decision, the whole table is to be made aware so no one player has an advantage over any other if there's a third player left to act in the pot (it's the same rules as accidental shown cards most of the time). Some tournaments (like WSOP) forbid you from talking about your actual hole cards till the action is completely over. The difference here was MM was all in, so he had no decisions left to be made. If MM had said something back to Mariano about what HE had, then it should of been told to Wang, as Mariano was still in the hand the whole table gets to hear (which is why he stayed quiet).
No. Not at least in this stream. I saw the whole stream live, and earlier you could see the auto-shuffler to the left of the dealer, lower than the table.
Yang is a fool….it makes absolutely no difference to anything MM could have said to Mariano or Vice Versa after MM was all in. In fact it could help Yang if anything. After it was up to Yang to call or fold for $250k….any info Yang could pick up would only help him. MM could’ve secretly said to Mariano that he had KK and it would’ve been to no help to Mariano at all….but to Yang that info would be of immense importance. Yang is an idiot and that’s why he went broke.
Surprised no one is talking about how shady this hand was. From the beginning when Mariano was like oh oh I have 50k behind it’s just not on the table??? To dealer not cutting the deck then dealer lying about what Mariano said to the other guy in the hand. Seems like way more to this then the Robbie hand

Except when he acted weak and said the f is going on here this is crazy while he's holding Aces and then Whispers to double M which really influenced yang.. absolutely terrible etiquette not to mention the dealer didn't say what was really said in seemed to cover for him because she was told to do so on the headphones Doug missed a lot of this
I thought Mariano would’ve clarified his actions on his recent vlog. This was a dirty move and he was out of line for that.
In case you were wondering Doug, you can have 22-max tables. Get one of those at the Lodge, kthx.
LOVE the consistent posts from u bro
Doug i love how classy you are promoting other streams. Also love the content
So you’re saying my maniac A3/A7 shove has a chance in this situation 😈. Wild hand, enjoying the content Doug. Look forward to hitting up The Lodge sometime down the road.
What a sick set up. Reminds me the scene on "maveric", with full house vs poker vs straight flush . Still waiting to see that set up, just a matter of time🤣🤣
7:28 Suited AA-nice one Douglas My favorite hand too
Love the daily content Doug but this hand didn’t need a breakdown! Plenty of other more interesting hands that we would love to hear you Insite on
Shout out to chapelle in full rick James costume!
what was mariano signing at the end?
what was happening at the very end when mariano stood up?
I had this happen to me in a 1-2 game and it was only like an $800 pot and i wanted to flip the table. Can’t imagine how Yang and double M felt
What are the odds of this happening and also add in the other two hands with broadway cards?
Was there some form Mariano had to sign after this because of the amounts involved? What was that?
What is the floor giving him after the runout?
I was curious about that too. And why did he say to put it on airballs stack? wish Doug had addressed that.
(MM says "well, you still cover me anyway")
What I assume, is that Nik Airball loaned Mariano the 50K in chips (off camera) and when the concierge shows up with the 50k, he tells him to put it on Nik's stack (for immediate payback).
@@redmatrix Finally, someone who's been to an actual casino giving out correct information in a poker TH-cam video's comments! xD
Right at the last few seconds what was the pit boss or whatever the guy in the suits title is having Mariano sign
First time I ever watched the Friday stream and got to see this. Most impressed!
Oh my God you have to continue with the cut ins
I've litterally been waiting all day for this video to drop lol...
... and it didn't disappoint, that hand breakdown was hilarious. Funnier than the actual hand it's self the way it played out. xD
What is the best way to run it at the end for each player? Twice for Mariano? Then as many as possible for the other 2 to try grab a flush?
It doesn’t matter. Running it more than once does not change your equity. It only reduces variance.
love the douger hands, vanessa
Man,…love this Doug!!! Thank you!!!
thanks dougie for breakdown!
thanks for your insight Dougie!
Mariano will remember this hand for the rest of his life.
Doug thx 4 the Hustler content.
given what it's done for his bankroll I'm sure he will. heck he should retire.. heh.
Whats the paperwork he gets handed immediately after the hand?
It looks like he's signing for chips, probably loaning money to someone else to table
@@rockybullshite927 darios 40k loan
@@suchabadbeat2617 or maybe because Mariano asked for $50k (as he said "I have 50K behind") and he was signing for the 50k.... but then asked them to place on Nik's stack, presumably because Nik loaned Mariano the 50k in the interim.
How much do u tip the dealer on this hand?
SICK! 😮 Wet Dream - Nightmare hand! Thank you for the breakdown. Obviously, it would be hard to think your way through that one?
at 8;36, what does doug mean "some occasional ak?" we fold? flat?
Poker commentator Rob Kuhn has apparently taken down his video on this hand in which his caption referenced controversy. Hmm.
Yeah I noticed that, I wonder if it got flagged from hustler?
@@DaftFader well... I don't think Hustler handled the hand in the best way possible and certainty they may be sensitive of late.
The run good with these yougins are insane
Yes! The pocket aces music is back!
I thought you missed the "catjammin" opportunity... Then u nailed it. Low key ofc... Dont wanna seem thirsty :) lol
Is this that new super short deck only face cards game??
3:03 you can hear mariano say "Double M, I have Aces" before yang calls
It's so easy to do analysis when YOU KNOW the hole cards. Do they play poker or do they play cards?
Yang gotta fold there. He knows he's behind.
Its amazing how many time Mariano and Rampage are on the correct side of these. Lucky Lucky
It will eventually turn around, it always does.
I like this video n how u digest it
Yes Mariano try being nice to tell MM he got AA , but like u said , with this type of action preflop , MM probably know he might up against Aces too , no need Mariano to mention , playing 700k pot , MM cannot wait 10m plus to find out , with this much money in the middle , Yang look 😵💫, like wtf r they talking , Mariano been playing so long and this is a huge pot , he really should of wait for his turn to act. Also , they been running it twice most of the night anyway , that not because he try to be nice or what , he run a 10k pot twice with Dario too , I hope Mariano at least apologize to yang
Cuz Yang don’t know he got aces, he might think if he call MM all in , Mariano might fold too ( cuz Mariano can have QQ or AK suited with the preflop action )
Beside MM was down all night , Yang might think his KK is good head up vs MM
Coming up next week, Mariano flops top set vs middle set vs bottom set vs top two and stacks the whole table for 1.7 million dollars
Good luck tomorrow with the heads up match
I would be of the mindset, UTG 3 way with pocket aces is necessary to simply flat. Any more I think might change the math, any less you have to raise, but 3 way it’s necessary to flat for EV preflop.
Can't even imagine losing this kind of money on one hand
Yang knows what Aces means if he heard it lol
Did you just say 'suited Aces'!? 😂
Hey Doug, what a lovely moment, that you would take the time to reply to me at all. Needless to say, you have teased my curiosity. Sorry that I can't What'sApp you but I don't have a pocket-computer-phone. I'm not a technophobe as some people are inclined to call me. Quite the opposite but it's a different set of technologies that interest me. I'm presently trying to raise the funds to do a TH-cam/Podcast channel - Talking Reason - my daughter is going to manage the posting and the social media - anyway, the first series that I've written is entitled, The End of Global Warming, where I lay out the critical path for solving global warming based on the technology that we have now.
Mariano with aces pre: "what is happening?!"
@7.58 is wen u want to fast forward the video to the end as u know doug explains the hand 4xs saying the samething
I like when Dario said why you acting depressed to Mariano lol
It’s common fuxking sense. You don’t talk about the hand when players are left to act. I don’t care if he doesn’t speak English, it’s not right. Who fuxking cares that a player has to sit another 2 minutes not knowing if kings would win. Awful play by Mariano. That being said I don’t believe it was malicious.
whats with the A5 suited lol..
Did anyone else notice nik giving mariano a stack of chips? 2:43
Listen to the dealer. She says he’s playing 50k behind. So Nik slides him 50 in chips to highlight the point. Later in the hand when the floor brings Mariano his 50k, he tells them to put it on Niks stack
Greatest hand and action of all time. What are the odds of this happening again on a stream?
Negative percent
double M is super cool, instantly accepted the truth that his drawing almost dead 😂
Does any place have a rule that you must tell a player in the pot what you said to another player?
Are the decks hand shuffled at HCL?
No. Not at least in this stream. I saw the whole stream live, and earlier you could see the auto-shuffler to the left of the dealer, lower than the table.
Yeah one by one face up out the back xD
MM was like alright Mariano just called I finally got him I'm all in. But then his face when Mariano said he had aces.
Let's see a hand which is super short decked which is AA v AA v KK where the KK has +EV because of the card removal effects
12:43 that cat looks like it’s really loving on that camera ❤️
For those of you wondering what Yang was saying, he kept asking “what did they say to each other?”
Yang was afraid they were openly colluding on a recorded stream
Yang is a fool….it makes absolutely no difference to anything MM could have said to Mariano or Vice Versa after MM was all in. In fact it could help Yang if anything. After it was up to Yang to call or fold for $250k….any info Yang could pick up would only help him. MM could’ve secretly said to Mariano that he had KK and it would’ve been to no help to Mariano at all….but to Yang that info would be of immense importance. Yang is an idiot and that’s why he went broke.
Mandarin speaker here; All Yang was saying is “I don’t know what they were saying to each other”
Surprised no one is talking about how shady this hand was. From the beginning when Mariano was like oh oh I have 50k behind it’s just not on the table??? To dealer not cutting the deck then dealer lying about what Mariano said to the other guy in the hand. Seems like way more to this then the Robbie hand
Hustler's games are shady as hell....
