Checked the tape, and this was the only hand of the main event where Kassouf was not verbally abusive.
Benger did the impossible when he snapped. He made Kassouf not be the most unlikeable person in the room. Very hard to do.

This hand lasted 18 minutes. It's edited down for TV which is why Benger looks bad. Anybody who thinks they wouldn't be bothered by AA vs KK preflop taking 18 minutes has never actually played a poker tournament.

"Privilege" wasn't about white privilege, or anything else that people read into it; it was about him being able to talk to people like shit and just keep getting away with it. If it wasn't good for ratings, he probably would have got warnings and penalties for it already.
It was a bait. The entire thing was a massive bait for this guy. Benger knew he had a better hand, but if he suddenly raised Kassouf would know what was up. So he pretended to be angry, and Kassouf thought he raised out of spite.

Kassouf basically talked to Benger like this for 18 minutes (tv has shortened this hand immensely)...if I was Benger I'd do the exact same thing because this guy is the biggest piece of shit in poker. I'd probably be fine if he just talked super annoyingly all the time, but it's not just that. He tanks every single time the action is on him just to waste everyone's time and be a dick. He's the reason why poker will have to get a 30 second time clock because he's abusing the rules and everyone he plays against. While I'm no fan of Benger's behavior, Kassouf's 'speech play' was a deliberate attempt to get Benger to talk about his hand. If Benger responded to Kassouf's inquiries in any way, Kassouf would immediately yell 'floor' and get Benger penalized. That was his intent.
And instead Benger baited this guy in like a fish, the sheer look on Kassoufs face after he realized "Shit he baited me into Aces" was priceless.

okey maybe Benger shouldnt have said some things he did. But I also understand Benger. Kassouf was very disrespectful to the other players in the mainevent. Imagine yourself if you have been sitting next to Kassouf for hours and Days. He is very annoying and tanks unnecessarily long time alot.
There has to come a reaction to that sooner or later. So in that sense I totally understand Benger.
Have also listened to what Alec Torelli have said about this. Kassoufs defence is that he has not done anything illegal. But you also have to respect the game as such and be respectful to the other players. And that is not something Kassouf does during this mainevent.
