Don't forget that Reyn can also do a lot of damage by himself, and has ways to grab aggro by taunting, while Shulk is pretty good at keeping aggro off of himself
The guy who sells armor that sucks, his armor is actually there for the looks not the stats. It has a new armor design (in three colors) that wasn't in the original version on Wii or 3DS. And it looks pretty darn good, IMO. If you don't want to spend money on it, you can save, buy it, then load your save and it'll be unlocked as cosmetics.

I know it's been said before, but Melia and Tyrea and their relationship is the best part of this game. Every interaction they have is just... perfection.
It cannot be understated just how much the Monado REX + is Shulk's absolute best weapon in the game, on par with the Monado III, the attack multiplier is the same and it has even higher defense values, only outclassed by 5% in Block Rate and the absolutely incredible Crit Rate of 75 of III, but even then, without the basicly guaranteed crits of Monado III, 20% Crit Rate is still a juicy stat increase. For reference, Replica EX has the same starting stats as your starting Replica Monado in the main game, which is weaker than Monado II but has 25 on both defences and 5% Block Rate which the previous Monados had at 0, so what the Monado III does is combine the original higher attack power of Monado II and the defensive stats of the replicas and then pumps the Crit Rate quite literally to the heavens, so REX+ is basically that with more defense without the broken Crit Rate but still a higher one. The jump from Replica EX to REX+ is insane even if visually it doesn't really change that much which the game itself even points out. So basically, damn, those High Ether Crystals are something else man!

Hi @chuggaaconroy: There is one neat feature with swapping equipment that I have not seen you use or demonstrate: You can automatically swap the current gems by selecting the new piece of equipment, and hitting "+". Then it should give you the option to "Swap gems with current".

Whenever you equip new weapons or armoUr, I see that you also start with equipping new gems. You know there's a submenu activated with +, to put the current gems on the new armor immediately right? :)

one curious thing you can do, is have Shulk act as the Tank Dunban style, works way better than you think it should... also learn the attack patterns and manually predict when Shield should be used... it was a pain to do it, but allowed for a lot of early success

Whenever you equip new weapons or armoUr, I see that you also start with equipping new gems. You know there's a submenu activated with +, to put the current gems on the new armor immediately right? :)
