13:45 - I don't think Kino being a more saturated green than Bana has anything to do with his model. He still has a HD texture, same as Bana, so it would have been textured specifically for this game. The likely reason Kino is so much more saturated than Bana is because he's a party member, and the saturated green helps him pop out more during a fight. Especially since the Bionis Shoulder is covered in greenery which is comparitively desaturated, it probably helps him pop out in fields and tall grass
I think it is a thing in general in Xenoblade and probably other cases of multiple worlds from the same writer too to have a certain type of character attached to a name. Translations have made this harder to track, but Xeno games in general have had a trope of a military leader named Vandham, this used to be a character with anger issues that would hit his underlings, I haven't experienced Xenogears at all so I don't know with that one, there is Vanderkam (or however it is spelled) in Xenosaga 1, and Vangare in Xenoblade 1. Xenoblade X then had the laid back and very muscular Commander Vandham, and now Xenoblade 2 and 3 both have a Vandham as a strong leader that guides the main party forward. I really enjoy finding cases of this because it creates a cool connection between stories.

Nene and Kino are probably my favorite Nopons. It used to be Tora, which I still hold in very high regard. I find Tora to be the funniest, the duo here to be the cutest and warmest, and lastly Riki I see as very wise, in his own way.
As the end of the world looms, now seems like a perfect time to take down the drug trade and share our feelings with our friends. Just normal xenoblade things. I legit did a double take when I first saw Bana in Gran Dell. He was the last character I expected to return, but I am glad he did. He's certainly memorable, and getting a second quest dealing with his nonsense was just the thing this game needed. If there was any sidequest chain that deserved to get a follow-up in Future Connected, it was his. It's the most memorable generic quest line, mostly because it is so long, so involved, and ends with the most ridiculous fight with the most ridiculous reward. And here we have round two. However, I never actually finished this quest. I was a bit under leveled for the fight, and never went back to finish it. Oh well. Guess I'll finally get to see how it ends. Bana is the exact type of love to hate that they were trying, and failed to do, with Gael'gar. I think just him being a Nopon is what makes it work. In that way, he's almost the opposite of Gael'gar. We were supposed to take him seriously, but the story failed to set him up properly. Bana, at first glance, does not seem like he could be taken seriously, but anyone who's played his quest chain in the base game knows he is definitely taken seriously. They even have the same battle theme, and Bana deserves it so much more. I would say "Poor Bana," but let's be honest, he deserves whatever punishment he has coming for him. Honestly, being forced to help people might just be the biggest punishment of them all for someone like Bana. That final quiet moment justifies this entire story. It's so good. This whole time, Tyrea has acted as Melia's foil. The peerless princess, and the shadowy assassin. So, it's a fitting conclusion to her arc that she finally accepts herself and choses to stand by Melia - her sister, whether she wants to admit it or not - as her shadow. She embraces being the foil, instead of trying to reject it. She recognizes that for both of them to continue towards their respective goals, they need to stand side-by-side. It's a beautiful moment, and for Nene to be the one to initiate it, by forcing them to finally talk as sisters, just brings it full circle. And then she flies away at the end, an ability no other High Entia before or since has shown. That, I'll admit, is a bit strange. And Melia calling Tyrea "sister?" Perfect. Melia's starlight kick idle animation is new to Definitive Edition, and it is adorable. Obviously, the developers knew that Starlight Kick is her most popular art, so why not lean into it? Maybe someday she'll be able to perform it while sticking the landing. Maybe someday.
Melia does canonically stick the landing of Starlight Kick in Xenoblade 3, but (SPOILER WARNING FOR THE POSTGAME) only when she uses it in Chain Attacks. She still falls over in regular battle.
Technically it's not the last Quiet Moment. There's one more in Alcamoth that unlocks after the Fogbeasts break through the Gran Dell wall (which I hope Emile shows considering how fitting it is to see before the final battle).
Does XC2 Bana engage in drug wars? I mean he is a crime lord guilty of many different crimes, but I can‘t remember anything involving drugs in particular.
37:20 I know a former Xenoblade NG+ speedrunner whom you even got help from occasionnally, Orpheolus, who DOES put Nene in high-tier Xenoblade character, albeit indeed not the top (reserved for, say, Mio and Jin, unsurprisingly). Outside of his killer tastes, yeaaaah, I... don't know any other Nene stans. She reminds me a bit of my brother too, outside of the dialect of course. This truly is coming to a close on 21, huh? It sure has been a lofty return to that series for me... And to this channel as a whole even after, wow, two, perhaps three years of not watching anything. Reminds me of days long gone, perhaps like those characters... Future Connected is very introspective, calm, soothing, almost inviting us to reflect on our past to aim for a better future, in a way. Quite the lovely voyage, one might say!
It's a really funny bit that the team is trying to connect Bana's plan with the rest of the sidequests like it's all connected, and Bana just says "no, just let me finish"
38:54 While you're right about the small icon in the events theatre, the quiet moment list icon is actually just a cropped version of her official XCDE artwork. The battle icon is completely different and, to my knowledge, actually completely unused. That does by no means confirm that she was planned to be playable, but I could definitely see that that's what happened anyway.
I would have LOVED it if Tyrea was a party member based on Mumkhar's animations/attacks. He only has two attacks, both being high damage physical attacks, but then that could make Tyrea a bruiser character. With the dual knuckle claw weapons, it would seem to make sense, and it's not the first time two characters shared animations with no correlation to one another (Zeke and Malos' swimming animations!)
I liked the Bana side quest a lot and how we got a another Bana in Xenoblade 2 but sadly no Bana in Xenoblade 3😭 I would’ve found it funny to see them or just a 3rd in some way
Watching this series I really like both Kino and Nene, and for a bit of defense of Kino being hyper fixated on being the Heropon. Keep in mind his adoptive father is legit: The Nopon that fought a god, and won. Likely embellished by Riki to a degree of five. Not to mention all the stuff in this game that expands the Heropon without him being here, like the fact he found a new berry just for Kino (and other weak winged Nopon) to use, man straight up just made a scientific discovery and handed it to Kino and said "Go, be heropon." -okay not exactly like that-- So Kino being laser focused to the point of "this is my personality now" makes sense, especially for a kid his age. I won't argue he's the best written, Tora's a good example of another way to do a Kino type character. Nene is also a bit more interesting and I agree with her "HUG IT OUT, YOU IDIOTS!" However, the two siblings are two sides of the same coin. Complimenting each other's stories. Kind of like Shulk and Reyn.
Tyrea not being playable is like in the base game with Alvis. In the battle with him and Shulk, you can view the party before the fight and Alvis has a party icon.
And the same goes for Dickson in the only fight that plays the song "Unfinished Business" (or "Unfinished Battle", depending on the source). You can have Dickson in the party, but you can't have him in the lead to play as him.
I love how the concept of Bana and his character being all conniving and obsessed with making money appears in Future Connected, when he is a character in Xenoblade 2. I guess the Xenofutures really are "Connected"
I didn't get to actually play through most of the sidequests this dlc references in my actual playthrough, but I still knew they existed thanks to your LP. You're the reason I enjoyed Future Connected as much as I did.
There was a weird thought in the back of my mind when we were doing all of the ingriedent quests. I thought about Bana but thought "No.. No he's at Frontier Village working off his debt there's no way..." I can't believe I missed him in the background of some of the scenes, it was so obvious! So many Nopon look alike, like Pororo reminded me of the maid Nopon from Miss Sweetness' sidequest. It was so funny, and yet serious, to see him get his butt kicked again by our team. With Tyrea and Melia, I do like how this does help to wrap up their story. To see more information on Yumea through her daughter's words and thoughts. It legit almost brought tears to my eyes especially at the ending with Melia calling her "sister mine". I agree with you on the music of "Hope" that it sounds very "Tales of Symphonia" like, as I'm a huge fan of that game series. That's a game I'd love to see you play someday, since you've mentioned it in past videos, but it is a long and obnoxious one to get 100% since it requires at least two playthroughs. And I couldn't agree more with you, Emile, about Nene. She is one of the sweetest yet sassiest characters I have ever met in a video game. She's so helpful and kind but will gladly dish out some pain if it's needed.
In that intro, I was confused as to why you were making those noises because I was watching Melia do her Starlight Kick and fall down. Then I looked at Kino and realized you were making the noises, he’ll probably be making, since he’s in the lead at that time.
Sounds about right. Fog King + Ending in one, and a whole postgame roundup which would include finishing the Ponspector storyline and a few notable lines. (Including the one that IIRC turned out to be basically foreshadowing Ouroboros forms)
@@TARDISESI’m confused though, because there’s still the Final Ponspector Side Quest that Chugga has left to do. Is he making a Bonus Video for it, or what? Probably, actually, because he did that for the Superbosses in XC2 Torna the Golden Country.
Nene is kind of what I wish a *certain web series* handled their big sister character. I love older sibling type characters, my favorite character in Xenoblade overall is Reyn, I also love Zeke and Morag in 2, and Matt and Lanz quickly grabbed my heart in 3.... Granted, 4/5 of them are also kind of idiots so that might also be a trend, but Nene fits rather nicely with them.
18:00 I remember having this same problem during my playthrough. I always assumed it was some kind of subtle psychological effect with how Shulk's jump is timed compared to how the circle is timed.
Kino trying to fly distracting Chuggaa from Mellie doing her Starlight Kick on the air at the start feels very on-brand for Kino's attention seeking. This episode reveals a villain more nefarious than Gaelgar and more imposing and powerful than the Fog King.
Tyrea video Tyrea video Tyrea video 10:08 the great mighty poo but for real this twist had me shaking 14:33 but for real this side quest was definitely a highlight for me i love how it connects a bunch of the side quests we did on the shoulder and how it continues the biggest chain of quests from the base game also need to point out this means Gael'gar isnt even the biggest villain in FC side quests also we can see Bana's punishment after the quest he will run around gran dell over and over again 35:15 the song "hope" plays which was an unused song in the original game (oops you mention it in the video) 36:40 i wish tyrea would carry me while we fly over the bionis shoulder one extra point on the tyrea being playable thing that i just find mildly interesting is that she appears on the steelbook that comes with the japanese collector's edition which has art showing all the playable characters
8:10 And here someone was trying to say Maxis and the others weren't being racists against the Machina in one of the previous videos comment section. And here we hear it from the horses mouth. It's like I've been saying before, some people really miss the forest for the trees.
Media mismanaged these topics for a long time. It is natural that people would say "oh, the clearly racist characters are not actually racist because good guys cannot be racist, there has to be an alternative explanation for why the disagreement is framed like that". Kinda like the "never say die"-thing. Can't have a deviation from regular norms.
Mere moments before you started gushing about Nene, I said out loud that this LP made me really love Nene. She is just The Big Sis, and she does a phenomenal job as such, and not just to Kino. Riki was previously mentioned to somehow be the best character in Future Redeemed despite not appearing in it, and most of how that happened is told through Nene, I think to a greater extent than through Kino.
@@tatltails3923 I guess it's just a bit odd to me that it was an ironic title, but now it's an unironic cool role. I guess that might just be Riki again.
@@ekimmak It's probably a generational misunderstanding because Riki's kids don't realize they ate themselves into debt. In japanese, it is just "yuusha", literally just meaning Hero, so it is easy to mistake because there are other people in the world who are called "Hero"(Like people calling Duncan that). Maybe it even became the inspiration for people being categorized as "Heroes" in Xenoblade 3, though that game uses the english word transcribed instead.
At that point, I was just thinking about the VOC, the British East India Company, literally every colonial empire, and there are likely many others like that.
23:58 Spoiler alert for Xenoblade Chronicles 3: This is probably a stretch, but could this be foreshadowing? He might be one of the people who got stuck in the cycle of reincarnation on the side of Keves, and this could be a symbolic way of foreshadowing that. Visions of the future is a reoccurring theme in this series, after all.
Only people who were in their adolescence at the time of the merge got put in the reincarnation cycle, and that time was confirmed to be at least a couple decades after the plot of the game. So sadly, no one who's alive right now would be in the cycle.
@@tatltails3923 That's true, I forgot that detail. Still, the similarity of the dream still has me thinking it's meant to be foreshadowing even if he didn't end up inside the system himself.
Personally, I must politely disagree about Kino, Emile. While he doesn't have as many standout moments as his sister, I absolutely loved a lot of the heartfelt moments we got to see with him growing into his own and interacting with the other characters. He honestly reminds me a lot of a shy version of Tora, and Tora (when not getting screwed over by Japan's weird perviness) is one of my favorite characters in Xenoblade. tbh there's not a single playable Nopon (PLAYABLE Nopon) in the main trilogy (the MAIN trilogy) that i don't like in some regard, and I think it's because while they seem like they're gonna be the stereotypical "cute annoying animal mascot" species, each of the 6 playable Nopon in the series have something that makes them admirable to me. Hell, even Riku and Manana, who I found kinda boring on initial playthrough, had some bits I really enjoyed about them. Gonna be honest, I am a massive Nopon apologist, and I love seeing what each Pon brings to the table. And Kino and Nene are no exception.
So Bana is back making use of belongings from people in Gran Dell to recreate his Highmore Caviar under a new name called BanaXxX. His scheme ended but Radzan took interest in the drink he developed and plans on having Bana help him with developing it into a tonic.
Ya know Having not seen XC3 yet I feel like Gaelgar is least right in the head of the various villains in the series The guys a freaking wacko regardless of if they could have built him up more or not
I do agree. Nene is an amazing big sister and protective/supportive sister. Kind of wish her character was in a longer story where we got to see more of her
Kino's dream about diving into the Brog mouth makes me think of the climax of the original Men in Black, where Tommy Lee Jones antagonizes the giant alien bug in order to get his gun back. Though I still feel like we need fanart of Kino being scared while having his picture taken while riding Splash Mountain. I guess the Glutton's Herb wasn't MSG after all. I don't know what it is, but it's probably a lot less wholesome. ...and of course, the whole plan was orchestrated by Xenoblade's equivalent of Jabba the Hutt. As for Nene, I reckon Tim is probably Chugga's Nene.
It never had any shot at being MSG. MSG does not magically make "anything and everything taste good" and thus wouldn't have helped Radzam with the issue of making his new type of food.
6:10 I have to admit, I think that Kino suffers from the short run time of FC. Especially since the Bionis Shoulder is covered in greenery which is comparitively desaturated, it probably helps him pop out in fields and tall grass
And to stand out from the ponspecters, and it resembles Riki's fur a little.
I swear it's Xenoblade law to have every Nopon by the name of Bana to be a greedy, money/power hungry gremlin
Actually it is as of right now
It basically is yeah lol. If there is a Nopon named Bana they Must be a greedy, money and/or power hungry gremlin.

@@Zachruff She is, apparently. Breaking Bana season 2, come to reclaim A Tragic Decision as his battle theme
I love how the true Tragic Decision boss came back to outshine Gaelgar
Legit almost choked at the sound effects at 13:00
Nene and Kino are probably my favorite Nopons.
25:01 I couldn't help but think of that one stream where Chugga and a certain flower girl got shipped accidentally.
Two episodes left… IM NOT READY
**hugs** Me neither. But i am looking forward to his next Let's Play.
I have a sticker of Nene on my bookshelf, it came with another Xenoblade sticker I bought, and you've given me a newfound appreciation of her.
No matter the era, Bana is a drug dealer.
Does XC2 Bana engage in drug wars? I mean he is a crime lord guilty of many different crimes, but I can‘t remember anything involving drugs in particular.
@@tirex3673 Maybe just a crime ring, but same difference.

@@LinkMountaineer Rule number 1: _Never_ *EVER* trust a Nopon named Bana.
Didn’t expect him to return here either, by the way.
@@moviemaker199 One has to wonder how Bana has a variant in every Xenoblade universe.
The edits on Bana were glorious lmfao.
If I started replaying XB when Chugga started uploading this series? Oh, absolutely. Gotta scratch that itch
No matter what universe he is in, Bana will always be iconic!
the future within our grasp sounds like something Rex would say after monologuing about his travels with Nia and Pyra
I do appreciate that Tyrea has such an overly serious and mature attitude that she has zero patience for the child-like demeanour of Nopons.
*Nene:* Sisters should be friends
*Tyrea and Melia:* It's more complicated than that
*Nene:* Is it, though?
Everyone's favorite drug lord! BANA!
Anyone else surprised some nopon named Bana is up the the usual antics in every expansion but not in either of Xenoblade 3 stories?
I liked the Bana side quest a lot and how we got a another Bana in Xenoblade 2 but sadly no Bana in Xenoblade 3😭 I would’ve found it funny to see them or just a 3rd in some way
10:41 it would behoove us. We have a typo!
I agree. Nene is a great character. Sometimes I think about the sidequest where you learn she became afraid of climbing tree's.
First time I’ve ever seen the nopon on the back of Nene’s “Paddle”
She did promise she'd give spankings...
Nene with her bone upper saying: NOT TODAY, BANA!!!
.....I will never be over the Tyrea and Melia moment with Nene
I never knew about this side quest when I played through Future Connected, so hearing the name Bana was very shocking.
Chuggaa finding "the big loud one" less annoying. Hmm, there's something in that. It's on the tip of my tongue.
Chuggaa time. My favorite time of the day.
I agree!!

I am here early for once. I can't think of a good pun, so I just want to say whatever you play next, I'm just happy you're back for now Chugga.
aww your little essay about Nene at the end is so cute 🥺💕
Tyrea not being playable is like in the base game with Alvis. In the battle with him and Shulk, you can view the party before the fight and Alvis has a party icon.
And the same goes for Dickson in the only fight that plays the song "Unfinished Business" (or "Unfinished Battle", depending on the source). You can have Dickson in the party, but you can't have him in the lead to play as him.
12:37 he's literally that one sadcat meme
I love how the concept of Bana and his character being all conniving and obsessed with making money appears in Future Connected, when he is a character in Xenoblade 2. I guess the Xenofutures really are "Connected"
I didn't get to actually play through most of the sidequests this dlc references in my actual playthrough, but I still knew they existed thanks to your LP. You're the reason I enjoyed Future Connected as much as I did.
I. . .do have to question this interpretation of Yumea's will. . .given how much she utterly hated Melia.
Almost done with this journey
There was a weird thought in the back of my mind when we were doing all of the ingriedent quests. I thought about Bana but thought "No.. No he's at Frontier Village working off his debt there's no way..."
I can't believe I missed him in the background of some of the scenes, it was so obvious!
Only 2 episodes left to Future Connected, I think. Time went by a little quick.

2 days left... I was thinking about what kind of divine punishment Sheba would cause if she saw this...
Damn bruh been a fan since the Super mario sunshine playthrough, glad to see u still at it
Nene is kind of what I wish a *certain web series* handled their big sister character.
I needed this to unwind today. What an insane day it's been
That miss sound clip caught me off guard
the MOMENT Tom started this quest I knew who to blame.
15:44 Shulk looks so shocked
Nene is a real heropon because she doesn't even try to be a hero, she just is through her kindness
Oh my god, Bana in this game is the epitome of ProZD's villain that accidentally helps skit.
Kino trying to fly distracting Chuggaa from Mellie doing her Starlight Kick on the air at the start feels very on-brand for Kino's attention seeking.
This episode reveals a villain more nefarious than Gaelgar and more imposing and powerful than the Fog King.
You have no idea how loud I cheered when Tragic Decision started playing for this side quest

14:33 but for real this side quest was definitely a highlight for me i love how it connects a bunch of the side quests we did on the shoulder and how it continues the biggest chain of quests from the base game
also need to point out this means Gael'gar isnt even the biggest villain in FC side quests
also we can see Bana's punishment after the quest he will run around gran dell over and over again
35:15 the song "hope" plays which was an unused song in the original game (oops you mention it in the video)
36:40 i wish tyrea would carry me while we fly over the bionis shoulder
one extra point on the tyrea being playable thing that i just find mildly interesting is that she appears on the steelbook that comes with the japanese collector's edition which has art showing all the playable characters
Riki was previously mentioned to somehow be the best character in Future Redeemed despite not appearing in it, and most of how that happened is told through Nene, I think to a greater extent than through Kino.
... Wasn't the role of Heropon "The person in the most debt and has to do community service to work it off"?
But his adoptive dad's a Heropon (and actually saved the world while being so), so obviously it's the coolest thing ever!
That final Quiet Moment is so good
It is a bit of a shame that Tyrea wasn’t playable
Honestly, the "Hey Guys, it's Chuggaconroy" is so iconic to me. Literally one of my favorite things on TH-cam
Nene also also has the dreamcast logo on her cheeks so that bumps her up a tier too
13:32 Do you seriously think they aren’t? It’s like you haven’t even BEEN to Earth!
At that point, I was just thinking about the VOC, the British East India Company, literally every colonial empire, and there are likely many others like that.
Fifteen Nopon in one battle. And nobody found Trevor.
23:58
Spoiler alert for Xenoblade Chronicles 3: This is probably a stretch, but could this be foreshadowing?
I love the clarifiers you had to put in there just to exclude Tatsu from your praises.
@@tatltails3923 Tatsu deserves a special kind of place... in the garbage.

This Quiet Moment with Melia and Tyrea is great. I love it so much!
the funny thing is until Bana was name dropped I joked that theb "Esteemed Person" Pororo was talking about might be a Xenoblade 2 Nopon
Which ironically could also have been Bana
38:09 what a Strange Looking Pineapple, I could imagine people mistaken Riki as a living fruit cause he looks too adorable in that outfit
6:10 I have to admit, I think that Kino suffers from the short run time of FC. If they had a little longer of an adventure, he most likely would have been written with more nuance.
7:51 RE:Quest description. Why not every character? All at once?
11:26 So... I actually made an earlier comment questioning if Bama was Bana. I literally didn't know Bana was in FC! I guest I didn't talk to Maxis to start this quest during my playthrough!

36:08 Man, now I want to see Tyrea interact with the other cast members as well.
39:41 Lot to unpack.
* This was a fantastic Quiet Moment. I'm so glad that they went back and finished not only Melia's story, but Tyrea's as well.
* Nene is a great addition to Xeno. I have no complaints with what they did with her and she deserves to be brought up more. (Aside from one of her quotes being, "Run of Nopoponomill", which triggers my dyslexia something fierce.)
