What a great bit of nostalgia for me watching this video. I remember many happy holidays at Grange growing up back in the 60's and 70's with my parents and older brother. We would go at either Easter or Christmas time and always stayed in Berners Close Guest House Hotel, sat in it's lovely gardens and situated just behind the Lido.
I can clearly recall walks with my mum down to the promenade via a bridge, which is now gone, behind the Lido, and then going the same way you came, but in reverse.
We went under the same subway and eventually came onto Cart Lane. On the left are sunken gardens and some cottages/houses right next to the railway line. We would always like to pick out our favourite house and garden.
Fabulous memories. Thank you so much for posting this video!

Same for us. It was a magical place and experience I’ll never forget. We used to love waving at the trains and swimming in the Lido but most of all? Sailing our boats in the boating lake. Fabulousto hear your story and just to get one person back there so to speak is great! Thank you Paul

What a lovely video, Paul. Thank you SO much for uploading. We have had several wonderful holidays in Grange and at Kents Bank and this certainly brings back the memories. By the way, Arnside was once the junction for another railway line across to Hincaster Junction on the West Coast Main Line. It followed the banks of the Kent for some miles with stations at Sandside and at Heversham. What a journey that would have been!

I didn’t live there but holidayed for years. It’s just a super world in Grange. Hope you get the chance to do it! I had an original mini back in the day. I do prefer my Aygo now as it doesn’t leave an oil slick wherever it goes!!! Paul

The bay is huge Paul - I can see why you need a train to get around it even. A few birds spotted along the way and how good is that? The Lido is opening up. A fantastic area mate with some memories. Good going. Mark

Sadly for me 'Grange' felt like gods waiting room. And mud is no substitute for golden sand. Confused the curlew here for curfew where after 8 the town was devoid of life. I had wanted to love the place as I was on a flat viewing mission.
