    I thought the line about how only folks who invoke free speech are fools, the rest respect it and live accordingly was a great turn of phrase. I actually stopped the video to write that one down. I know it goes without saying at this point, but great job. This channel is quickly becoming one of the indispensable gems of Pathfinder resources

    Great video on the region of Golarion that is dearest and near to my heart: the River Kingdoms or as they are called after my playthrough of Pathfinder Kingmaker for the PC in a bit of personal headcanon and extended lore based on the outcome of my playthrough the Kingdom of Asharniel Lornflame, ruled by the wise King Erasiel Darkar I from the city of Lornflame, I'm actually working on a fanfic detailing the story based on my gameplay. But yeah the River Kingdoms are dear to my heart mainly because they were where my first adventure in the World of Pathfinder happened. I will note there is one VERY ancient civilization that did establish itself in the River Kingdoms before Worldfall that you could have mentioned in the intro but that was only for a breif time historically speaking a kingdom established by Cyclops from the failing Empire of Ghol-Gon but it didn't last long, mainly because of the Lich Vordekai, but for a time they were a decent sized kingdom albiet for only a couple of centuries before Worldfall wrecked everything: granted their domain covered the eastern most end of the River Kingdoms in the Stolen Lands in the lands east Tors of Levenies mountains where Varnhold ends up being founded. But yeah they are a very interesting culture and I'd love to see a video on Ghol-Gon and Cyclopes in Golarian at a future date.

    I love this lore. It’s the little details in history that really fleshes out the setting. My only gripe with this region of Golarion is the names in this area are not consistent to show the believable ethnic lands. You’ve got the influence of Iobarian names, Kellid names and Taldan names.

    Hi! I recently discovered your channel, and I appreciate all the effort that goes into it. I think your work collecting and pulling together all these different threads is fantastic, and the maps are really helpful.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grave6983 That's a much, much larger lift - especially on the longer videos, which already take a ton of time to produce. Plus some of the art comes from Pinterest, where correct attribution is difficult to find. In a few cases (like on the Tolkien video) I have credited artists, but in the broad strokes I've decided thats not something I can manage unfortunately.
      If you want to track down the art, its labrious, but if you're looking for the artist, you can screenshot the image, and 'search by image' in google. You should be able to find the source file. Or ask me about specific assets you like.

    the part about the fishpeople war at 10:11 is why pathfinder is so insanely cool. where else are you going to find a world where the writers have thought about what a salt water fish people war in freshwater landscapes would look like and how that would go down and the consuqences of it.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Its super simple - I use all free software to make them. I use GIMP for windows.
      Step 1: Grab any official pathfinder region map for the base layer
      Step 2: Create a layer called 'borders' and draw the borders you need based on lore/history/your game needs. You can do this with a mouse if you're patient but this 1000% easier with a WACOM tablet or similar tool.
      Step 3: Create a new layer called 'color'; set it at 30% opacity so you can see through it and then fill in the various regions with a fill color so you can see the individual regions you've demarcated
      Step 4: Add labels - I tend to do the labels in black then merge all the text layers and select-by-color to get all the labels; grow the whole selection by 2-3 pts, feather the selection by 2-3 points and then fill that selection with white. This puts a white outline on all the text so it pops a little more to the eye. I also tend do this in a separate layer so I can lower the opacity if I need to (if the white is too poppy for the color grade of the map)

      It depends on how that AP canonically ends. If you read the last section in the AP ("Continuing the adventure") they suggest about a half-dozen ways this thing could turn out. 2nd edition has yet to confirm the future of Pitax as far as I can tell. My assumption is that Irovetti is dead, imprisoned or exiled, and that someone else is in charge, but it remains a separate kingdom.

They leave it pretty open-ended here. I suspect most playgroups will probably call it day and move onto something else once the threat Nyrissa represents is either defeated or dealt with in an alternate way but you could also just keep it going indefinitely.
