    I think its very impressive just how organic all the lore developments in Golarion are and just how naturally they flow into eachother. Paizo is really good at this kind of thing.

      Absolutely. Considering the setting covers a broad range of genres, when you get into it its all surprisingly coherent.

    Nice video. Though I can can see why some wouldn't like it, The Divinity crashing and influencing Numeria never bothered me. IMO, it was just as much a pulp Edgar Rice Burroughs homage as anything else in the fantasy kitchen sink approach of Pathfinder. DnD did something similar in an older module, CITY OF THE GODS. Hell, one of Greyhawk's gods was an ascended cowboy!
    That said, I do wish that the Divinity wound up in Northern Arcadia instead, to give the plot thread a more "Area 51" vibe. Honestly, I'm curious to see Arcadia more fleshed out.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I imagine now that they're doing Tian-Xia we can look forward to some more regions getting the deeper treatment. Would love to see Casmaron and Vudra get fleshed out as well.

    Nice.
    Hey, quick question. Of the top of your head, whats the most well known (in universe) active portal to the First World that works? My party just arrived in Absalom and the Sprite wants ask around for information on how to get to the First World. I just can't find a name of a location.
    Also, is the Sprites living to 40 on the Material Plane thing still cannon in 2e?

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hmmm... Sevenarches in River Kingdoms, Grungir Forest in Linnorm Lands, and Feyfrost in Irrisen are the most famous places with open portals I think. As for sprite lifespans, I assume that unless I hear information that explicitly contradicts 1e lore, that all 1e lore is still canon.

    I am playing as a winter witch who's deity is Alglenweis this deity fits pretty well with my character he is a noble but left to become a adventurer do to the fact that male witch's can't really advance in Irrisen society

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a great character concept and Alglenweis is a really underused deity. Since she is the daughter of a demon lord, as a deity her story parallels yours, as she is generally regarded warily by the other neutral and good-aligned deities, never really fitting in, so she was kind of forced to forge her own path. This is great way to make your choice of deity reflect the essence of your character in a meaningful way.

    • @pugking4518
      @pugking4518 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@TheMythKeeper Agreed this is why I picked Alglenweis as my character deity she is a bit of a odd ball which works for my character because his parents are baroness Pavlina and Oddvar Pavelsson he was raised in a loving environment so he is not as mean spirited as the other winter witch's which makes him a bit of a odd ball

      Pulura was really popular among the Sarkorian kellids, but less so among the Yurktiri. That said, as described in the video, many Sarkorians fled to the Mammoth Lord realms after the worldwound opened, so there's probably a fair bit of Pulura worship now among the tribes.

    It's interesting watching this one because it feels a lot like the content was written by people who've never met nomads and don't have any significant elements of it in their culture/history. The idea of nomadism as a rejection of modernity and nomadism vs settled life being a strict either or especially stand out. The way that connection to herded animals and nature is portrayed also strikes me as a little off. It's detached in just the right places to break suspension of disbelief for me.
    That said I do like the idea of a particular band continually travelling in the same direction and spending a season in the Fey realm. That's great.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its always fun in this setting when the creators push their thumb down on the fantastical button. Although there isn't that much official lore about them the Amethyst Eagles are another following that I found compelling as well.

      @@TheMythKeeper That's something I'm really enjoying about these lore videos: the points where it feels like they went further with the fantasy than I've seen any other game do. Because why not? If you've already established magic, travel between planes and a fae realm that's most traversible if dangerous... why not winter in another realm? Why wouldn't that be just another migration pattern? It feels so obvious and yet I've never seen it done before and that's great.

  • @Helltanz98

    With regards to your timeline, I am under the impression that the 4th Mendevian Crusade ends in 4707 and that that the fifth begins on Armasse of 4713 now that goes off of the PNP adventure path and may be contradicted by later sources, and there is some dispute about whether or not the 4718 end date is canonical.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the crusade dates were slightly different in the Lost Omens World Book from the publish date of the AP, so I went with the later source. It could also be a mistake on my part of course!

    An issue with them using oral traditional even when memory becomes unreliable is that most often we find cultures that had oral tradition turned to recording it in some way when it is believed photographic and excellent memory began to decline. Human beings aren't stupid despite lacking technological advancements and would realize this issue soon as retelling began to show issue with the younger generation. To continue to use oral when they can't recall it well or aren't trained to learn it all seems stubborn and pretty dumb.

    • @TheMythKeeper
      @TheMythKeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Something I didn't point out but that you may want to note in your games is that there are non-humans, including Forlorn Elves that are members of the Mammoth Lord followings. Elves tend to be lorekeepers, and since they live almost 10x as long as a human they can help stretch that record with better accuracy over much longer periods than cultures in our world would be able to.
