Dude, it's actually so good in swat 4. You can't go back once you've used it so long as you edit the xml file the same way karmacut does, but its a more tedious effort... For real though, it's a trip when my team knows exactly what I mean when I say "Just use the fuckin shotty on the door" because obviously "shotty" was not originally understood as "shotgun" and you OBVIOUSLY can't expect a computer to understand what "fuckin" is. "yeah, nah, fuck that" was one of many ways to cancel an order. "Scum, freezebag" counted as a shout for compliance. "Cuff 'em, boys" would have my team cuff every compliant person in the area. "TOC, this is entry team, we've gained access to your wife's asshole" just so you might hear "Rrrrroger, EMTs standing by..." as a response. Good times.
I am disappointed more games don't implement voice control of some sort. I remember playing Tom Clancys Endwar and the whole game could be played using voice commands alone. It really made the experience unique.
Voice attack has been a game changer for me in Elite Dangerous as well. You'll command your ship to do stuff with your voice that isn't easy to map onto a HOTAS or dual joystick setup. It makes VR flying in ED a glorious experience. This seems like the best way to play RorN. I wonder if the devs would add support for individual shortcuts for every single command. It would make VA the defacto way to experience this single player campaign mode.
Great stuff, just ran a few missions with your profile and it worked smoothly despite my Finnish accent. Few small issues and improvement ideas, should you be open to feedback: 1. Element Search/Sweep commands seem to be bound to 4 (Hold) instead of 6 (Search&Secure) 2. You can consolidate voice command alternatives on a single line by using semicolons (;) instead of making a new command for each - so instead of e.g. Wedge it Wedge that Wedge this Wedge up each on their own line, you can have "wedge it;wedge that;wedge this;wedge up" as a single command. Greatly reduces the visual bloat of the profile config. 3. The profile appears to lack commands for Breach - Ram. 4. Consider adding Gold/Blue/Red alternatives for Element/Alpha/Bravo - referring to them by color is ingrained in my brain from Swat 4 VoiceAttack days. Like I said, great stuff - the only real issue is the misbind for element sweep, and that's an easy fix.
I use VA for all kinds of games... DCS's radio menus to call AI Tankers / AWACS / etc. , i used it with rFactor with the engineer mod to have him reply and take my commands to setup pitstops, yet i didn't even remotely think about using it for RoN! Definitively going to set it up right away. Thanks for bringing this up!
This seriously got me hooked to the single player. I was having the same issue and didnt want to shift through menus constantly or getting shot while doing so. This completely changed the game and makes single player my prefered option now. Thank you Karma
AI will also say “Move! You’ll get shot there” if you walk between them and a suspect. Unfortunately nothing is ever perfect but it’s a pretty okly accepted change which benefits
Thank you for this video! This has allowed me to play a lot smoother and quicker. I have a severe loss of vision and hearing that is complete on my left side and partial on my right. This makes playing the game fluid and allows me to play without struggling to read the scroll wheel prompts.
We have Voiceattack for such a long time. I don't understand why developers don't implement real voice controls themself of these kind of games or at least improve how it can work together with voice attack by letting us make simple hotkeys for commands or even better offer software hooks for it directly.
Cause it's a lot of work, even the short cut functionality you mentioned. And considering they just released, they were probably more focused on bringing playable content rather than adding quality of life features. I assume it's going to be part of one of the next larger updates though
@@Kaenguruu Honestly it's not that much work if you just use the windows voice recognition like voiceattack also does. Single devs do it on EA launch like phasmophobia and all those other ghost games. It's really not that difficult in a basic form and it would've been a nice fit with the AI rework.
@@FluxNoise And does this game look like its putting in something in a "basic form" directly after or at release? I don't think so. Give them some time and they'll implement it in a way that fit's the game.

My son and I started playing this last night, and one of the first things I thought about was the older R6 and End War games that let you use voice commands. I've been using Voice Attack for games like Elite Dangerous and was thinking it could work for Ready or Not and then came across this video. Thank you for posting this up.
Great video and content. I recently discovered your channel after I got back into RoN and DK2! Keep it up! Instant sub I just started using Voice Attack with RoN and it`s changed the game completely.
