I just now beat this map. The way I ended up strategizing that was successful for me was starting on the rooftop, taking the top floor then splitting each team to the left and right and I just worked with one team at a time clearing each side. Once we cleared that floor, we would regroup back on the stairs outside and clear the bottom floor with the same technique. Using door wedges was a HUGE benefit.
Yes wedges are very useful on this map. I made it on my first try by entering from the rooftop and clearing the floors one by one. Wedges saved me from getting pancaked in those very long hallways, the spawns decided to put most of the secret service dudes in the upper floor for me
This mission broke me as well. Took me so many times to get through it without any casualties on my team. Fantastic level design. The lay outs of the hallways and some of the larger rooms are an absolute CQB nightmare. Also love the haunting ambient sounds. If any of you reading this are struggling with it, this is how I managed to beat it: 1. Enter the hotel from the bottom floor (wedge the door to the upper floor). Use an explosive charge when you see an enemy on the other side of the door to the bottom floor with your wand. Also check the windows from the catwalk. Heavy use of gasmasks and gas really helps on this mission. The launcher also helps get the grenades further into halls and large rooms. 2. Once inside, immediately wedge the door in front of you to the butler area, and to the left at the end of the hall. Then head right to the large staircase, which usually has no enemies, as it is one of the possible entry points. 3. Head upstairs, and wedge that door too. You can take a peek to see if any enemies are about and if doors are open or closed. 4. Head back to the bottom floor, now remove the wedge at the end of the hallway and clear that passage next. Wedge the doors to the large room and hallway. Make your way to the balcony area at the end of the passage and use that to clear out any enemies on the outside. Preemptively shoot any of the windows, so you get a good look at the upstairs area as well. 5. Once you've done some sniping, don't clear the large room, but head back, remove the wedge from the butler area, and clear that room next. Also clear the large room adjacent to it, and post one element at the far end of the hallway with open doors. 6. Now gently eat away at the rooms, clearing them carefully one by one. Prioritize clearing rooms with an already open door. Gas them or bang them. 7. Once most of the bottom floor is cleared, attempt to clear the two large rooms at the far left. One should be mostly safe due to your preemptive sniping. The other you can now enter from two sides simultaneously. Beware, it has a dangerous staircase that you should post another element at to keep an eye on it. 8. The most tricky part is to now clear the upper floor. The upstairs hallway is a deathtrap. One way is to head back to the fireescape and clear the middle section, and then head straight into the large adjacent room (next to the body). 9. Once cleared, post an element at the doors that lead back into the other half of the hallway, with open doors. Wedge the door to the passage ahead. 10. Now you should have any remaining enemies trapped between your two elements. Give it time to breath, as some of the enemies will be dumb enough to wander into your trap, where your elements can pick them off easily. This is not a fool proof plan, and may still take a few tries. A lot of weird unpredictable stuff can happen in any Ready or Not mission. Victory requires a lot of patience and carefulness.
Been trying to at least get a B on this mission… even after hours of playing I can’t keep an officer or myself from dying. I just stick to training instead of commander mode. This map is an absolute nightmare
