They removed all the dead bodies, it doesn't even look like a school shooting, still cool that they've made the map.
Good to see they stuck with this. You can't make something based in reality like Ready or Not without acknowledging real life scenarios that happen, as horrific as they may be. Highest respects to the devs, and I'm glad I bought the supporter edition.

Me and my mates killed all the shooters (there was like 5) and then spent 15 minutes looking for all the civilians, kinda badly designed unless that’s an experience only I had

@@allengordon6929I don't think sending 5 officers to stop a mass shooting and then make them comb through every room looking for civilians or evidence is realistic at all. Trailers would be useful for this but they are currently bugged.
@@madspooks that was the plan in uvalde (the problem was instead of using a swat team they used border patrol. US border patrol is infamously corrupt).
I like how people say this map is controversial when it's just realistic.

First time I played this map in singleplayer I got super pissed that I couldn't save everyone, I heard shouts and gunshots and all I could do was clear one room at a time.
I almost think they should add another game mode where you’re a first responder and maybe there’s only one or two of you but you can run and the goal is to save as many as possible
yeah that's why an active shooter scenario needs to be played with real humans, because our quick reaction is miles better than AI

I think with this map they should’ve kept it all a mystery. Have us explore the school trying to find the shooter, and as we search we find survivors and dead bodies having to call them in. We find the shooter but he’s already dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The whole map being just atmosphere, the wonder if we’re going to run into the shooter or not. I think that would work well seeing as how atmospheric and dark this game can really get
That would be a really cool RNG variation. Sometimes the shooter is active, sometimes its a suicide.

Ready or Not really stepped it up very realistic! The fact that you hear shooting in class rooms down the hall is pretty crazy!
It adds a sense of urgency, if you take too slow, more kids are gonna die

Damn, that one time I had a lockdown at school, some kid had brought in a fucking AR. How he got it in, no fucking clue. Thankfully he was apprehended before he started shooting
Don't want to get into the politics of this but part of me wishes people could conceal-carry on college campuses for self-defense reasons, part of me doesn't for potential escalations of fights.

Most people who ccw are normally carrying medical and know how to use it too. I think even if you're against hanging a weapon, maybe consider learning some combat/first aid and having some medical on hand as an EDC.
Interestingly, one of my favorite maps because of how real and modern it is, down to the set up classroom panic rooms.
The world turned a blind eye when Ubisoft added the Bartlett university to Rainbow Six, but when Void wants some freedom in map creation, media cries. Good on Void for showing the hard truth of being a student. Hopefully this map can act as a training scenario for officers to approach a brutal reality.
soooo true i have buddies that were like NOT COOL READY OR NOT SHOULD NOT DROP THAT MAP! mean while the Rainbow six map is about a damn chemical bombs going off at a college which is wayyyy more messed up
I think the problem people have is that Ready or Not shows more of the human side of things. In other words, it gives a life and a voice to the victims of these attacks. But for R6’s case it’s just, “teehee chemical bomb go off and operator goes save them” R6 doesn’t provide a voice to the victims and portrays the victims as just casualties. Either way, good on void for release this map.
@@aftman5404 Have you seen the trailer for Bartlett university? That is by far more graphic to me. But it is indeed far less realistic. I can certainly understand where the outrage is coming from. All I'm saying is that media should hold Ubisoft accountable as well, Hollywood, etc etc. But they can't, because 2023 is not the year to censor the tragic reality many face on a daily basis.
Void is actively trying to mock american culture with this.
I'm not quite sure, as far as i remember they removed the article 4 mission.
BTW you can order the compliant suspects/civilians to move towards you or even to an other location, so you don't need to carry them anymore! I love this and I think it is one of the best additions to 1.0 although it is a small but it is an authentic tactic to get them off a tough spot, without endangering your self to a threshold. Also more convenient. ;)
Also also, I noticed you can tell civies to run for an exit if you dont cuff them, I think it would have been handy in this map, but I played this map before noticing that. Since those terrorisers may execute arrested civvies if they come across them.

@@NithinJune it was quite unintuitive, but there is only a few options before you cuff them, It might have been under "move" selection in the bottom. I cant remember what it was exactly called.
Also, you might have to go and cuff them after you secured the mission area, at least for me only some of them were cuffed automatically when they ran to the spawn zone in the Gas station mission.
Would be nice also if they added a small chance of the suspect not listening to you and the civilian being too scared to move when you ask them!
Also i thought they were supposed to implement trailers who bag evidence and take care of civilians once you've cleared a few rooms? They would be really useful in this map to take care of those civilians you send runing away!

Honestly, this map different, from the briefing to the 911 calls, I was constantly on the brick of turning it off😂😂😂😂 can't imagine what it would've been like if they kept it as a high school

This looks like just a normal active shooter on a new map with some fancy introductions. Don’t know whats so controversial about all the same stuff just with a school in the background, this stuff happens everywhere
Just because something is controversial shouldn't mean the public shouldn't have access to it. Controversies spark conversations and lead to problems being seen, heard and delt with. Really glad they added it in 1.0...
I expected more people to be trapped, like full on call of duty airport with dozens of students hiding in every room.

The game is already hard to run, adding in more civilians would make it impossible to play smoothly unless you have a beast of a setup.
Yeah it's not as traumatizing as the Club, especially the cell phones imo really brings PTSD to you
I was one of few that invested and paid the $120.00 in 2019 for pre beta pre pre pre Alpha access to the game. It was made outside of Steam and I was worried I’d be scammed or the game would be forgotten or never come to being fully released to version 1.0
I am so proud of the studio and devs for standing der ground even after losing the publisher. So happy I backed this .

I've run VR simulations of active shooter scenarios for work, and they felt less harrowing and immersive than just watching this.
The best detail of this map is its name "Elephant". At first I was confused, but then it hit me, "elephant in the room", which is an apt definition of school shootings in america
Also the name of a movie centered around a school shooting
@@lessthanthreemetal and the movie is based on Columbine, also the name of the high school in the movie is "Watt High School" or something like that...... so I think it's pretty clear that the devs based this map on the movie, and indirectly based it on Columbine

I think they should make an option where you have to return to the van or an evac point to complete the missions. That, along with options for not disclosing when enemies or civvies are cleared would be a nice touch to keep the tension throughout the mission.
Having it be a college instead of another school was a good choice lol
I think it was a weak choice but smart in the since that Colleges are larger and more tricky for a shootout while a Grade school or high school would be a very small mission with just hall ways no big lecture rooms or large cafeterias that being said it would be a real shock to walk thought a HS with dead kids let alone a preschool so i agree in that it was good choice to avoid getting banned on youtube ll
@rockzen8050 they maybe could have done a hs, I think elementary school isn't very realistic, lets be real we only had a handful of elementary school shootings

This reminds me of that one kid that made a map of his school on CSGO and got in trouble for it.
The bombs are a little annoying due to their random placement but overall this is a great map.

No other country has that issue despite some countries having more guns per capita than us Americans! Mental health is ignored to the detriment of our younger generation.
I fully believe in the 2A, but I can't ignore that we as a country have an issue with this kind of behavior. This year as of the start of Nov 2023 we have had 306 sch o o l sh o o tings!!! In 2022 there were 305 for the full 12 months.
There was a 417% increase in the number of sch o ol sho o tings between 2017 and 2022. Crazy.
Why are all the other Active shooter situations ok, but this is causing controversy? Why is this the most touchy form of violence? I am so glad they added this.

I love the cinematic replay
It took me two tries to clear this one, the first run i got all the shooters but i couldn't find the all the bombs, great level, it really emphasises paying attention to the brief and sticking to the principles of cqb and active shooter response.
I hope in a future update, VOID makes an extra large map that has 2 teams starting on opposite sides. It'd be exclusive for online multiplayer and be sort of a "raid" of sorts where the map is just filled with vertical threats and corners and hiding spots. One team can start inside somewhere, story-wise, they got ambushed, the 2nd team is the rescue team going in.
its so immersiv when clean talks about the game while you trying to make it cinnematic XD
Let's also remember that the very people who want this game canceled are those who: 1) want light sentencing for violent criminals, 2) want to prevent hardworking men and woman from protecting themselves, 3) idealized communist and fascist ideology over freedom through democracy.

If you can do so respectfully and tactfully, controversy should always be valid in art. I'm so glad they made this mission.
Next update they definitely need to make it an option to know when you’ve brought order to chaos. I agree that it takes the thrill of the game away if you already know. Plus in real life SWAT doesn’t know. I also think this map was so awesome in terms of really giving a perspective on what happens in these situations. It would be more interesting to have more students trying to evacuate or hunkering down in classrooms etc and having a more realistic scenario in terms of the terror people feel when going through something like this like hearing stuff like “they killed Jimmy” or students hiding under bodies or classrooms full of students rather than just 1 or two. I would also love to be able to open more of the rooms on each level. Like the hospital although it is already huge imagine having to clear the entire thing not knowing who or what is where. I know people were upset about this level but it gives a really good perspective on what SWAT has to do. I seriously love ready or not for how it makes me see the perspectives of law enforcement and the humanizing of both heroes and villains
Would also be cool to see tourniquet options for certain gunshot wounds that your team can assist you with. If you get shot in the arm a teammate can pull out a kit and work on you.
It's an unfortunate fact of life and putting yourself in a bubble of butterflies and happy bunnies won't make the problem go away.

A thing I find with realism games is that they have many aspects except the part that makes the job what it is. The squad takes out the graphic part of there fires, and patrol officers does the same thing. This is cause people want a realism game yet can’t handle the part of the job that gives it its purpose(from what I’ve seen)

They should’ve had people screaming and yelling completely freaking out at the dispatchers with no actual useful info + contradicting to make it really sink in what event you’ve entered.

I'm glad they made it through with adding this. The point of the game is to show a real scale simulation of being a swat officer. They deal with school shootings and it needs to be showcased in this.
I found the nightclub map (Neon I think) much more haunting, given the music, ringing phones, and masses of bodies. With the school map, I was too pressured to find and detonate the bombs so I couldn’t really focus on the details of the scenario.
A game like this would actually be very good for training purposes you know.
I think it's good to give us the chance for a natural response to a situation like this. The killers are not the heroes. The protectors are. Also, this is the reality now.
Whats also a big balled move is they named the mission 'Elephant' as a referance to the movie named elephant about the columbine shooting.

Mainstream media isn’t doing a good job of sharing stories of real heroes for the younger generations to look to as moral goals. Glad there are people out there still picking up that task.

First match here and I got 2 dudes who audibly sounded like the nerd emoji trying to tell reddit-tier jokes the whole time and shooting civilians through doors
2nd time here a guy is mute and waits outside and says "he's cosplaying as Uvalde PD"
3rd time we had an actually competent team and finished with a C+
No matter how much care or respect the devs put in, gamers generally just arent gonna match that.
Personally a bit conflicted on this. I grew up through LOTS of shooter scares, and its something so stressful to have to deal with. My science teacher in HS survived the Vegas concert shooting, my younger sisters' schools got locked down SEVERAL times because of gun threats from incels and Klan fanboys, when I used to work for walmart the sister store down the road had a shooting that killed a few people and when the survivors were transferred to us for a couple weeks their eyes were just so grey.
I couldn't even listen to the whole opening section of this vid cause it just makes me shake a bit. Just brings me back to HS where they'd do surprise shooter drills but we wouldn't know it was fake until an hour afterwards. Weirdly once we're in the game I'm fine and can lock in and have zero issues. IDK if thats an overshare, but I understand why people weren't a fan of this being added, but also its kinda core to the type of game this is so I'm not upset that it was added. The only against- takes Ive seen is basically "people are gonna make jokes in this very recent traumatic thing" and yeah they were right.
I wonder if I'd think differently if it was younger me, still actively dealing with the posibility of active shooters as a student. I think now that Ive seen so many people deal with stuff WAY worse it kinda puts it into perspective. Like, the nebulous threat of potential violence vs kids abroad being explicitly PROMISED violence, at least in my case I'm only worried about 1 guy and not 40 + artillery and a fighter jet.

This makes the game kind of a horror game, I get chills everytime I play this map and it really scares the shit out of me :,)
I’m glad they added it in. I was much more invested in this level than any other. Even though it’s a video game there was this strong feeling of “Let’s kill these bastards.” As a former college student, this felt personal.

After finishing this map for the first time I decided to take a break from playing RoN, I was not knowledgeable about the map, too slow and got civilians killed. Very uncomfortable map to sit through indeed.
Will be back for S rank attempts but kudos to the devs for making this map, the last time we got similar experience was Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.
My only issue yhis entire update apart from performance is the ai, its incredibly annoying with how they can just snap on you and shoot through walls and shit
I agree. Check out Nexus Mods, mods like "No Crack for You" have been helpful in that regard.

@@andreasgajewski9524 nope, the ai will keep shooting at you through a wall for a solid second or 2 and even if your out of thier vision, like 90 degrees to thier side, they'll still immediately lock onto you and kill you, if anything it feels worse than before the update
@@sharkk127Them shooting through walls isn’t the issue, it’s their accuracy and reaction time. If an enemy takes cover you’ll obviously try to hit them through a wall or provide suppressing fire.

what rly suck with the bad guy AI - they all seam to be EX-Navy Seal/Delta snipers with their aim. also they still track you trough door/walls etc.
In another map you can actually see a Watt Community College hoodie. The fucking attention to detail in the maps and environment is incredible.

I love this map outside of having to defuse 2 bombs. I suppose it promotes the hasty nature that is essential to active shooter situations. Unlike barricaded suspects and search warrants, active shooter cases require immediate action and police can’t afford to take their time to assess every little detail.
So I’ve seen the item wheel, I just don’t know how to activate it, I see it under the gameplay tab, it’s an option between panel and wheel but I can’t seem to find it

just host a multiplayer friends only lobby, and you can play it by yourself
@@maf2528 I just finished the Ides of march and if you’re still stuck on it let me give you my recommendation for clearing it. Stay away from the main hallways and try to get into the rooms, the majority of them are connected plus it’s easier to watch your back. Also almost never breach doors either peek or use the mirror gun to check for traps first. Hope this helps
@@dr_coil9498 I do this but whenever I breach with cs gas and bangs, my teammates all die from a single veteran and then I get killed by one through a wall.
@@maf2528 if you check nexus there’s a mod that removes the ai’s wall hacks and stuff while still making them hella strong

The hospital and club maps are far more brutal than the Campus.
Im not saying it needed to be grotesk or anything, but there isn't a lot of atmosphere and there arent the little stories of survival that you find on the other maps.

@@Broodjemetbeleg Everyone blamed guns when the Orlando Club happened, ignoring the fact we have extremists infiltrating and being commanded from far away, like the shooter in that one. It’s only gonna get worse with the border situation, there’s where the true assault rifles and pistol auto sears (among other things) are coming in. I feel bad for those close to border, knowing our government let this happen through pure ignorance.
