Max is back for some more online matches in Street Fighter 6 and continues his journey to Master Rank with Ken Masters, as he battles against an absolutely unhinged JP!

This may get lost in the comments but I wanted to share a JP secret.
He has a tell during his command grab, in which he will pop out one of his feet during the attack. He only does this animation for the grab. I hope it helps people with the match-up a bit!
Honestly for me i use the audio to react to anything he does, its pretty simple once you get used to it especially since theyre all distinct enough and JP players all play about the same
You can also tell through the voice lines. He says "go" for the standard projectiles or "to shreds" with EX, and he says "away" or "prepare" for the command grabs.
Yeah, once you figure out their patterns then all you have to do is stay out of your own way. I use Akuma mainly and Demon Raid is the ultimate ace in the hole against JP because you can bypass the projectiles while initiating your own offense to get in range and do damage.
JP is such a gigachad that i don't even care about him being the sociopath archetype, the zoner 💀
He just looks so cool doing it

I love how max appreciates when his opponents catch him. He just loves this game and fighting games in general. And it is really the best way to get better. No anger, he sees it, appreciates it, learns

It's funny how the higher you go in the ranks, the less customized people's titles are next to their character. I noticed it when the Ryu V Ken match had both fighters with the same title lol
Even in lower ranks, there's still an abundance of people who don't customize their titles.
My guess is that they either don't bother or just don't know how. Idk
@@yourboyrussell6738I think don't bother is the biggest one. I'm stuck in middle ranks and see custom ones fairly common, but you're right in that other factors could be the culprit
I see my Red Lily title as a badge of honour it shows the work that's gone in.
Do any of you know how to add a additional thing for your custom title? I see other players have something under their ranking.
Because they're in it just for the gameplay and competition. Many of them do end up changing up their stuff once they reach a rank they are happy with though.
Each level of Manon's throw having its own animation is just such a nice little touch.
isnt it crazy that this level of detail or whatever you wanna call it is not whats expected of a $60 game nowadays

I just parry their shit out of habit, but then it gives me the slowdown of the perfect parry and I'm just like, "Oh, that's convenient". And then I just punish them with a throw. Looool

DI went from being everyone's panic button to never press it raw cause everyone has learned to counter it even Bronze players are getting there (which is honestly good)
Eventually it will get to the point that people will forget about it because no-one uses it and the cycle starts anew

for a vid called JP is a menace, I guess I expected more than one JP match.
I know it was a different video, but I want to thank you, Max, for the reaction to the Polygon video of how to get into fighting games. I just watched it and it saved me from giving up on SF6 Zangief after seeing the bad winrates in high tiers. The next two games I played with Gief were absolute dominations. I felt like your video helped me to stand firm in my desire to SPD.
A whole hour plus of my favorite content creator playing a game we love?! I think yes!! I could be playing sf6 right now. But watchibg max play fighting games is awesome to me. Feels like im watching my bro show me how its done.

TTV LOL is an ad blocker that works on Twitch, you can use it on PC or Android. In terms of balancing supporting Max and and watching ads, I agree with TH-cam being better, but wanted to mention TTV LOL since I always use it when watching streams/VODs

"Sit Down and Shut UP!" Exactly what I tell my kids when I'm tryna relax after a whole day of playin' and they still actin a fool.
Even though you messed up the combo, you still taught me that Cammy's spin knuckle can be interrupted with a jab. This is great! I usually try to parry it but only get a perfect parry like 1/10 times.
Ken is so fun to watch. Maybe it is just "because fire kicks" but I like it

I may not be good at fighting games, but I still enjoy playing them. Casual gamer, by the way. At the moment, the character I identify the most is Dee Jay. He's just there chillin', having a good time. lol

Ryu is weird. You don't think he does a lot of damage because he's not Marisa, but you look away for a moment and almost all your health is gone.
It’s because he isn’t a flashy as Ken but he does a bit more damage.
I think Ryu is really slept on in this game, I know he's the second played character but I mean in terms of strength in the game

Gooood im in love with every character and their new designs, but 50-60$ are big numbers for my tiny wallet, game look fun as hell.
It damn is fun. I ended up buying Xbox series for this game. Was more affordable than a ps5 in my opinion

We're feasting with these long vids it's a great cool down between my own play sessions. I'm slowly but surely getting better with Lily I want to play Chun as well it's nice being able to experiment in ranked.
I love that ranked is tied to the character so you don't have to tank your rp with picking up a second character. Such a good move by Capcom, and I guarantee that it will be the standard for all fighting games going forward.

@@GusMortis My worst was Cammy at silver 1 but I went in without labbing combos. Lily and Chun both started at silver 4, I've got Lily to gold 4 and Chun into gold 1 but I spend the majority of my time doing matches in battle hub rather than ranked.

Uk I just found smth kinda cool in the lab with Ken (tbf this is the first time ive seen it so if someone else has done it my bad). If u DI someone into the wall and get the wall splat, do EX Dragonlash kick twice, drive rush quickly to the opponent and immediately lvl 3 for some good damage. Granted I did this in Modern mode but, could be smth spicy 🤷🏽♂️

Fighting JP reminds me of fighting sentinel in MvC vanilla all over again. But people need their rank match points and will do anything to get there.

The DLC characters will have WT stuff so Capcom will probably expand on the story that way.

Ok, so.. Is nobody gonna ask how Max's Drive gauge instantly filled back up after going into burnout 0.1 seconds ago at 41:30?
I think i figured it out, and i dunno if it's new. But basically after recovering from stun (getting attacked, etc) you immediately get your Drive Gauge filled back up. I swear that's new.

You're already Master iirc, but for anyone who's struggling against Honda, you have to parry his headbutt and the slum, especially the headbutt because it's safe and it takes a lot of drive gauge if blocked. If you perfect parry then you can even punish both moves with a grab or a combo.
Ah, JP. I think he's ok to play but good Gill, I do not like fighting him. Though I will say that hitting him with Ken's running Tatsu and being able to combo off it if it counters as it flies through his spam is pretty satisfying

Can you always escape the throw @ 3:17 by back dashing? I get demolished by Cammy and that would actually me help a lot.
The back dash is better than teching the throw (back dash in general dodges grabs, even command grabs) but they're a harder read than throw tech. If you notice it he gets hit a few times trying to read the throw. But if you do backdash the throw you can get a decent punish counter with a medium drive rush or even a heavy depending on the character and the button.
