Tip for a gimmick that works on people. If you hit sMP in someone doing the back HP into HP lvl one (comboing into ex flash kick if it can kill) but otherwise you can do dash forward back LK to cross them up (a delayed sMP will always hit them because they either don't realise you crossed up or they mash because they think you're minus -youre so plus that you have to delay your MP or it'll miss lol) you can later on even switch it by doing dash dash into delayed MP okie so it doesn't cross up and confuse them. I hope this made sense and helped a fellow Guile :)
Diamond 5 is tougher than low Master. You got two types a players in Diamond 5, either committed grinders who worked their way up or demons who placed diamond 5 and it’s just a pit stop to high MR or Legend rank. In low master are the people who gave up and stopped trying after they hit master.
I disagree that low masters "stopped trying". People in the lower MRs mostly lack match-up knowledge, because grinding out matches on your own can only get you so far. I'd say only a third of my matches vs opponents in the 1300-1450 range are against bad players who refuse to adjust.

That first match skewed the expectations. It was Silver because the Zangief was throwing gimmicks and jump-scaring the Honda. The Honda was trying to play the game but just panicking in the face of a jumping/command-grabbing modern Gief. The Honda will progress. That Gief is forever-Silver.

Trying to do the right thing and having no reactions is how you lose to nutty gimmicks like the Silver Zangief at lower ranks. Reactions would crush that Gief's jumping and fullscreen RBGs, but anti-airs and reactions don't come online until at least Gold.

Small world lol, im 99% sure I'm the Luke that played Lily at 31:18. I was playing burnt out and got really low mr, but i got my Luke back to 1500 prior to the reset! Still trying to get a character to 1600 though.
The reason the ranks are kind of all over the place and low master is worse than high diamond is your rank is inflated directly by playtime. They made the ranking system very forgiving on losses so if you play constantly you will go up in rank even though you are losing and would be going down/staying the same in basically any other game. I would bet that the silver Gief/Honda that looked like Iron players have just played a ton of matches and the silver Akuma/Blanka are newer players that placed low and have practiced and improved a lot but haven't played a ton of ranked matches.
as a new player actually in Iron/Bronze, I haven't had fights like a lot of these that are ranked much higher. It's crazy. My opponents rarely jump, rarely throw out super unsafe stuff, and mash drive rush constantly (Justin said that doesn't happen until silver which is wrong lol). Shows the wide variance in all the leagues under Rookie through Gold I guess.

Very off topic but I got a big ass theory. What if DeeJay was trained by Guile? Both of them are charge characters, have slash related projectiles and kick related anti-airs. Both of them have green outfits or had them at one point. Air slasher and Sonic boom are kinda like gold ish colors. The same can be said for Jackknife and Flash kick but ig flash kick is more of a green ish color. Now if you don’t believe me there’s some similarities to DeeJay and Charlie/Nash too. First of all, both of them have a projectile where they can shoot 2 projectiles. Both DeeJay and Nash have like a special that’s a low kick, an overhead kick and then a sort of combo extending dp move (Jus Cool and Sonic scythe). All of them have a sobat move, with DeeJay and Guile having rolling sobat and Nash having jumping sobat. They also all have a knee move. DeeJay has knee shot, Nash has knee bazooka which is basically the same move and Guile also has knee bazooka but it’s a ground normal and not a jumping normal. All of them have a heavy punch that advances them forward, Guile and Nash literally have the same one. There has to be some relation between these characters
"this is not Silver III" Ive played from Silver I to Diamond I. Have a friend in Iron I as well. The Honda vs Gief match was 100% Silver. I understand why J Wong wanted to say Iron or Bronze but Silvers do crazy reactions or inputs every once in a while. The players werent nervous, inconsistent nor slow-in-reaction enough to be Bronze or Iron.

How to throw loop , how to delay tech throw, how to meaty and anti air consistently. With these 4 basics, you will go up to diamond, promised.

@@finnt4937yes your others characters can't get placed too far from your main one. When you first play ranked they asked you what level you think you are, I selected lowest level and after placements i ended in rookie. I also had to fight CPU for my first placements matches
I recently went back to my Plat 3 chun li that I haven't played since the first month of the game and I can confirm that DI spam is still huge even in high Plat 😅
Shun Goku Satsu (Raging Demon) for gits and shiggles: GUILTY. Also, I did this in the mindset of playing old school Akuma where this move had invincibility frames and was super affective on wake up. In Street Fighter VI, this is certainly not the case and I learned that the hard way.
Projectile invul though, so it does have spots. Also if you block something that's let's say -3OB, you can reverse with it as part of a strike / throw mix. Jab won't be out in time so they get scooped, IIRC backdash gets chased down depending on spacing / corner / whatever. Jump out works but loses to buttons, and those buttons are comboing into the strike CA for buckets of damage. OD DP works against both but if Akuma reads it they detonate.
As a plat 1 player I can confirm we know how to play the characters we are just missing key components ( for me my hands can’t keep up so my reaction time isn’t as good )
I watched 200 games between low master (below 1300mr) and 5 star diamonds. And I can guarantee you the diamonds are not better lmao. They can win a few games there and there but cannot beat the master player consistently. All the game were from Active players in tournaments and Battle Hub.
Silver is seriously so random at times. It's mostly people who honestly want to get better after placing in bronze but they get stuck against Modern Zangiefs/Kens/Cammys who literally can't drop combos.
Some of these players have a higher rank with a different character then when they change the character they are at a lower levels and working on ranking up
For that Juri vs. Marisa match at 27:07 "They're mashing on DI..." All I have to say is, having just recently moved past this level myself, low diamond is an awful lot of people that are the best at jump and DI. So before this one ends I'm saying plat 5 or Diamond 1.
The dlc character costumes for season 1 come with the fighter pass but if you buy the characters individually you have to buy the costumes seperately. Also Grapes being S tier is a 3rd grader take.

I really don't think doing charge moves is the indicator you think it is. I'm a beginner. I picked Guile because the idea of him is simple. I got placed in Rookie and I was doing charge moves right away. Now I'm slightly better in Iron and I do my charge moves and other people in iron on charge characters are doing theirs.
I think the akuma vs blanka that akuma has to be picking up a new character, cause he gave off more plat 1 w/some of those combos like he plays ryu a little. Cause there’s no way he’s an actual silver

As a Diamond player myself, I say that some people overrated this rank sometimes. From Plat. 3 to the Dm. 3 is almost the same gameplay.

I placed into iron when I first did placement matches. But then I eventually made it up to diamond with Cammy and then again with Kim

I watched 200 games between low master (below 1300mr) and 5 star diamonds. And I can guarantee you the diamonds are not better lmao. They can win a few games there and there but cannot beat the master player consistently. All the game were from Active players in tournaments and Battle Hub.
The diamond match that you thought was master looked like what Akuma players do to me in diamond 🤷

Silver is seriously so random at times. It's mostly people who honestly want to get better after placing in bronze but they get stuck against Modern Zangiefs/Kens/Cammys who literally can't drop combos.
Some of these players have a higher rank with a different character then when they change the character they are at a lower levels and working on ranking up
For that Juri vs. Marisa match at 27:07 "They're mashing on DI..." All I have to say is, having just recently moved past this level myself, low diamond is an awful lot of people that are the best at jump and DI. So before this one ends I'm saying plat 5 or Diamond 1.
The dlc character costumes for season 1 come with the fighter pass but if you buy the characters individually you have to buy the costumes seperately.
Also Grapes being S tier is a 3rd grader take.

I hit Diamond 1 for the first time ever recently with a barebones no lab time Rashid, feels pretty great. It was a bit reassuring that I got as close on these guesses as I did, though I still need practice. In my experience, players Plat 3 and below tend to have one thing they're pretty good at, OR they're terrible at everything, and I definitely saw myself in that analysis quite a bit having been through that whole road in a relatively near timeframe over a few characters.

I really don't think doing charge moves is the indicator you think it is. I'm a beginner. I picked Guile because the idea of him is simple. I got placed in Rookie and I was doing charge moves right away. Now I'm slightly better in Iron and I do my charge moves and other people in iron on charge characters are doing theirs.
