Seriously who are the 7 idiots that gave thumbs down. Do you have any idea what it takes to achieve this level of perfection, you must not play the flute or be a musician .
I love how Jasmine uses her facial expressions. It feels to me like it is a part of the playing and the sound making; like singers use their facial muscles and spaces to produce and refine the sound of their voice.
Wonderful arrangement of Jasmine Choi! It’s just wonderful to have a differences focus on this lovingly piece by Mendelsohn, thank you 🙏 for your beautiful load-bearing playing ❤
I love how you brought out different characteristics of flute music. Not just the sweet tone, especially in the piano in the higher octaves, but the stronger, slightly edgier forte parts here and there. Excellent work on showing the variety of the instrument.
Wow, I’ve heard it a million times on violin but to hear it this well done on the flute was really a treat this afternoon! Brava 💐
Not only a great flutist, but Miss Choi commands the stage with class and grace! She is a perfect example for others and one of Korea's great gifts to the world. I could listen to her playing for hours (and often do!).
내 기억이 맞다면 며칠 전
2021년 5월 27일 (목) 예술의 전당에서의 일이다.
나는 왼쪽 리싸이틀 홀에서 19시 30분에
조윤정 바이올린 독주회를 보고 Intermission 으로 나와서
홀을 잠시 서성였다.
아직 콘서트홀에서 연주가 진행 중이었다.
사람 여럿이서 콘서트홀 앞 공연 실황을 보더라
나도 뭔가 해서 봤다.
강남오케스트라 교향악단의 연주회 였는데
플룻을 엄청 잘 부는 사람이 빨간 드레스를 입고 너무나 돋보였다.
그래서 잠깐 보다가 끝까지 다 봤다.
그게 플루이스트 최나경 님이었던 것이다.

연주가 끝나고 사람들이 박수를 치더라
최나경 님이 너무 잘해서,,,
그래서 내가
예술의전당 오늘부터 ~ 내년 12월 까지 최나경님 플룻 독주회가 있는지 검색을 해봤는데
검색에 나오지 않았다.
그래서 다시 홈페이지를 들어가 봤더니
2020년에 국내 공연이 많았다... 아쉽다...
나는 언제 최나경님 플룻 독주회 연주회를 직관해볼 수 있을까...
일반인은 이렇게 저렇게 연주자를 알게 된다.
최나경 플룻은 마케팅으로 가공된 실력이 아니었다.
진짜 플룻을 엄청나게 잘 부는 음악인이 틀림이 없었다.
나는 언제 최나경 님을 직관하고 후기를 쓸 수 있게 될까...?
예술의 전당 거의 매일가는 한 괴짜 아저씨가 이렇게 댓글로라도 후기를 남겨 본다.
후기라고 하면 우연히 인터미션 중에
콘서트홀 밖에서 공연 실황 TV를 보면서 느낀 점을 이렇게 유튜브로 찾아와서 후기를 남겨 드리는 것이다.
나중에 최나경 님이 예술의전당 - 금호아트홀 - 세종문화회관 같은 곳에서 연주회를 열면
나는 무조건 찾아서 최나경님의 플룻 연주를 직관해보고 싶다.
최나경님의 수준은 인춘아트홀, 리싸이틀홀 같은 작은 공간의 수준이 이미 아닐 지도 모른다.
큰 공연장에서 더 많은 연주자들과 만나야 할 지도 모른다.
작은 음향 공간을 좋아하는 나이지만
그래도 콘서트홀도 좋다. 나는 최나경님을 꼭 직관 하고야 말 것이다.

Tengo casi 60 años de estar escuchando este concierto en interpretaciones de los grandes virtuosos desde esa época, Yehudi Menuhin, Ruggiero Ricci, Yasha Haifetz y hasta las lindas virtuosas de nuestros días.
Hoy, he descubierto esta magistral interpretación con adaptación y arreglos hechos por ella misma para su flauta traversa.
Angelical interpretación así como su semblante ante semejante desafió brillantemente culminado. Bendiciones.
I have been listening to this concert for almost 60 years in interpretations of the great virtuosos since that time, Yehudi Menuhin, Ruggiero Ricci, Yasha Haifetz and even the beautiful virtuosos of our days.
Today, I have discovered this masterful performance with adaptation and arrangements made by herself for her flute.
Angelic interpretation as well as his countenance before such a challenge brilliantly culminated. Blessings.

This rearranged virtuoso flute performance (never heard of flute masterpiece) is bring the good old memory of the most famous Kyung-wha Chung’s Mendelssohn violin concerto debut at BBC back in 1974. I cannot stop this flute sound ringing in my ears still now...

Dear Jasmine, Your Mendelssohn Violin Concerto just keeps getting better and better and this version is by far my favourite yet. To me, it seems even more intricate and detailed compared with the previous 2019 version (not sure if it has anything to do with removing the bridge), and you play every phrase with such clarity and musicality. Simply brilliant and what a joy to listen to! Bravissimo! Bravissimo! Bravissimo!

I only came discovered Jasmine Choi's playing recently and it reminds me of my lessons on the flute at 12 years old. I was taught by a Japanese lady teacher who reminded me of her. Jasmine has certainly revitalized my interest in the flute again after a long stint with James Galway and his Annie Song. I hope there will be a song synonymous with Jasmine if there isn't already one:)
