I found your video very useful. I used paper like on my 12.9 ipad pro, but did not manage to add it to the screen in the professional manner you expertly demonstrated. Wondered if the extra screen protector I was left with could be used on my surface studio 2 laptop. I now feel confident enough to give it a go. Also, I like your laid back approach. Super useful video and a big thanks.
Thank you for reviewing! There are so few things like this for the Surface Pro, I guess it’s pretty niche compared to the iPad. How has it held up after a month? My main concern getting one was reduced color accuracy and pen hiccups.
No worries at all..I haven't had any pen mishaps since in my time using it for notes. I haven't done much photo edits so I can t comment on that. The texture (though better than glass) isn't quite paper-like but it's not a bad way to start. I'll keep exploring options
@@teathomas I'm still using it! But I meant I'll see if there's other brands and give them a try too. I order 2 so I can try and then go to the one I like best. Currently it's this one
Excellent video! Thank you. Interesting comment about there being no “paper like” comment on the box. Amazon sell two versions of this protector and the description for the more expensive one does mention “paper like” but none of the product images mention that. My primary reason for buying this would be for the paperlike feel plus reducing the screen glare. Seems like this is worth getting?
I personally like it for the feel, but I think that the ones for other tablets are closer to 'paper' but also the tip of the surface pen is a bit rubbery too vs the rest. It cuts down reflections and make it more pleasant for me so I haven't looked back, but I suppose it depends on preference there?
@@RaffyHalim thanks for getting back to me. I saw this pretty negative review on Amazon: "Unfortunately it's quite horrible to use. The anti-glare coating is achieved by microscopic etching of the top layer of the glass. When this is done properly (e.g. on Apple's nano texture glass) it gives a smooth finish that still retains contrast. When it's done like it has been here, it results in a sandpaper-like texture that has a very noticeable hit on contrast. The first photo shows the difference when looking at the display with a light source directly overhead, and the second photo shows leftover skin cells from light use of the touchscreen." May I ask if you have seen a "very noticeable hit on contrast" or the screen looking dirty and marked with "left over skin cells"? I have noticed my iPad screen looking a little less fresh with its Paperlike protection but you can easily wipe it clean and that is more than made up for with the better writing feel it gives. I think you mentioned a possible reduction in sensitivity with the screen protection though queried whether that was due to the number of apps that were open and running in the background. I would really like to find a protector that improved the writing feel and cut down on glare without dulling the display too much. I am hopeful that this Adeway protection may be the answer. It's just sad that Paperlike don't do one of their excellent screen protectors for the Surface Pro. Thanks for your further comments if you have the time to respond. Needless to say, I have subscribed!
There is a little drop in contrast for sure but for my use case where I'm looking fairly straight on at the surface most of the time, I don't notice it that much and the reduction in ambient light reflection more than makes up for it. In terms of the "feel" there's definitely room for improvement - I've played around with the reMarkable series of tablets and they definitely "feel" better, but they're also an entire hardware product centred around paperlike feel, so hard for a screen protector overlay to match that. I do have 3 others now to test and will be doing that video next week when the new Surface arrives. But, if it helps, I've used the Adeway one now since instal. Still have a spare around but haven't been tempted to take it off. For me, the ease of application, "does what it says on the box"-ness and relative affordability makes it worth having it on.
@@RaffyHalim many thanks again for your response. I have Boox devices and the Kindle Scribe and of course the Surface Pro, even with screen protection, is never going to equal them in terms of paper-like feel. That’s understood. If the Adeway protection is as good as the Paperlike for my iPad that will be a big and worthwhile improvement. The iPad’s writing experience isn’t as good as an e-ink device but it is very much better than without the Paperlike cover. Interesting that you are going for the new SP11. Good look with that. I ordered one but then cancelled it as I realised that the non-OLED screen in my SP8 is good enough for me, as is its speed for my “light” if full day use of it and it’s only the battery life that isn’t great. Will wait to see what the reviews say about the SP11 in the coming weeks once they ship. Will also hold off buying the Adeway protection until I see your further reviews. I haven’t come across any SP protection on Amazon U.K. that says it offers paper-like feel other than the £18.49 Adeway one.
Looking to buy a Surface Pro 9 and came across this video. Great video btw, but would you recommend buying Surface Pro? I’m not sure what variant you have, but just curious if you would buy it again over something else. Nice job, Justin
I tried for a few years to go for a 2 in 1 and other brands, but kept coming back to the surface pro. Right now, nope wouldn't buy- surface pro 10 is mere weeks/maybe a month or so away. The business only update to surface pro 10 is already there. Consumer facing not far behind. So I'd wait unless it was very urgently needed RIGHT now
Have you found any issues with the eraser end of the pen gripping the screen protector when erasing? I got a photodon test one that is plastic and it's very uncomfortable to use the eraser because it gets stuck on the matte surface. Great video BTW.
It's a little 'stickier' than when just on glass, but haven't found it hugely annoying. That said I know I don't press down as hard. So for me, for the increased pen tactility, it's worth the slightly sticker eraser (makes it feel like those old school super flexible erasers from school days 🤣)
Hmm - I personally can't attest to Persian calligraphy, but so far I haven't had any jitter with the pen myself. Some others have commented that there was some after their installation, but my experience has only been good. Sorry I can't answer your specific question.
Purchased this with high hopes... ended up getting severe wobble on lines drawn that weren't vertical or horizontal. The only way to reduce the wobble on angles lines was to draw them extremely quickly. Ultimately this is a bitter disappointment for me.
thank you brother, I saw the other video on screen protector you recommended and this one seem to be the best one , so I am going with this one
I'm glad it was useful!

Awesome!
Here's a recent video on a couple of others: th-cam.com/video/mXNk8ko-ShI/w-d-xo.html
Did mine Monday with the Megoo brand. Glassy smooth. I think you may have yours upside down.
Don't think so- got the matte finish. All the cut outs line up perfectly on mine and it's only sticky one way
