    Most people give to goodwill to get rid of their stuff, it's not that deep. She is technically providing a service, she spends the time to look through stuff and drive to different stores and clean things up and make them presentable. Sometimes you are good at finding things other people don't see, but would want. I do this all the time and it's how I have so many name brand things, also rare finds from clothing to books to furniture.

    What judgmental people need to realize is that Goodwill IS a reseller itself. Everything they have is donated so if they really cared about poor people they’d distribute it to them instead of selling it and making a huge profit.

      Right. It’s a store trying to make profit, not a charity.

    Who is paying these exuberant prices for this stuff? And why?

    I understand we live in a capitalist country where drop-shopping and reselling thrifted clothes for a markup exists. It still doesn’t mean this isn’t unethical. Most people give to Goodwill so their used items can go to the less fortunate. The less fortunate rely on Goodwill for their clothing needs. Then there are people who are buying up all the nice items for a profit. Some children would be thrilled to have just 1 name brand piece of clothing. Yes, you are spending your time and gas to go and pick out these items, imo it still doesn’t justify this. At the end of the day, people will continue to do these things. It’s just very frustrating and makes me feel sad for the people that can’t find nice things at places like Goodwill anymore

      😂. Thrift stores have never been for poor people. They are businesses and they are for everyone. Goodwill is a for profit company masquerading as a charity. They have for profit websites where they sell donated items. I have a video where I show a pair of boots that sell brand new for $35, but Goodwill is trying to sell them for $80. By the way, having an opinion doesn’t mean that you can decide how others make a living just because you don’t like what they choose to do. You should stop judging others.

      @@Resellocity We are supposed to judge others. It’s how we call out bad behavior. If you don’t judge people, that means you just allow anything to to happen around you and you don’t do or say anything. Your reply is basically saying well everyone else does it (including Goodwill) so I’m doing it too. Again, doesn’t make it right. But whatever, people do immoral crap everyday. It is what it is

    • @Resellocity
      @Resellocity ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@callmeifyougetlost2079 apparently you were never taught anything. Religious people believe that only God can judge so no according to them, we’re not supposed to judge others. I don’t believe in any of that crap, but being nosey, or pretending that you’re better than someone else because of how they make money doesn’t make you better than they are. People are going to make money how they want no matter how much you whine about it. Resellers are not doing anything wrong or illegal. We’re pretty much just personal shoppers for people who can’t, or don’t have time to find the items themselves.

      Whatever the customer does with their purchase is irrelevant. That’s like saying “don’t buy something at a silent auction where proceeds go towards someone’s cancer bills because you intend on selling the item on eBay afterwards.” It’s irrelevant. We should ENCOURAGE others to buy sustainably, not discourage.

      If Goodwill was meant to be a place where those in need can get clothing then they wouldn't be charging people for stuff that they got for free. Donate your stuff to homeless shelters or women's shelters and cut out the middle man. But wait, that might be too hard and you wouldn't have a reason to virtue signal anymore.
