I don’t know if it is just me, but this is one of the hardest creature votes, because every creature is unique has so many awesome gimmicks that work so well with extinction and they all are such awesome creatures, real or in game, that’s just my opinion for this vote.
Yeah this one is hard!! Only one I don’t want is the spider but that’s just because I’m a spider hater. Two great sauropod options, some awesome fliers, and some mammals too! Great options
Great selection this time around. Extinction puts an huge emphasis on large size and tankiness, so I’m all in on Dreadnoughtus first, followed by Sauroposeidon and Hatzegopteryx.
I'd would say the same order for me next would be spider if it plans to still retain what it had for ab

The Gorgonops will be awesome to have, and really helpful for taming other animals.
Counting that it lived in the late Permian having to face the great dying, it fits perfectly on an posta apocalyptic earth!

Given sauropods likely had resonating chambers, and may have even been able to produce sounds almost like bird song, I love the idea of a musical sauropod. Probably my top pick because of how fun a concept it is with a great design. The Gorgonops is very cool too, some great ideas. And whilst I wasnt too interested in the jumping spider before, the new ideas make me far more interested in it. But the Aerosteon by pure mental and weirdness of the design is also a fine choice. Darwin too, a great creature with a great design. But, I think Saurop, Gorgon, Spider, Ozi, Darwin are my personal top picks. Fire edmontonia is wild tho

Sauroposeidon is by far the coolest in my opinion. Id love another big sauropod and the maneuverability combined with the fun taming and gameplay rythem mechanics would auctally make it a sauropod id use rather than all the outdated large sauropods. My obvious next choice would be dreadnoughtus but sauroposeidon seems more fun to me.
There's not many creatures that blend another genre in that's for sure!
Puts another use to the war drumbs and a reason to get one, unique, and imagine raiding someone blasting the king titan theme
I wish there was a way to give all of these submissions first place. This is such a wonderful lineup of creatures and it's a shame that only one can win. Maybe we'll see the others as mods one day.
If enough interest is shown then maybe some of them can be in Ark 2

I’m very surprised that the Thylacosmilus is part of a final vote. It’s such an interesting but obscure creature, and I’m glad it made it into the finals. I’m rooting for it, but I also like the two sauropods and the Hatzegopteryx. If I had to take a guess on what I think is gonna come out on top, I’d say the Dreadnoughtus, jumping spider, or Hatzeg have the best chances, but I guess we’ll find out eventually. Side note, it’s crazy how fast you get these videos out. The editing is great and the coverage is appreciated, nice work!
I wish it was fast haha, between writing, art editing and video editing I'm working on them for a few days. The Center was the quickest one and I still have no idea how, I think I was just incredibly focused because I'd had no power for the weekend and was in panic mode :|
I've got some hunches which I think might win but I've been surprised plenty of times so don't want to make a guess yet.
Dreadnoughtus, darwinopterus, or hatze are the most likely. The fluffy spider has gotten too stale, I’d honestly be shocked if it won at this point.

@@TyranntX First of all it’s 88 total carnivores and 61 tamable land and flying carnivores and 44 herbivores. Second, they’re are supposed to be twice to three times the amount of carnivores than herbivores on the arks. So we are technically at proper course for the Ark story, in fact we might need a few more carnivores.

@@TyranntX 72 with omnivores (there’s only 11 omnivores), not a substantial difference as your 200 you thought were in the game but because they are omnivores they also count for herbivores so that goes to 56 herbivores too and balanced back again to only a 16 creature difference. Plus there’s only 150 tamable creatures in Ark, it is no where near 200 carnivores. Even if I included non tamable, there is only 191 creatures total in Ark at this time, so it is impossible for there to be 200 carnivores in Ark alone.
I really like the subversion of expectations with some of the smaller creatures like Darwin and Ozimek this round! Both have interesting niches without having to be so reliant on being a big creature to win (plus I love their chaotic energy!)
Really hoping one of those two, or Walk the Dino-Sauroposeidon pulls through, BUT I think all the choices this round have their merits and interesting abilities. May the best creature win!

The dreadnaught would be perfect for extinction especially with a slightly corrupted/ element infused design. Tbh it is clearly the best for this vote especially on extinction. I just hope the community votes for something dumb again. Also fantastic job with the artwork it looks great

these beasts are all incredible i couldn't decide. the dancing sauropod, fire ankylosaurus, anit flyer? i swear modders and non industry employeee are better at making these creature than the devs themselves!!

I love how Ark Dev finally add unique tame method to all their vote creatures. Dreadnoughtus and Hatzegopteryx are definitely on top

Every creature here is honestly fantastic and I would love to see any of the win. I am ultimately gonna choose the Gorgonopsid cause it’s beyond time we got one of those in this game. My second and third choices would be Aerosteon and Sauroposeidon.
Go Gorgonops or Go Home!!!!! I do have to say though, I hope either the Jumper or the Anti Flyer get in if Gorgo doesn’t.
Darwin>Dread>Hatz>Aero>Maevia>sauro>edmontia>ozi>thyla>gorgon imo. Darwin looks awesome and ext lacks good native flyers and good+fun mobility mounts outside of manas so I want it for servers that aren’t in clusters to bring in wyvs and stuff. Dread seems like a cool powerhouse that fits extinction and is only one that looks like it could hold up very well in higher OSDs so it could be good alternative to the usual gigas or charcas, and hatz could be also decent for those and maybe for taming titans at least desert. Maevia was my 2nd for abb behind other spider for abb and I love it but doesn’t fit ext too well and not a fan of the changes to try to fit ext, but I still want it mainly for other maps and I’m not too big of a fan of the ones I put below it. Thyla and gorgon seem completely useless on ext’s main content and don’t do anything that’s really new
Man these creatures are so great, I really want to see these 4 in the game: Dreadnoughtus, Gorgonops, Hatzegopteryx and Edmontonia

Ark should take all the close calls that have appeared more than once in top 10’s and just make them (jumping spider, cheetah, gorgo, dread and especially the notho). Also just my thought so the Darwin isn’t just some old pterodon spice it up and make it look at little more like the Mountain Banshee from Avatar (maybe just alter the wings to resemble it so it doesn’t take to much away from the creators original vision) just my opinion of course. Darwin has my vote though followed by the Smilo and Gorgo. Ozimek is kinda cool though.
I'd like to see the devs add a couple of Wildcard (heh) selections at the end chosen from runners up, I think that would be a good solution to appease the fans of some of these.
Agreed, these creatures all have either gotten second or have Made it in almost every finale(except for the dread). We need a second wave of creatures for each map for only previous top tens or top twenty from all the maps.

The Ozimek is such a cool and unique creature, there is nothing else like it in the game and I'd really like to see it win
At this point, I think wildcard should and spider and gorgonops to the game because of how much they show up in the finals. (also with the Cheetah but that's not in this vote). It would be a lot more work, but they did it with the carchar
I've seen some conflicting comments on that I think, there was one that said they've discussed such a possibility internally, and one mentioning they have no plans to add creatures from outside the votes on the roadmap. I suspect with the Carchar it was either already on their list or it filled a convenient content drought.
We'll see though!
My top three would be the Darwin because that’s my favorite pterosaur in real like, 2nd would be the dreadnoughtus and 3rd the thyloscosmilus
This is a pretty good selection. I'm a big fan of non-dinosaurs so Ozimek, Gorgonops and the Jumper are my favourites but any would probably be very good

The struggle of either waiting for garuga gorgonops or just putting it in the game already.
Personal preference, but if there's a creature I like I'd always rather official than mods (for any game), for a couple of reasons.
- Mods are often not well balanced, from a PvE perspective we all play how we like but *personally* I like to think I beat it the way it was designed, on the devs terms kinda thing. So anything in official is fair game
- It keeps load times a bit lower
- This was brought up by someone else and has stuck with me, but it enables other mods to use it. It could appear on other maps, but also Overhauls like Primal Fear or similar could make use of the creature, but will VERY rarely integrate things from other mods.
Thanks for this breakdown! I really think the Ozimek fits perfectly and deserves to win! It’s a unique but believable tame versus most of the other options.

If the spider doesn't I hope we can have it on valguero maybe? I dont remember a vote there yet, but with there being a brood trench already on map that could make a cool reward for actually killing the mini bosses. You clear the trench, the spider can then be tamed perhaps. I think araeno allready spawn there so easy addition/swap. I really want it in game, I love small mobile creatures and that seems perfect to me. plus with the central river on that map has lots of areas it could jump across to avoid swimming, and the high cliffs and deep troughs of the white hills would be so much fun.
I'm afraid they've said this will be the Maevia's last entry, they were originally aiming for Valguero and one of the Genesis as well, but the community's been quite aggressive towards both the creature *and* the creator because of it being in multiple finals, so they've decided to pull out.
It's a shame, there's a lot of effort goes into these all of these submissions and I think it's extremely underappreciated.

The Gorgonops for “tracking” creatures and finding lvl 150s would probably be the most useful creature in the game, on the other hand having Maevia Eureka to be able to knock out dinosaurs and creatures with its tranq bola ability would be so nice to change up using the generic tranq arrows and tranq darts, and then the Dreadnoughtus is such an amazing sauropod with a lot uses with amazing abilities, for me Maevia Eureka, Gorgonops, and Dreadnoughtus are my top 3 in the vote but I’d be happy if any of those 3 took the win, trust me guys read the description, abilities, uses for pvp and pve, and artwork for them, they’re fire
as much as I want a huge sauropod, the darwin kinda seems like the best option.

Sauroposeidon has some awesome concepts with the rhythm system but Maevia Eureka is too cute and versatile for me not to want lol
Edit: edmontonia's flame and spark powder gimmick is cool but doesn't feel fitting for the creature itself imo, I'm all for lunastrankylosaurus tho

I have to thank you for that musical design, it gave me so much pun material to work with, too much perhaps, I peaked too early in the video haha.
I just want something fun like the rhythm sauropod or that spider they both seem enjoyable to either tame or use instead of the usual shoot it with a tranq arrow or feed it a berry and come back when it’s hungry
I think every submissions these days is trying to shake up the taming methods which is awesome, they're so much more engaging!
Extinction is my 3rd favourite map, and all of these options are so good!

Ooofff, that was difficult. My favorite map. Every creature fits well. My top 5 is:
5. Aerosteon. Cool dude, also the hide and seek idea is interesting.
4. Sauroposeidon. I. LOVE. MUSIC. AND I. LOVE. DINOS. Really, if I could give one place to 2 creatures, I definitely would, but Sauroposeidon got me less excited than number 3. That's the only reason.
3. Dreadnoughtus. OH, YEEEEAAAAHH, BEBE. A creature that will make ASA more addictive. He has a very interesting concept.
2. Darwinopterus. I love him. He looks good, he has good abilities and he has it's own charm.
1. Thylacosmilus Atrox. Amazing.

Darwin was my number 1, Maeva for 2, Edmontia for 3, Thylo for 4 and 5 I threw in the Dreadnoughtus. Once it's under 5 I don't usually care enough.
The cheetah would've made sense.. running at top speed across hot expanse ... jumping spider would be awesome !

I know people say "size matters on Extinction", but the only "big" tamable creatures are 3 mini-bosses and the mek. I can't really agree with that statement. Some of the larger creatures sound quite fun.
I was worried for Ragnorok that dreadnaughtus would just be a budget titanosaur, but I feel it fits better on Extinction. I also appreciate it doesn't make the mek useless, instead being a pure tank instead of an all-rounder.
Something to counter corrupted creatures is OK, but meks and packs of carcharos do the job well. I also just really don't like the idea of "flying giga" that hatz makes me think of. Kind of tired of the giga comparisons.
Edmontonia and thylacosmilus are 2 picks I really like, mostly on the creatures themselves. Thylacosmilus is a very strange and unique snimal while edmontonia is my favorite ankylosaurid. It's funny how even if edmontonia loses, Gauruga might just add it to Ark Additions anyway.
To be honest, I've never heard anyone say that, it just made for a good intro ;) Although Giga's are the most used tames for the map I believe.
Dreadnought was intended for Extinction if I recall, and submitted to Rag to give it an extra chance. Helped by the fact there isn't a titanosaur on Extinction I agree it's much more fitting here.
@freynlives I never really meant the direct quote, just the idea that bigger creatures are a big part of Extinction's gameplay, if that makes sense.
I definitely see why people want creatures like that. Just for me, those kinds of creatures usually aren't the most intriguing.
Ah haha, no problem :) I agree, I don't really care for the Giga, it's a bit boring... but Extinction is the one map it's probably worth taming, although one of these days I *will* kill the King Titan with Ankys (not attempted yet, but I've done about half the maps...)
Holy hell this is a good choice of tames.
I kind of want the Sauroposeidon, Dreadnaughtus, Darwinopterus and Hatzegopteryx to win, although it would be Awesome if we got the Hatze as an actual threat in the sky since right now its just corrupted pteranodons, (also the part where the Hatze would be able to grab flyers and force them to the ground is very cool, this has to be the best iteration of the Hatze in any vote) but come on, who wouldn’t want the Darwinopterus to win, even skipping over the abilities which will probably be nerfed, the creature is just awesome looking. Same with the dreadnaughtus, it just looks epic and the pattern is pretty interesting meaning it could be the only sauropod with a good pattern. Also its a permamant tame, just imagine breeding them and fighting the titans. The Sauroposeidon is probably my least favourite out of the good ones, mostly because if wildcard nerf the abilities we’ll be left with a pretty bland sauropod. Aerosteon is also pretty nice, but nothing too groundbreaking, especially on extinction where most medium and small tames are useless against titans.
This is often my thinking, I go in looking at abilities and can't decide, then end up picking based on "That looks cool!" ;)

My choice in this vote will probably be Darwinopterus at no.1, but i don’t really care who wins since all of them are cool.
I mean I'm still over here putting out a video on abilities haha ;) Partly because Wildcard are still being pretty consistent with their adaptions of late. But when I really can't decide (often) the visual design is a big help! Of course, they can change that too... (Yi-Ling says hi).
@@freynlives True, they have been rather consistent with making a 1:1 port of the creature, tho some abilities have to be removed since they are just way too strong. I would love it if they kept the winner’s special abilities in this one like they did with the Shastasaurus, even if they do alter the appearance a little. Extinction is already one of my favourite maps to play on and ASA is going to make it even better, so i’m pretty excited :)

to be honest since this is a whole new game and the creatures seem unique they should allow the top 5 to be added to extinction.
Unfortunately with how much they’re struggling to even get ASA done in time there’s no shot we’re getting more than 1 per map right now

I know we’re only supposed to look at the animal, but it seems like they all try to be the new meta PVP/PVE Dino. Which, in my opinion, kind of ruins it for me. Also, spider dude needs to give up, it would have worked on aberration, but only aberration
Re: Trying to be the new meta, I don't think *all* are, but as the votes progress I think we're definitely seeing top10's that are getting more and more wild. It's not the fault of the submitters, but the wider community. Simple things with one or two abilities rarely make it to the top, and it's started to become less of a fun thing and more of a serious competition, so designs are trying to get as much draw as they can. I'd love to see more early/mid game creatures myself but I think they're just being ignored :(

There is potential for some of the repeat finalists to get in, there's a statement from a wildcard employee saying they've considered the possibility at least. When/if that happens is unknown, but at minimum we know it's been discussed.

I appreciate that whenever the gorgonops returns it has a different twist behind its concept even if it's usually based around tracking things to some degree. I can't wait to put the spider at the bottom of the list though, sick of that thing showing up

Some submissions have a design they love, and try to choose maps they think it would work on. Others have a creature they love, and adjust the design to fit the map. I'm not sure which method I prefer, but both are clearly liked by the community.
I believe both have said it's their last entry regardless of result though.
@@freynlivesyes gorgon has definitely been in more, but it also has a long history with ark and it’s a different person submitting it each time. Like whoever submitted it this time had whole new unique art and everything , whereas the creator of the spider only bothered changing thing for this extinction vote because even fans of it complained that it’s concept didn’t change vote to vote. Gorgonops may have a similar theme around tracking, but each persons ideas of how this would work vary vote vote vote and that matters more to me personally
Still can’t wait for the spider to lose, bottom of my list for sure. Hoping for one of the big sauropods to win, would love more giant herbivores in the game that actually feel dangerous
