Please note spawn locations in the video are based entirely on my own experience at the time.
They SHOULD spawn in caves on both SE and The Island in addition to whats seen here.
The spider is supposed to be on the island as well, as far as I know. It's been reported on Cyrus' discord, so I'm sure it will be addressed soon. Great video, as always! Dunno why you haven't blown up on YT, your videos are fire.
These things take time, and not everyone does blow up, one day hopefully!
Although my topic choices and slow production probably don't help hehe. I'm just glad that the videos are enjoyed by those who do find them

Learning how to use the algorithm is a skill all on its own hehe. These aren't my best content imo, but good or bad doesn't matter if no one finds it, that's the first obstacle :D

Found one on the island in one of the caves upper right north/ north east. Cant mind the name of the cave atm

Hands down, every true aberration enjoyer voted both spiders of the vote in 1. and 2.
Who wants a gliding duck when you can leap with a fluffy spider, or hypnotise other creatures with the nightmare spider?
this spider was the best animal for aberration, its a cave after all. why was a raptor that hunts in the jungle/plains on a cavers map?
This is definitely how I picture an Araneo if it ever got a TLC, being able to climb walls just like that and the jump is also a nice addition
IMO, an Araneo TLC shouldn't function like a jumping spider. I'd say the Araneo should lean more into web spinning. It should be an exceptional tool for slowing down creatures and blocking off passage. Some use case examples:
You should be able to make slowing zones on the ground with web.
You should be able to make doors harder to operate, causing it to take a few seconds to open or close.
You should be able to assign an Araneo to a gateway without a door, it will then make its web in said gateway, effectively blocking it off and making it a wall.
Perhaps you could even temporarily wall off areas manually, it'd be set up sort of like a zipline, albeit with much less distance.
It should obviously also have the climbing mechanic, making it a good early/mid-game movement tame. It may also be cool if the Araneo had a limited pool of more potent venom that can be used separately.
@@trainershade1937 You make a good point. This makes me want to exclude the jump mechanic, leaving that to the jumping spider, and just make the Araneo climb walls/ceilings though your web idea and use of venom does sound very interesting
The creature that SHOULD have won the aberration vote. Or literally ANYTHING other than that stupid rock drake part 2 but weaker. I’ll never NOT be salty about that vote
Facts. Like i feel bad for the dude that made it but come on man you cant tell me the creature that fit abberation the least won. It had to of been rigged. The giant alien spider thing or the maev shouldve won
You ain't kidding. Id bet the votes where rigged by the devs so they could get whatever critter they wanted out without having to use any creativity and making there own critter.

I tbh have some arachnophobia. Not enough to hate them or kill them on site but enough to make me dislike and not want to be near the really spider looking ones like huntsman. Other arachnids dont faze me as much for some reason. But i still think spiders are awesome. Now HOUSE CENTIPEDES tho THOSE THINGS CAN GO BACK TOO THE CORNER OF HELL FROM WHERE THEY CAME@RedRumRose106

I'd like to see how this thing does raiding the wyvern trench.
You can find them on the island jumper spider spawn in caves on the walls
wonder if you can charge the jump midair, so that you can immediatly jump again?
i have several suggestions I believe can be beneficial to this mod:
- same xray vision as snow owl
- cross hair and, if possible, a lock on target mechanic since jumping spiders use their eyes as a natural aimbot
-natural ghillie; wild animals will not aggro on the spider unless provoked. makes taming and caving convenient
- an alt poison attack that does gradually increasing poison tick damage, but doesn't stack. If not damage, then the poison can at least slow or inflict passive torpor. The jumping spider should be able to finish small creatures at the very least, but 41 damage a bite isn't gonna cut it. This addition makes the jumping spider more of an assassin than a scout. The poison should also have a long duration. If the spider had to constantly jump in and out of combat to apply poison, then that defeats the whole purpose of my suggestion.
I also find the passive taming weird. Jumping spiders are extremely perceptive to movement so its weird that it would just ignore you, even if you're wearing ghillie and a shield. Instead, you could drop food, back away, turn around so you aren't looking at the spider, and wait for the jumping spider to lower its guard and grab the food. Rinse and repeat.
From what i heard is they share spawns where megalina and mantis spawns

God I wish the cowboy gear looked this good on the female model! But thanks for this, I had no idea he'd split the mods (I was waiting for an .ini to disable geckos) so this is great :) Can't wait to try it out! Nice comprehensive video, appreciated.
I've not noticed anything too bad with the female cowboy gear? I'm using the Drifter set with an outlaw hat, if that helps (dyed of course).

If this was to come to official I'd rather it was smaller and a shoulder pet. Be great if it could jump and take out microraptors as they were circling you. There's no way I would use this as a mount.
An anti-Micro shoulder pet would be a godsend on Scorched!
For me, one of them spawned in a cave on the island. I wasn’t able to get to it (due to it being deep in the cave and I was early game)
Playing on xbox had the mod on for a week now the items are sjowing but i cant find a single spider
Would totally invest in this mod if I went back to playing Ark

Surely they must spawn on the island considering that mod spotlight vid had them jumping though the red wood forest
I can't say 100% that they don't because I don't have access to the mod code or anything, but yeah after 15 map resets (both dino wipes and complete delete/regeneration) none ever appeared. I was really hoping I'd find one there too, wanted to break up the Scorched content a little :(
Perhaps I'm just incredibly unlucky. If you try the mod and find one please let me know!
@@freynlives I've never played asa but from what I've heard single player can be a bit odd with mods like with the Gigantoraptor apparently on single player sometimes can only have 1 nest spawned in at any time but I'm not sure how true that is
@@sonicplague3643 I think there's definitely some bugs in there yea. The first time I tried the Gigantoraptor all my nests were in the east, and for this all my spiders were in the south. I usually give it a lot of wipes/resets to double check, I hoped that after 15 something would've appeared :(
@@freynlives did you check the island's Caves? Maybe they spawn in or around caves on the island it wouldn't be too far fetched for that to be the case as it seems to spawn where Arthros spawn which in SE is the dunes (note I've never played SE not even in ASE so they may spawn in other places besides the dunes)
@@sonicplague3643Yep, they spawn in caves. So far I've only found it in places where Megalania can spawn.
I’m having trouble finding these guys on the island anyone know what cave is best?
Really wish this was in official, my favorite spider by far.
The spider can spawn on The Island too, so far I've only found it in caves but its spawn rate seems pretty low, a bit like Megalania.
Oh and she also makes silk, which she releases onto the ground though.
I tried checking them a few times but never saw any :( The listdinos command should still count them even in caves but I'll have another look! Megalosaurus are meant to be in caves too but I've only ever seen 1 in my entire time in ASA Island, I have a feeling the spawns in SP are just a mess in general :/
@@freynlives i think creatures in caves have a proximity spawn trigger so they might not be in the game when you listdinos?
It is a thing. I started the video because i like jumping spiders. I left it playing in the background for the voice describing it. A slow Roo but has too many eyes and doesnt display unless mating. I would like one but i doubt i would use it.
They're in caves on the Island. Only places I've found any are in the Lower-South, Lava, and (very rarely) in the Swamp Cave (which doesn't matter since you can't tame out of this cave) so far. Keep an eye on and around ceilings, since that's where they like to spawn. Most have bright colors, so they tend to stick out. The Lower-South Cave has been consistent for me.
Please note that these are from a limited number of initial tests, but I have checked every cave on the Island.
Also, it's listed as a "Thorax Spider" instead of a "Jumping Spider" for some reason. The Spiders also seem to poo 'Silk', similar in the same way that Achatina poo Paste.
And the Gecko tail doesn't seem to work except as a distraction if they are aggro'ed.

when you say "Lower South", do you mean the cave in the jungle near South Zone 2? rlly hoping

@@charliepastore Artifact of the Hunter Cave. Coords 85.2, 54.2 on the Island.
Every time I've gone in the cave, I've found 4 or 5 minimum. Mostly on the ceiling, but nothing a grapple hook doesn't fix. If they're on the ground, best bet is to draw aggro from the other creatures and take them out first, since the Thorax Spider won't attack if you have the iridescent shield equipped.
It does a ton of torpor with it's bite
They are on the island I found mine in the artifact cave in the Redwood forest
Where do you make shield. Cant see it in smithy. And where do you get insects
Since they're adding ark additions creatures they should try and collaborate with Cyrus and get it into the base game
What do they eat. On single player and havent played since they keep losing food but not eating anything!!

Amissa Map spawns are 72.4 - 68.2
1:10 They wyvern trench is a great place to tame stuff wym? I tame stuff there all the time, best place to find a high level mantis and arthros
Where do we get smashed insects and cant see shield in smithy
You can learn them the insects are pretty early and i think the shield is at level 58 or something
sadly the lack of a saddle mean this is NOT a caving tame sad though considering how good this guy would be in a cave.
They are adding saddles tommorow I think

This is SO not for me XD But it's successfully creepy, and in a way, that's a compliment XD
Something I'd love for you to specify with these mod spotlights, if at all possible, is whether the mod is premium or not. For this one I knew because of yesterday's Community Crunch, but sometimes your video is where I first hear about a mod, so it'd be just nice to have this information clearly stated in the beginning :)
I'm not sure if I'll dip into premium mods, while I think potentially they're the ones that NEED the coverage the most (see what its like before you buy), I just don't think the interest is there for most. If I do ever play one, I'll certainly mention it!
@@freynlives I just meant that I'd appreciate if you could give an indication, not that you have to discuss premium mods :) Just as part of its presentation the same way you name the mod dev. To me it feels like assuming that if you don't mention its status, then it means that it's free, can be a confusing convention.
But it was just a suggestion anyway, you of course decide what you put in your videos !

The baboons used a completely different climbing to all the rest, not sure why, assuming it's to do with wanting to keep them vertical or something... but it was awful yea, the other climbers are all so much better!
so, if this climbing ability for creatures is in the game, why is there no parkour mods out for player characters? serious question
There's climbing picks in Aberration but honestly that's a good question. Maybe someone can mod climbing without picks, and picks just use much less stamina? Conan Exiles does climbing very well, and I always miss it in Ark.

Technically yes, but I wouldn’t stick your noodle in it
I like it but a minor complaint I have is it sharing spawns with mantis and megalania. If it's going to take mantis spawns, than it should give organic poly. Plus taking up megalania spawns also is an issue when trying to get venom for boss fights but more importantly for me, trying to get venom for monolophosaurus on scorched. It was already difficult with the lack of consistent megalania spawns already

I'll admit this mod is incredibly well done, but unfortunately i'm cripplingly afraid of spiders, so I'll have to pass on this one!
I'm a bit arachnophobic myself, usually depending on size. Something with a leg span of half an inch no problem... bigger and I want it gone, those australian ones? I can't even look at it.
HOWEVER... spiders in games have rarely been an issue for me, like the Araneo isn't a problem in the slightest. This one I'm fine with and I think it's largely because of the proportions, the short stubby legs help.
Just one thing, why aren’t they attacking you, jumping spiders are hunters, and at that size they should be apex hunters ? They are too soft compared to the real thing.
