Holzfforma G372 Problems and Carb Tune Issues

- Here I put the Holzfforma g372XP to use for a few tanks. It is a Pain! Wont tune and wanted to blow up. Trouble tuning and madness all day.

Before you spend money make sure the carb is tight on the saw, sometimes the screws vibrate loose

Yeah it's def a crap shoot on these AM carbs. Most consistent ones I've found that will hold a tune are Nimtek from the jungle website. Failing that you'd have to spend the money and go Walbro HD-12

It’s blue so it’s a pre built.. They need a real real good going over. I bought the same blue g372 3years ago and the first week it ran great but then started acting funny like an air leak. I did a pressure test on it and found a pin hole in the crank case behind the flywheel. The paint is what was keeping the crank case sealed for the first week. I ended up putting JB Weld over it and it’s been out with a logger ever since. He’s had to change some parts here and there but other wise it’s still kickin. They can Be fantastic saws they just need a good going over.
That seems to be what’s going on with mine. Thanks for the tip! I may dig back in so it isn’t a total waste of money
@@Man-Time yeah it was just a casting flaw. Instead of change a case half I just opted for some JB Weld lol. The prebuilt saws definitely benefit from a pressure test. Fastest easiest way to rule out an air leak
Lol, I think I know whats wrong with your saw dude. Try loosening the gas cap and see if it quits acting up. I ended up taking my gas tank off and drilling a hole with a wire drill through the brass vent on mine. I actually forgot I had to do that until just now listening to your saw. Its an aggravating problem to find.
Nope. Next guess? Lol. It’s not simple or easy fix. I’ve done all that plus the harder stuff. Appreciate your input but this saw has sucked the last hour of my life from me. Not messing with it anymore
@@Man-Time Yea I take that back. Got my saw out the other day and it was acting up. Wouldn't hold a tune seen everything from 12500 to 14700 without touching the screws. Bought a $17 carb off amazon( motoall hd-12 hd6). So far it has been dead steady. Even came set. I fiddles with the screws to be sure but it was perfect out of the box. Also watch a video on Dubbs saw shop, his carb was acting just like yours. He used a farmertec chinese walbro hd carb to replace his and it worked. Aaron Lynch used a hipa carb to replace his and it worked.
Problem is it’s Chinese 🇨🇳 buddy 😂
My problem is I still want to “fix” it
