Gluto almost pulled off a legendary win. Probably the only player who can make super hard matchups doable. He was one hit away here, beat Ken before (Sonix will be tougher for sure) and wasn't too ridiculous against Miya some weeks ago. No matter what you think about Wario and waft being broken (it's really not), dude is absolutely incredible and arguably top 5 in the world in my book.
Also yeah Steve is cringe, but there are hopes we can beat him (see Spargo and Sonix).

Don't worry, he will leave at the beginning of 2024 for Japan for 1 month to participate in big tournaments there. As he had already done when leaving for Mexico. And when he comes back, mouths will tremble.

@@Hags_95 Spargo didn't play that much with Gluto during this travel (gluto didn't even play that much as he got sick). Gluto mostly played with MKLeo and a Sheik main whose name I don't remember.

Acola HAS skill but the fact that he is able to brainlessly spam back air like that is so annoying
agreed, before steve came out he never even made top 8 at a notable supermajor, now he wins or gets into grand finals at almost every one thanks to steve, he should've had more trouble getting to the top but steve boosted his success more quickly

@@seppv.8937you can't compare being top ranked online with Luigi to becoming top 1 in under half the time it took the best of the best to get to where they are offline. I personally don't think THIS argument makes any sense.

Having some of the best neutral tools in the game, THE best combo game in the entire game while being relatively easy too and still having good damage in raw hit situations and still being relatively heavy (all of this not mentioning block which breaks the game obviously)

Having no good move to contest high minecarts and anvils outside of bike really sucks. Up air and up b don't even cover his hurtbox. Must also be scary on the other end to deal with Wario's air mobility when your own base stats are terrible.

Once again it was a tough bracket to support EU players. Tarik was eliminated by Gluto, and both Bloom and Gluto were eliminated by the current world #1...which Gluto had to face twice this event.
Steve is #1, Sonic is #2 and they are the two characters with the strongest kit for camping... also in this tournament they are the only two character with multiple representatives. I hope the meta isn't going to continue like this

C'est le match le plus frustrant que je n'ai jamais regardé. Je le compare à ces moments dans les films où une personne sans défense est passé à tabac.
Ce n'est pas du tout la même chose, et pourtant je ressens le même sentiment d'injustice en regardant ce match. En particulier vis-à-vis du diamant...
acola joue bien, mais ce n'est pas normal de spam des options de façon aussi safe sans problème, de rattraper 60% de différence en une ouverture, d'être aussi lourd alors qu'on donne à Sephiroth le poids de Pikachu (spoiler: avec le poids de Cloud il ne serait clairement pas du niveau de Steve), de quasi toujours tuer à 100-110 face à des joueurs aux di parfaites le plus souvent...
Bref, je salue Gluto de ne pas s'énerver et toujours rester respectueux 👏

IF a character is known to have a glitch that can take an opponent's stock with no counterplay the character should not be allowed to play in Tournaments with money on the line. 18:05
That wasn't a glitch. That was an example of Wario's hitboxes being so bad that most of his combos aren't true. Acola simply mashed downair and it worked, he didn't do any glitch.
@@legrandliseurtri7495warios back airs hit like a truck!! He has so many moves that go through everything and invalidate others. His bike lets him get on stage for free, lots of multi hits. Kurama didn’t stand a chance!! Wario’s basically Mario but better. That’s why I’m glad gluto lost here.
If all the best players had to change their main then Acola would have the most obvious decline. Steve cloaks frauds.
They’ll have to put time into Steve as Acola has mastered the character. I can understand that Acola isn’t skilled enough to be #1, he’s probably a top 10 player in skill but if you think that if Sparg0 randomly picked up Steve that he would beat Acola is just not true.

Ban Ken, Sonix is an amazing and aggressive Sonic and he succeeds more, Steve I can agree to though. I play at tournaments and I really don’t think Steve is that bad offline, he’s just way too fucking boring to play and watch

Not really. Steve's neutral is mostly zoning which wario can push back against. Wario would struggle the most with swordies and disjointed range characters that totally outclass his poor neutral game. That's why its important for Gluto to get a secondary but you know we gotta appreciate that he has been loyal to his character for over 15 years.
@@ragames7320 If you can’t deal with walls or minecart, you automatically lose the Steve mu. Wario has no good tools for dealing with walls and there’s nothing he can do against minecart beside get lucky to hit Steve. Wario is stubby and has no disjoints, plus he has to approach. This is everything Steve wants. And I know Gluto thinks this mu might be his worst. But who do you think is a worse mu for wario.
I think sonic is much worse but yeah this def bad for wario. Though this was a very close set.

Yeah
He was funny when he was first introduced, never thought for the life of me Steve would ge in smash. But after all this time the humor has worn off and what we're left with is the most boring and dominant character in the game. He can just slow the game down to literally just play Minecraft, and can make himself completely safe while doing so. He has so many busted things that have been discussed numerous times already, but the real thing that makes me, and I'm sure most other people hate this character is that he just is the antithesis of smash. We ban stages with walls and ceilings, yet Steve can just make walls and ceilings, he slows the game down to do his own thing and not too many characters can do anything about it, so many of his options have very high reward yet very little risk. The list goes on, but I'm tired of this character man
The character Steve in smash is just like Minecraft
It was fun at first, then got boring and at this point it is only supported by fans who seem to be blind to the flaws, or just decide to ignore them, flaws that aint being fixed cuz devs seem to have abandoned the game already or put little to no work
@@doodoo2065 Couldn't have said it better, I think Steve is a novel idea in a platform fighter, and is in a casual setting is probably a great addition overall. Competively, Steve would've been fine as a mid tier with a unique playstle. But as not just a top tier, but the best character in the game all the novelty about him has worn off

Steve can create kill situations out of thin air where one mistake gets half of your stock beaten off you with a silly little jab jab jab jab backair or minecart into backair into stockloss.
Minecart, Anvil and backair are spammable tools that take 0 risk to use and y'all Steve defenders want to compare it with a one use high risk high reward move?
One character plays a completely different game and forces the opponent to basically never do anything wrong ever or you'll meet a anticlimatic death and the other is a fast paced grabbler with a risky comeback mechanic that is building up tension btween both parties all match.
Really don't know why more people enjoy watching Gluto play over Acola, Onin or Miya on his secondary 😂.
The difference between having one or two wafts a game and having to work for it vs. Steve having the chance to do it to you every single stock and having it come about easily and naturally thanks to the overall power of his options/tools.

You cant even compare it to kazuya cuz at least Kazuya requires you to land an EWGF as the first hit to start it (which is still strong, but imagine him being able to do so with any hit)
Steve can make any hit become a busted combo, and uptilt being one of the worst offenders
So yeah, stop acting as if steve isnt top1 tier
