Para mi, ambos son geniales... ESO DEFINITIVAMENTE NO ERA UNA PELEA FÁCIL PARA ACOLA Y SE NOTABA. Pero eso es lo que Acola necesita y también Gluttony, combates "raros". Being the only character that can effectively alter the stage layout is definitely triggering, it's like that one guy with cheats enabled except they made it legit.
He is a middleweight actually, but that is still too heavy for a character as broken as him, even Brawl MK and Smash 4 Bayo had the weakness of being super lightweight!
the more data gluto gets, the closer he comes to victory. Acola will lose to him, and Acola is afraid of him as he lost many games to Gluto in friendlies. At Summit 6 he was asked who of the competitors in top 8 would give him the hardest time. He said Gluto. Go figure why
@@ohjonny95 Summit 6 was a while ago though, not much has changed in bracket between Acola and Gluto. If after all this time Acola keeps coming off the top everytime VS Gluto then it's clear that the outcome is never going to change. Why, because of Steve.
Acola is great at utilizing Steve's moveset. However, the way his playstyle revolves heavily around anvil and minecart makes him easier to predict. It's a shame there is such a high risk when engaging those moves, however it was really cool to see Gluttony manage to play around them many times.
No, is not that simple... XD Acola SUFFERED HERE and IT SHOWS. Gluttony played too well and left the game very close between the two. Respect for both Acola and Gluttony. steve in last hit scenario is so unfair. denies gluto's grounded options with blocks then discourages aerial approaches with back air. rinse and repeat until opponent gets too desperate and runs into a kill option because it was the only way in
You know there's a way out of this 🤣🤣. Let's be real, you didn't study these positions and the following interactions long enough to even form a truly educated opinion on the matter.
Blocks are a double edge sword for Steve if you know how to use your characters kit to influence Steve or take advantage of his block placement like GLUTO DID BY TECHING OFF OF NEARLY BROKEN IRON BLOCK. Fact is Steve is only overwhelming if you lack the mental capacity, fortitude, and stamina to deal with him. And that's only if the guy playing him is a master pilot with a deep understanding of fundies. Our community literally accepts that playing wario is like playing a stock down. The best Pikachu player who is also the most aggressive had to run from him to win because wario's movement and frame data is too much for Pikachu?! And that's probably the lowest character in the tier list of characters that Steve has to plan around. How about Pikachu?! No way in hell can ACOLA HIMSELF mine with my pika on the stage. Hell he's combo food for both my Pikachu and my Link.
@@s3eriousbl9ck26I'm sorry but have you watched the match. Yes blocks do have a downside and that's that Wario Can tech of them, but so Can Steve, and on top of that Steve Can replenish his materials to get more anvils and Minecraft and blocks and wait for Wario to throw out an option. Camping does have a single downside but it's way more advantageous for Steve to camp
Prop to Gluto, being even with a counter like G&W, then showing some good stuff against an even worse counter, never blaming the player even tho he has been advocating for a Steve ban. Dude is just playing to get better and it works.
It feels like Gluto is playing near perfectly everytime he fights Acola. I really want him to beat him one day At least it was hype to watch, compared to something like Gluto vs Sonix
Look, Acola could be a really nice guy and he's even a great player. Better than me, that's for sure. But if you honestly think that this guy isn't carried by Steve then you're being ridiculous
It’s true. As a player he lacks the adaptability that most players have, he just doesn’t need to, and that’s due to using Steve’s overwhelming brokenness and seeing constant success. He can just execute a series of broken moves over and over and eventually pull off wins. Whether that’s 0-death strings into an up smash when the opponent blinks, gimps with broken interactions with his broken tools, living out stocks due to his weight and ability to setup a pillar and not get flung.. the list goes on. He hasn’t been able to compete at a super high level with other characters, he’s missing the key element of players which I find most entertaining about watching these high level matches and that’s the adaptations
@@walkerscoral I find comments like this hilarious. Especially when Acola is known for his insane adaptation. And he's done fine. And he does pretty well with several of his other pics. The ones they don't work out on are literally top of the top players, and even then he adapts well to them.
I'm tired of these comments. Every top player is carried by their characters, where would Gluto be without wafts? Light without Fox? If Steve carries so hard why isn't everyone using it? Doesn't every pro player wanna win? Why is there only a single Steve having success at top level?
@CrowbornChaos If his adaptation is so insane, then why do all of his characters that aren't Steve get rolled by other top playere? Winning against some random person in pools is not a valid argument. Every time he uses Kazuya or Aegis or DK against a top player he gets steamrolled. Sure there are a couple times he pulled off a win but the exception doesn't make the rule. Do you honestly think his Aegis or Kazuya would do as well against players like Gluto or Webb? Don't be ridiculous
@Pakitorocker Yeah Waft is good and Fox is good but are you really trying to put them on the same level as Steve? You're trying to defend a character that literally breaks the game. Also, Gluto has been playing Wario since Brawl and Light has been playing Fox since early Smash 4 while Acola didn't come into prominence until after Steve released. Make that make sense. And furthermore, it isn't JUST Acola that gets results with Steve. Onin? Jake? DDee? Even Dabuz and Peanut are dropping their mains to pick up Steve. Just because there is only one particular player that's always in grand finals doesn't mean the character is not busted. Palutena and Rob are overtuned but Zomba is the only player who takes Rob to the top level. Same with Sonic, Game and Watch, Aegis, Joker, Roy, Peach, Cloud, and pretty much any other top tier character. Start using critical thinking
So basically as Steve you can do the same thing over and over again and never get punished cuz you either hide behind walls or big ass hitboxes that are too risky to approach. Not denying that Acola is a good player, but he definitely wouldn't be number 1 if he wasn't carried by Steve. Imo on that set Glutonny's gameplay was great, he deserved to win
The more I watch Acola, the less I like him… just feels like he gets out played by so many opponents, yet pulls through because of Steve… he doesn’t have to be as precise, can afford to make so many mistakes and still win… Gluto keeps getting scammed by this guy, sad to watch…
I think people would really take a liking to him if Steve didn’t exist. It’s clear he’s a good player imo but there’s nothing wrong about what you said.
I stopped watching smash for like 6 months and watching Steve just pisses me right off again. Death percentage, smash attack range, and flying distance from cart all should be lowered for this damn character.
Watching bair loops and same waft combo to steal stocks at 10% is way more borring than Acola gameplay to be fair. But i agree that the French monster was way more precise than Acola, you are right on this point.

For the longest ive been tryna be light on Acola b/c of how he plays and, i give up. Im trying to see the aggressive and the only way he approaches is if he builds over his opponent or builds a wall baiting his opponent. Its boring, im sorry. The only thing cool was him parrying waft.
He didn't parry Waft on purpose. He was just trying to shield and got lucky. I main Marth and people "parry" my shield breaker all the time on accident when they actually should get a broken shield.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 Nah, he was just shielding quickly. I parry by accident all the time. I never correct my opponent when they say nice parry though. Mind games. Getting really fucking old watching these sets with the best player losing to someone who's playing the most broken character. Ban Steve. Cart and Anvil so fucking broken like everything else about him, including weight. Steve is the new Bayo
Gluto is def top 5 rn but I wouldn’t call him the best player. He lacks the amount of major wins that the four horsemen have, with only one under his belt
Maybe I am just crazy, but people/tournaments banning Steve is so stupid when there is only one top player (like top, top) that plays the character. Reminds me of the puff ledge grab limit in melee which was, for all intensive purposes, a nerf on Hbox. Banning Steve is just banning Acola. And he is clearly insane with the character, so much so he has everyone convinced the character is unbeatable. Don't get me wrong, Steve is most certainly the best character in the game by some distance, but until we have Steve vs Steve grand finals regularly (think Meta Knight brawl and Bayonetta near the end of Smash 4) then banning the character seems ridiculous to me.
You've got a pretty flawed mindset there, sure there's only one top top player using the character, but is that really the ONLY criteria? What about the competitive scene at lower levels that have tons of Steve's running rampant? The issue with the character is he's not healthy for the game. People who defend the character are either braindead or too egotistical
@@joecool4872 I am not talking about the lower level tournaments though, and, to be fair, I should have made that more clear. Strictly talking about majors and super majors (and I suppose larger regionals). If the lower level Steve epidemic is as bad as you say then sure: ban him at lower levels. For the record, I am neither confirming or denying that this is the case, I really do not know. And yes: I do think it is a very important criteria that there be multiple dominant players. If not, how can you say it is the character and not the player? You could argue that Acola playing as another character would not be winning tournaments like he does, but that would be a flawed argument because the same could be said about many top players (ie. Gluttony without Wario). And again, I would point to Hbox. Can you imagine if the melee community banned Jigglypuff when Hungrybox was at the height of his power? It would have been a little ridiculous. Now, to give credit to people like you who want Steve banned, it should be noted that a character can have moves/mechanics that are broken in a vacuum, and Steve does. But I don't know, until other people can effectively exploit them, it feels like a wider Steve ban is just punishing Acola for being the best player with the best character. And while I appreciate your discourse being mostly civil, I wonder then: am I brain-dead or arrogant or both? And if it helps you narrow it down any, I should say that I am not a Steve main and I do not play at an extremely competitive level, and so I have nothing to gain from Steve being kept unbanned and I would never claim that I am too good to lose to Steve players.
@@linkjmc5683 Banning a character at one level and not another doesn't make much sense, especially given at what line do you draw that line? Banning him strictly at locals doesn't do much to solve the issue that is Steve. I don't think we can only look at a single skill level or group to make a decision, you have to look at the whole picture. For competitive Smash to work as a spectator sport in which people can make actually good money off winning you need to consider players at all levels as well as spectators, and the issue is that Steve does not create a healthy competitive game for any of them. Part of the reason we only see one top level player use Steve is because most other players don't like using him despite him being very much the best character in the game. His mechanics break the game on a fundamental level, he has many over tuned and busted options that allows him lose interactions yet still come out on top or just be completely safe while mining, and he forces the other player to play a completely different game for extended periods of time that bores both the player and spectators. I personally am never a strong believer of banning characters in most cases, yet Nintendo is never going to nerf him and he is a genuine problem for the competitive scene, and if you can't see that I don't think you fully understand the game beyond the surface level
cant believe people wanna ban steve...if acola is not allowed to play this character we are losing one of the world's highest level competitors. like it or not he pushes the meta forward.

I still don't think steve is that broken. I think its that whenever the audience sees a frusturating matchup with two really good players like these folks, they blame it on the character which is not ok.
Raah dude, when you can build your own stage on the stage and stop your fall, or block the access to the stage with blocks that's not fair in my opinion :/ But I respect yours also !
Blaming the character to undermine Acola's performance is not fine, Acola is great. But saying Steve is broken is just a fact. So many top players have been saying this, Steve just has too many options, too many favorable situations, way too much control in neutral, way too safe options in terms of risk rewards. Gluto described it like this : "some characters you just have to play against them to understand how to counter them, for instance, people thought Roy was broken but we just did not know how to counter him. Steve, we know how to play against him, but we just can't. Even if he tells you his next moves, you are likely to lose the interaction". There is not a single world in which Steve is not absolutely broken.
People says Acola is carried by Steve but watch the result. Steve is alone every time. (Sometimes Onin here) Accurately saying, Steve is carried by Acola.

Either simplify the MU or master your piloting to move effortlessly. You know, similar to Acola. The shit he does takes thought because the wrong move can be a long disadvantage state and heavy damage or even a stock like the string/combo gluto pulled off right after taking his stock. Even with that happening you still think Steve needs a ban?!
listen guys, I need to make some points here. First off, there’s never gonna be a universal Steve ban because A. the most technical are by far Acola and Miya (both of their Steves get checked by swordies despite the two players being cracked), along with Miya opting for game and watch in many matchups, B. when there are supermajors in various regions, we don’t see many Steve mains crack top 32 most of the damn time, and C. the two best Steves don’t use any broken or banworthy tech like PMLG. Bans aren’t gonna do jackshit y’all, just enjoy the game. It’s not like Steve has frame 2 moves or consistent ceiling combos to the top blastzone unlike Brawl Meta Knight or Sm4sh’s Bayonetta respectively. There are ways around minecart and Steve’s mediocre speed and range, I’m sure there are more ways to play patiently and make the Steves have to stop camping and use their tools more with risk if you play correctly. Sure LMBM 2024 banned Steve, but even if Steve wasn’t banned there, we wouldn’t see more than two Steve mains in top 64. So there’s counterplay to the character, as ultimate’s meta is evolving. It’s just player vs. player stuff. No character is perfect in this game unlike in sm4sh or ssb64 pikachu. Steve doesn’t need a ban as banning him won’t help players with maneuvering and patient gameplay, which is what Steve encourages. Learn the matchups and that these Steve mains are NOT and will NEVER be carried by this character.
@@nolangorenmail Dog i'm sorry, but so much of what you said is just wrong. The issue is Steve isn't healthy for the game, plain and simple. He has counterplay, sure, but that counterplay is boring to watch and boring to play. A lot of people can't just 'enjoy the game' cus we have to watch this awful character in action. Also ironic that you compare him to Brawl metaknight when his uptilts and up airs are increadibly similar. And no, there is no playing 'more patient' that is going to put a Steve mining behind walls more at risk. There was a set with Acola vs Tweek where Tweek opted to not contest Steve behind his walls, and lo and behold, Acola decided to mine the whole game. The character is overtuned as hell, has way too many broken options, and fundamentally breaks what Smash is supposed to be. Facts
It's a shame there is such a high risk when engaging those moves, however it was really cool to see Gluttony manage to play around them many times.

steve in last hit scenario is so unfair. denies gluto's grounded options with blocks then discourages aerial approaches with back air. rinse and repeat until opponent gets too desperate and runs into a kill option because it was the only way in
You know there's a way out of this 🤣🤣.

Steve is soo cheesy man. No matter how hard gluto tries Steve will always find a way smh. Lmbm was so much more hype for that fact
And yet, theres only one steve whos winning 😅
I stopped watching smash for like 6 months and watching Steve just pisses me right off again. Death percentage, smash attack range, and flying distance from cart all should be lowered for this damn character.

He didn't parry Waft on purpose. He was just trying to shield and got lucky. I main Marth and people "parry" my shield breaker all the time on accident when they actually should get a broken shield.
@@AnenLaylle7023 He probably intentionnally parried. But he didn't expect to parry the waft of all things.

They are just jealous because acola the goat
@@DavionLaneidk about the goat, but he’s an amazing player

But I respect yours also !
Even if he tells you his next moves, you are likely to lose the interaction".

listen guys, I need to make some points here.
@@nolangorenmail Lol
Even good players can get carried
We are talking about the top 1 character in the game as far as i know
@@nolangorenmail Dog i'm sorry, but so much of what you said is just wrong. You can learn the matchup and there is counterplay to him, but at the end of the day he's not healthy for this game from both a competitor's and spectator's point of view
He got no money cause he in Japan and gambling illegal
Steve is one of the hardest character to master and only Acola can be in top 48 with him out of the 10+ steves so he deserves the money 🤑💰
Acola見てて面白いけどなぁ
スティーブ使いで強い人他にいないしAcolaが上手なだけだと思う
つまらないって言うなら最近ホットなソニックの方が見てて面白くない

The better man won. Just beat him or be quiet
Minecraft is the most hated character in smash. Acola I'm sure you're a great guy but you're gonna get fucking punished one day
