    Bad translation at the end. He basically said to master the footwork. He said master when to go in and out, where to put your foot, where to place your weight and that the rest would come automatically. He said that he wanted you guys to change the mindset and that what makes a great fighter is not the ability to throw head kicks and so on… It is the footwork and that is what you should master.

    Rodtang carries a great aura about him when he spars/fights. You can tell. It’s easy to see Shane being hesitant to throw/open up his defence;almost fearful of what is going to come back his way simply because of who he is facing. That is not a knock on you Shane btw. I am pretty confident 90% of us would of been the exact same way sparring the p4p best 60kg Muay Thai fighter in the world lol. Great video!

    It's normally not a good idea to walk through punches in Sparring. Partners hit you light out of respect but your supposed to respect the shot like it was a hard punch, so if you walk through everything, you might do it in a real fight. So I wouldn't normally recommend people do this, but Rodtang is an exception. This man literally does the same thing in real fights. Walks down opponents tanking lunches. Savage.

      What is a cymbal punch?

    • @metrolinamartialarts
      @metrolinamartialarts ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SittingDuck-xq9ln like when you crash cymbals together. Basically two hooks to the side of the head

    I've seen quite a few sparring sessions with different Muay Thai champs, Rodtang, Buakaw, Saenchai, Samart Payakaroon, Lerdsila, and they all have the same qualities: playfulness in sparring, a truly humble attitude and the emphasis on balance, footwork and getting the basics down.
