    Just to comment on verticalization, for those who don't know the phenomenon: you spin faster with your arms in than you do with them out because of conservation of angular momentum. The further something is from the center of rotation, the more energy is needed to make it spin (because of the extra distance the mass has to travel). By bringing the arms close to the center of rotation, you decrease the energy needed to spin them, so the energy instead goes toward spinning the body faster.
    I'll have to review the physics of the running arm-swing a bit more before I comment too much on it, but I suspect it has to do with the downward energy resulting in a normal force from the ground that pushes the body back up.

    I'm slow you're not. That why I play fightTIPS at 1/2 speed.
    Otherwise I miss it
    I like the walking tip. Watching body language would someone using this walking technique have a higher probability of being trained? Mainly Asians.
    Not a pro or con toward any group but then one could employ the running technique if in a confrontation since it's better to engage with four untrained people than one trained one.

      im also in taekwondo, although i dont adopt the style in sparring often. but, although it sounds counterintuitive, practice kicking slowly with great balance and perfect technique. i do this every now and again. make sure your kicks are not telegraphed as telegraphing slows the strike. explosive exercises help. proper weight distribution in your stance will help. proper flexibility should also help.

    • @redsmurf3308
      @redsmurf3308 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thebrennancase I don't think telegraph kicks are slow bro, I did kick boxing for 3 years and telegraph kicks works the same as the punches, they are quick but just can't generate enough power

    • @Nergal123
      @Nergal123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redsmurf3308 usually a “telegraph” kick implies their is some sort of preparatory motion that is unnecessary to the technique, under the illusion of building more power. This “telegraphs” your intention to the opponent because when you do these preparatory motions it signals to the opponent that your about to attack. Because these are unnecessary and an “extra step” or motion to your attack, by removing it entirely you increase your speed simply because you body has less to do in the same amount of time.
      Take a cross vs a telegraphed cross for example. The telegraphed cross cocks back to “build power”(not really) and then throws, while the normal cross simply throws straight from the shoulder without any extra motion.
      The telegraphed cross has two steps in order to execute it, which makes it much slower than the one step or motion required of the normal cross. So telegraphing is undoubtedly slower.

    Or with speed... this is fine ?

    • @Seraphim262

      @@Seraphim262 He literally left it hanging in the "full speed" demonstration.
      Fair enough... it feels more naturally to do so, but just didn't like the slow-mo example.. and then it not working like that in full speed.
      Also with the "raise hand up in air at the end, after extending it out" ... this is too much to think about.. it is better to just swing the kick out and simply let your body figure it out.

    • @Nergal123
      @Nergal123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stateofmind2668 not really…have you tried it? It’s quite easy to execute, at least for me. Its not much to think about…you just put your arm up if you feel like your swinging at air. If you just let your body figure it out, well when you miss your target you’ll be completely out of position most of the time and kinda look foolish. Technique always looks prettier than messy untrained motion, its more effective too.

    • @stateofmind2668
      @stateofmind2668 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nergal123 Yeah... and as you do your little ballerina spin, not just simply bringing your hand back to your head... you're going to get hit.
      Don't get me wrong, I am learning from Fighttips, but personally not sure about demonstration of technique and the difference *Practically* and *in speed. *
      When i fling my arm out like that, yes i am amazed at the increased speed and power.
      But i won't be "lifting my arm up" after that.
      Just going STRAIGHT back to head.

    • @Nergal123
      @Nergal123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stateofmind2668 well this is only if you decide on doing the “ballerina spin” as you call it. Which cases would you need to do a spin? Well when you over swung your kick and missed so if you don’t spin your back will be revealed to your opponent so your hundred percent getting hit, and getting hit bad. How often that situation comes up is dependent on you, but i for one don’t want to be dead in the water when that happens. At least the spin, especially if your a faster fighter, gives you a chance to return to your stance and face your opponent. And if your not a slowpoke, at the distance you are kicking you really shouldn’t be susceptible to many attacks on a whiffed kick. Your opponent is too far away to throw a punch, and a counter roundhouse is too slow. This is in my experience. I think if your getting hit after doing this, your timing, distance, and speed is off.
      Now I definitely don’t do this “ballerina spin” all the time, not even half the time. Im a switch hitter, so letting that leg carry me to southpaw after missing is no big deal since i can rely on my defence there. But that’s not an option when the momentum of your kick is too much to stop midway through, in that case this technique will save your ass. I wouldn’t completely disregard it.

    • @robscott333
      @robscott333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is just a guess but I’d assume your hamstrings are tighter on the left side and when you kick your leg forwards it pulls on one side the pelvis where the hamstring attaches twisting tilting your pelvis and causing anterior pelvic tilt, then resulting the muscles in your lumbar spine on the left side to go through a rapid eccentric stretch that could cause considerable amounts of DOMs
      Maybe test your hamstring range of motion on both legs and compare the two, if the left leg has less range then that’d probably give a bit of weight to my guess
      Again purely speculation but that’s just my 2 cents!

      Why drop when kicking - assists in hip and shoulder rotation for more power. When kicking you utilize your shin as a post to maintain distance between you and the opponent so they cannot reach you with a cross

    • @fighttips
      @fighttips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. Two answers: 1. Because the opposite hand reaches across and protects the chin from incoming crosses, and 2. The kick should be thrown at a range just outside of long punching distance.
