Met tom a few months back in Stoke on Trent, spotted his van coming around a roundabout one morning so I followed him😄 he pulled in at a local petrol station and I fully on fan boyed him, the guy was traveling to Liverpool, and took 20 minutes out of his day to have a coffee and chat! Absolute gent👍
Hi from Norway! Nice to see the videos back 😁 I recommend using helmets with a chin strap when working at heights, because those helmets can fall off during a fall accident. Thankfully didn't learn this the hard way myself, but a customer of mine did... They're okay, but would have recovered faster if the helmet had stayed on.
Bloody Nora Mate!! I was checking boots of abandoned cars and behind rubbish Bins to see if you were left for dead...... Cheers! Happy to see you alive and well and most of all successful!!! .
I wonder about the setup / admin to actual use of tools work ratio for the kind of electrical/maintaince jobs. The five minute job for the actual doing something seems nothing compared to the setup of cones, getting a parking sport, prep and safety checks etc. A sparky might take a lot of time for some prep but still they are as a ratio I would say more manually intense.
Working in streetlighting i can tell you that the prep work with traffic management is usually longer than most of the jobs in the MEWP, i can change a streetlight quicker than putting out 5/6signs and 10ish cones. 9 times out of 10, if its a quietish road then three cones and arrow will do 😂😂
Swear everytime back you’re moving! Agree with you on yellow boxes. Pay per mile I’ll say nothing - devised by London where everything is on your doorstep, not for remote areas where you commute 30 miles to work daily. Glad to see still working away in the background.
When people disagree with cameras is important to know that a lot of them are simply general CCTV monitoring things for safety purposes because when someone goes missing being able to know if they were in a carpark or went past the junction is invaluable and council spend money on that because it saves livesalso the government cannot track you with these. They don’t connect these systems up that well.
what is it with the UK and CCTV/NPR cameras, you must be the most surveilled country in the world. What happens if I want to visit someone that lives in these council controlled areas, do I get fined as well ?? As a tourist last year to the UK i received a fine from the hire car company months after I returned home for going somewhere I should not have , I got lost basically, and was told I just had to pay the fine. Not a very good lasting memory of our holiday, cheers, Garry from DownUnder
@@Tsiikki not like we have much of a choice in the matter mate. Our cities are almost entirely run by the left who hate motorists and have been doing everything in their power to make driving impossible.
I was going through your back catalogue the night before last so really good to see you're back, though if you keep standing in the middle of the road putting your kit on or chatting, it will be short lived. Never turn your back on traffic, especially working in London.😢🚗💥🏥
The only scenario you are allowed to enter a yellow box when the exit isn't clear is when turning right at the junction. However your scenario does show a muppet who doesn't just stay in the box waiting for the opposite lane to clear, but someone who blocks the road even when the exit is blocked. He should just hold back with the right indicator on.
I'm a retired professional driver (bus & comersial) and it would drive me mad when drivers would block a junction because they couldn't be bothered to wait and as a bus driver a bus/taxi lane is useless if its blocked up by cars and comersial vehicles so I'm completely in favour of cameras for both.
You can't enter even when turning right if your exit isn't clear - Highway code R174 - you may enter it if the exit is clear but the only thing stopping you is oncoming traffic. This is a problem if when you enter the junction the exit is clear but oncoming traffic subsequently turns into it and leaves you with nowhere to go. In some cases the junction is designed so that only (say) two vehicles can turn right for any signal cycle, so it is expected that those two vehicles will remain stationary in the box until the oncoming signals change thus giving those two vehicles time to exit - but the signals they have just passed will have gone red again preventing more vehicles from turning -so if vehicles were to not have entered the box on their green signal they would never be able to turn right (assuming a steady stream of oncoming traffic).
Great to have you back, Is it my imagination or was this more of a stream-of-consciousness video than we were used to in the past? Also somewhat lower video quality? Still enjoyable, but somewhat disjointed. I suppose the highways jobs have less variety by nature - and more restrictions Also curious about the apprenticeship route. I guess I would have expected the Highways certification to start with an already qualified electrician and "top up". But it appears you can start from zero and learn on the job? Is there much classroom time as well?
I've seen worse. Earlier this year I had breakfast at a small cafe in Vienna and then waited for someone just outside. While I was waiting I suddenly noticed that the huge sign above the door had a hideous spelling mistake that someone had sort-of corrected by gluing a completely different-looking letter over the original sign. Someone had managed to write "Zigaratten" instead of "Zigaretten" (cigarettes). That's not a word but "Ratten" are rats, so it's quite a funny mistake. Menu boards of small takeaway places are notorious for being full of the weirdest spelling mistakes, I don't think anyone bothers to proof-read them at all.
another welcome back video 🤣see you next year with the next video!
Just what I was thinking! 😂
Same! In all seriousness great to see you’re doing well!

These young uns ain't got a day's graft in 'em Tom 😂 good to see you back, buddy. You're looking pretty ripped, too!
I'd get that sign changed anyway. Only police and local councils can issue a penalty charge notice. Private companies issue a parking charge notice.
Good work to get into the highways & byways, you install ulez & cameras, the gangsters RIP em down 😮
Refit next week merry Go round & Round 😅
yes ive been waiting for 4 months and filnaly you did a video thank you
Crazy the amount of cameras the UK have. Very interesting how the citizens have come to accept it.
What's the penatly for not uploading a youtube video in ages? ;) only kidding - nice to see you all again!
Welcome back, Acronyms and Initialisms you use are always fun to figure out for us on the other side of the pond.

"Penalty" is also wrong even if spelt correctly - private companies cannot issue penalty charge notices
Thank you for posting a new video

Nice one Thomas kept up with you on Fix Radio but great to see you back on TH-cam 👍
Based on my recent HERS onsite assessment - get out vehicle, blue arrow, men at work & road narrow, then cones...
Love a Nagy weekly video 😂
i know quite a few intersections in multiple dutch cities where a yellowbox camera would be amazing

This is what I was thinking too. Do British people like being watched? At least apply that to every one there then?
It's the Gravy train ,money making scheme.

Always nice to see you. Unfortunately probably means this is the last video for a year.

Watching Charlie do that made me cry laughing
Just saw your sticker outside the bike garage on Uxbridge Road two days ago and wondered whether you're still doing TH-cam... and now this. :)
Wooooo!!! 🎉🎉
Fair enough with regard to the yellow boxes. Think blocking all the back streets just adds to the already unbearable London traffic…
Love the returns
Probably find you've chipped a bone in your elbow. I did mine last year. Took about 4 months for the pain to stop when having my elbows on a desk.
You appear to have had more comebacks than Status Quo! 😂
Thanks for the new video , see you in a years time lol 😂
