  • The Boss ES-8 and the Boss GT-1000 Core for me are the perfect match. In this video, I go through how to incorporate midi patch changes from the Boss ES-8 to control the Boss GT-1000. At the end of the video, I demonstrate all the patches where I've incorporated pedals into the units to create my ultimate pedalboard. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

    What style of patch cable heads are best for fitting them in the bk of the es8?

  • @IsaacLausell
    @IsaacLausell 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome sounds! If I may I have two questions. Are you using the amps on the Boss GT 1000 Core or are your plugged into an amp? Do you feel you get a nicer feel from using the analog drives instead of the Boss's internal ones or is it a matter that you like these drives and wanted to use them?

    Hi Paul, is your GT-Core is the last pedal to your chain? I assumed that those pedals that are connected to ES-8 via send/return are the first pedal on the chain blocks?

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s switchable with the es8 but yes normally gt is last in the chain for me.

    Can you bypass the GT 1000 patches via midi or do you have to do that manually? I finally figured out how controls my H9 From my GT 100 via midi but was wondering if you can bypass it?

    Paul, how are you running the ES8 into the GT core??? guitar into the ES8 and output to the GT Core (in front of the core)? or using the loop on the Core? or a loop on the ES8 for the core? I have an ES5 and a Core i'm getting ready to put into a pedal board application, just wanted the most versatile setup and i've heard people having issues running drive pedals in front of the core.

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rk. The es8 is in a loop the pedals run into the front of the core.

      @@TheStudioRats so how are you then putting pedals in the loop of the es8 after the pre amp? Can you also use 4 cm to an amp or are you running into the preamp on the amp?

    • @JetBeray
      @JetBeray ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevenj1962have you figured this out? Im planning to buy the ES-8 since I already have a Core. But if I cannot put some external pedals within the chain inside the Core using the ES8 then there’s no reason for me to purchase it.
