As always, super useful and clear! Thank you, Paul. When you talk about that stuff it looks like super easy and merely natural knowledge. It is always a greatly teaching and pleasant experience to to watch your videos! :)

I’m glad I watched this. It’s definitely a plus one in my deliberation (as of 1 February, 2024) about purchasing not the GT-1000 but the 1000 Core. If I’m not mistaken, it is equipped with those same manual switches and assignable functions.
I love the sound of “Reso-Wah”. It definitely sounds like a filter. Early in the 2000s, I had considered blowing my wallet on the Moog Music MF-101 Moogerfooger and a companion exp. pedal. This would do the same thing in a package that does so much else besides.

    Thanks for the video.
So, as you showed, the EV-30 can be set up to act as volume, exp and tuner, when it's set like that from the GT-1000CORE, but, there's no switch on the actual EV-30 itself, which will engage the PDL FX, unless you set up an Assign to do so, correct?
It's not like the standard Vol/Exp pedal on the GT-1000, for example, where the Vol/Exp pedal has a switch, which engages the PDL FX, when pressed down, using your foot?
I'm trying to wrap my head around what Vol/Exp pedal I need for my GT-1000CORE...
I'm thinking that I could obviously buy one volume pedal, connect it through EXP1 and then buy an Exp pedal, and connect that through EXP2, but, then I would have no access to use my FS-7, which I need for Assigns... That's why I need to know the exact functionality of the EV-30..
I hope you can help me out here, Paul.
    Thanks.

I am trying to do the same thing right now. Switching from my GT-1 to a GT1000 core, and the biggest issue I'm having is that the built in pedal on the GT-1 allowed me to do volume and was by just pressing down hard to switch between them, but it doesn't appear there is any way to do that on the Core. Have you found a good external pedal you can use with the Core that lets you do both?

Thanks for the video 🤘, you know if other devices like the Mission SP-1 are compatible with the GT1000 core? I didn't see anyone doing that

Please tell me how to set up volume and wa function with Express pedal. All it takes is to turn on and off the pfx function of the effector chain

Damn... I recently bought the GX-100 but the expression pedal is terrible, so I bought a separate Boss expression pedal, thinking it could take over all functionality from the built in one, but that seems to be impossible :( so disappointed.

Can you control "effect level" from e.g. "FX 1" instead of Pedal FX?
I tried to make it work through "assign", by setting "Volume min" to "Foot Volume", but it seems "Pedal position" takes precedence.

Yeah you need to turn off the expression pedal in the control assign and then go to the actual assigns and make the FX1 effect left change in the assigns.

You're referring to GT-1000 *Core*, Paul, so perhaps change the video title to reflect that? Great stuff, as usual, btw!

I’m surprised you are experiencing problems. Have you tried a different USB port?

@@TheStudioRats Yes I have tried that and switching cables etc, I also own an HXStomp, and it's a mile ahead of the BOSS GT1000 for software, but as you know the GT1000 sounds great, I have reached out to Boss, no reply at all, very frustrating...cheers
