Arrrh, thorght I recognized your boat earlier... took a few hours to click where I knew it from! Passed you this evening near Brownsea island... Grey hulled Trident with a red flag on the mast. Anchored in blood ally. Good to see you out and about brother... take care
@@AlexGoesSailing Arrrh, thanks Alex... restored her 2 years ago and been a live aboard ever since. Passed Studland earlier... only a few other boats on the outer swing moorings. Just anchored up in Swanage. Love ya channel, hopefully see you around. Andy
Two things: That's a fairly long trailer, and you mentioned wanting a way to keep the boat centered during loading. Could you incorporate a couple pairs of bunk rollers set up between the molded portions that you made to keep her on center? In looking at the boat all loaded up, i noticed that the furler just kind of hangs out over Brutus. Aren't you worried about the aluminum profile getting bent while bouncing down the road ... i for one would be cringing at every bump.
Yes I’d like to add rollers but I was thinking on the top of the white bunks. The furler over hangs by a few foot but it doesn’t bend the profile when it bounces a little. I do want to 3d print mounts to prevent movement and chafing. Thanks for the input robert!
Love your stuff, but man, the different timelines get me so confused 😂 I don’t follow the other socials, so make do with what I get from here. I’d probably have realised if I paid more attention to detail, but I assumed these past few episodes happened after the refit, which then meant that the refit would haVe been winter 22/23. Only you saying that this was the first time taking her out of the water made me realise I’d got it all wrong 🤦♂️ just a month/year in video description would be so useful! Great work, keep em coming
Hi Alex, that’s smart how the outriggers come in like that and the mast system I also think is well thought out. Catch up with you soon, Dave from sunny Mudeford 😂
Hi Alex, another great fun video which so much reminds me of what I was (foolishly) doing 30 years ago with boats too big to be trailored! Just a minor comment, but would you be able indicate more clearly what timeline we are viewing? As, we have seen, you have now done great repairs etc over the winter, which presumably was 23/24 but your latest videos relates to 23. Which is a bit confusing as now you are taking the boat out of the water for the first time when I expecting it to be put back in the water for the 2024 season!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy it. The timeline is all in order. So the sailing is summer of 23 and fixed the boat the winter before. Have 3 more big trips before I’m back to this winter.
😂 I did for a little bit. Lucky it was just the jet ski guys and no one after so had the chance just to wait for the tide! Thanks again for watching and all the support you give!
Time for another video, I'm hoping to be getting a Telstar 28 in the next few days. Thanks for doing the videos they are very informative
One will be out today! Exciting times and congratulations!!!
Must say that the mast handling set up is genius. 👍
Yeah I love it!
some thinking went into the way the boat folds and the mast drops, very clever and looks easy to do. great update 2x👍
Super easy! Can’t wait to make it faster!
You should always put a twist in your load straps. It stops harmonic flutter caused by the wind. This increases wear to the strap and load. Cheers!
Yes you should if you can!
Always blows my mind that you can get this onto a trailer ! Loved the video : )
Same here😂

@@ClanGunnBushcraft will be over in the Channel Islands tomorrow. Great job on the build. That solar looked sweet!
Get yourself a long aluminium scaff tube to extend the tow out range .
That’s a good idea. Might gut get more of the sections of box that I have on my solid bar.
I seem to recall that you could get a winch that fitted onto a towbar and connected to the towing socket for power! Or maybe I dreamt that?!
I think that is a thing. Would definitely be easier solo than doing it with a rope or the extension bars.
Alex! Just caught you heading past heading to Cowes yesterday morning. Sorry to shout at you lol as going past!
Great to see you! Don’t worry I’m used to it by now 🤦♂️😂
Great Alex agree amazed how you get it on the trailer.
Thanks Jeff! Definitely a learning curve!
Great vid, Alex. Mingulay is a great looking boat and looks like a lot of fun to sail!!
Thanks! I’m having a blast!
Beastmode engage! Cheers, Alex!
Thank you!!!

It’s a great season. Hopefully I will bump into you this season!
no idea how that mast system works but it looks good.
Will have a video on it at some point going over it in detail!

East head is where I 1st saw you on mingulay!! Prior to you announcing it. What’s your sailing plans this year?
Great question! Over to the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly again, wales for sure and probably some other big ones!
Stop blocking that slipway 😂 Only joking, looks great, glad it went well ❤
