Hey Alex ... just a tip on the ethanol issue ... you can extract the ethanol from the fuel pretty easily ... there are TH-cam videos on it. In short ... just add water and mix well -- the water bonds with the ethanol, so once it all settles after the mix there will be two defined liquids -- just suck the pure fuel off of the top and leave the water and ethanol at the bottom -- you will need some clear containers for this. The ethanol causes a lot of trouble with two-stroke snowmobiles and dirt bikes too. At least knowing the hack can save you some trouble if you find yourself desperate and without other fuel options.
I always add a fuel additive when using petrol even E5. I think the current bottle is Redex. Makes starting much easier and keeps the fuel fresh for up to a year.
Lovely video Alex. Last year Lallows in Cowes, Bucklers in Beaulieu, Avon in Christchurch & Salterns in Poole all sold E5 premium fuel. However I buy mine from a garage too because its way cheaper. My engine can only run on E5, its 30 years old and the manufacturer specifically says no E10. So i have stuck to that...
Yeah plus it’s easy for me to pull in and get fuel while trailering. Will keep those in places in mind for this season! Thanks for watching glad you liked it!
Round the Island race was in June last year so about 9 months back. I find most sailing channels are behind in their postings - it doesn't really bother me and I enjoy Alex's content.
Will be at real-time shortly. It’s nice to have about a 3 month buffer when editing. Just how it is at it takes time. In the summer it’s harder to find the time to edit because I’m usually out sailing!

That’s a good idea! Might start doing that!
Thanks Alex a great vid. looking forward to racing round the isle.
Me too. Will be a fun edit!
i was thinking those sides to the tri maybe put a sliding extension deck so making more use of space on the sides
That could be interesting!

@@AlexGoesSailing I used to carry cans from the garage. But now I trail again, so same as you, easy to pull in and fill.
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating hope to see you on the water this year!
@@AlexGoesSailing same here, I haven't been out since September last year but will hopefully be out and about soon and will keep in touch
Do you have to show an ICC, or any RYA credentials to sail in the Solent?
Nope don’t need anything in the uk. Those things are used when you charter a boat and can also help with insurance a bit.
Great video 2x👍
Cheers!
Just worked out all this video is at least a year old if not more so not point commenting any more
