Cheers Alex, another thoroughly enjoyable episode of your life. The exceptional drone footage of sweet little Mingulay romping along under sail was so nice to watch. All the best Alex, looking forward to watching the final episodes of your journey back to your home port. ❤⛵
Alex I've followed your sailing career over the years. I was worried that with the trimaran there would be less relevant grass routes sailing. I need not have worried, your posts are always excellent and relevant.
Crackin episode brother! Spent the summer down the south coast, but never got chance to go over the the scilly isles... Looks stunning! I love this time of year... all the day sailors boats are tucked away in the marinas until spring and entire anchorages to ourselves ⚓
Great episode with good variety of content, especially boat stuff. I agree with most - towing the dinghy on passage is asking for trouble. I can't wait to see M in some real seas.
@@moonhand8311 thanks! Yeah towing isn’t recommended that’s for sure. I found it very interesting watching how it reacted under tow. Having the kayak on deck too made me not want to put it on the other side.
@AlexGoesSailing It looks easily deflatable, how about putting it in the cabin? I've had a couple of exciting moments towing a dinghy so now unless we are literally popping from one bay to another under motor at tickover we deflate and get rid of it. It's so much more relaxing not having to worry about it.
@@simonworby that was an option but we didn’t want to inflate it again after the crossing. If the weather was worse then I’d definitely get it back onboard but having the extra room on a small boat was the pro in this situation.
I'm sure you have said, before but could you let me know the full details of the electric motor you are using. I note that you think it very comparable with your 2.5 Hp 4 stroke. I use the 2.5hp Honda for my dinghy and as a reserve limp home motor on my Beneteau first 21.7 if my 5hp Honda should let me down. I'm thinking your electric would be a more convenient alternative. Many thanks.
@@bobfalkner7466 the electric one is a thrustme kicker. Works is a similar fashion to the 2.5hp but without the range and a little less speed but a lot more convenience. As so a backup motor I’d only use it as one if I was only sailing in harbours or only had a short distance to go back in. Hope this helps!
@@AlexGoesSailing Yes it does, I hadn't realised that Kicker was the manufacturer! Sounds ideal, I would only be using it for the last bit of manoeuvring on to a pontoon when the sails are down and if the 5hp has let me down. Cheers. PS after your comment, I see there is a weed cutter available.
@@bobfalkner7466 there is but I’m not sure how effective it would be. It’s ideal for a docking backup then. They have just released an extended range battery add on too. It does need rinse after every use to stop it from seizing up.
Excellent presentation!
loved that drone footage coming back, and wow that castle is impressive!!
@@jackgoresailing more places that you will have to sail to!

@@ElectroRiderSN thank you!!! Was an epic sail and I do like my drone edits a little too much sometimes!
this looked like a great sail and those bays are amazing - thanks for sharing !
@@DanielTruran one of the best! Hit some good speeds! Thanks for watching 😀
Thanks Alex and Daniel that was a great sailing video Enjoyed it a lot 👍👍
@@jeffweston7465 cheers Jeff! Was a fun sail! Did you see the dolphin jump off the bow in one of the drone shots? Didn’t notice until the edit!

I think that the trimaran is the perfect trailer sailer / adventure boat. Don't know how you're going to top that one Alex...
@@cousinjack2841 it definitely has to be the best. Can’t tow any bigger that’s for sure!
Nice spot for a walk on the island and some extreme flipflop climbing . 🤣

Great anchorage….unless the wind blows SW…it’s normal direction!
@@markthomasson5077 indeed! Lucky me!
Would it not be preferable to stow the dinghy for longer passages?
@@simonworby yeah we can pull it up when needed but thought I’d see how it got on. Helps a little pulling it up but we were on the wrong tack.
